Opis:: A new image encryption algorithm by using a discrete fractional angular transform and Arnold transform in image bit planes is investigated. In the image encryption algorithm, the original image is encrypted by the Arnold transform in image bit planes firstly, and then the resulting image is encrypted by the discrete fractional angular transform further. The key of the image encryption algorithm includes the parameters of the Arnold transform and the order of the discrete fractional angular transform. It is shown that the proposed image encryption algorithm is of high security and strong enough to counteract some conventional image attack manners.

Opis:: Based on compressive sensing and log operation, a new image compression-encryption algorithm is proposed, which accomplishes encryption and compression simultaneously. The proposed image compression-encryption algorithm takes advantage of not only the physical realizability of partial Hadamard matrix, but also the resistance of the chosen-plaintext attack since all the elements in the partial Hadamard matrix are 1, –1 or log 1 = 0. The proposed algorithm is sensitive to the key and it can resist various common attacks. The simulation results verify the validity and reliability of the proposed image compression-encryption algorithm.

Opis:: Porcine circovirus type 2 (PCV2) has been known as a causative agent of reproductive failure in the sow. In the present study mouse model was used to investigate PCV2 infection. In order to investigate whether PCV2 can induce lesions of spermatocytes and oocytes, 6 male and 6 female mice were each inoculated intraperitoneally with PCV2b, and 3 male and 3 female mice mock-infected with cell culture supernatant served as controls. Samples of testes and ovaries from PCV2b-inoculated and mock-infected mice were investigated using PCR, histopathological, ultrastructural and immunofluorescent histochemical methods at 14 and 21 day post infection (dpi). The study revealed that in the virus-inoculated mice leydig cells in testes and granulosa cells in ovaries were degenerated, and a small number of spermatocytes and oocytes showed apoptosis. Positive PCV2b antigen signals were also observed in these apoptotic cells. It can be suggested that PCV2 can cause lesions of spermatocyte and oocyte prior to zygotes formation in its host.

Opis:: Based on crystal- and ligand-field theory, double-spin-orbital coupling approach was used to analyze the crystal-field energy levels and spin-Hamiltonian parameters of $Ni^{2+}$ ion at trigonal site in $CdBr_2$. The local lattice distortion (Δ R and $τ_{Ni^{2+}}$) is estimated from the crystal field parameters; the crystal field energy Hamiltonian was diagonalized in the full basis consisting of 45 wave functions of the $Ni^{2+}$ ion. Results of calculations are in good agreement with experimental data. The reasonableness of the theoretical results is discussed.

Opis:: Composite foams were obtained through a two-step molding process in an injection molding machine. Gas phase was introduced into the mixture of molten polypropylene (PP) and solid glass fiber (GF). The interfacial behavior was investigated, and the strengthening and toughening mechanisms for PP/GF composites under three-phase coexistence were discussed. The incorporation of gas phase significantly increased the tensile strength by 112 % and impact toughness by 105 % in comparison to its unfoamed counterpart. The resulting mechanical properties of the PP/GF composite foams were found to depend considerably on the coexistence state of solid (GF) and gas (cells) phases and the cell structure of the foams.
Pianki kompozytowe otrzymano w dwustopniowym procesie formowania wtryskowego. Fazę gazową wprowadzano do mieszaniny stopionego polipropylenu (PP) ze stałymi włóknami szklanymi (GF). Badano właściwości mechaniczne otrzymanych pianek PP/GF oraz omówiono mechanizmy powodujące wzmacnianie i utwardzanie tych pianek w warunkach współistnienia trzech faz. Zaobserwowano, że wprowadzenie fazy gazowej znacznie zwiększa wytrzymałość na rozciąganie (o 112 %) i udarność pianki (o 105 %) w porównaniu z wartościami otrzymanymi w przypadku jej niespienionego odpowiednika. Stwierdzono, że właściwości mechaniczne pianek kompozytowych PP/GF w znacznym stopniu zależą od stanu współistnienia fazy stałej (GF) i gazowej (pory) oraz struktury komórkowej pianki.

Opis:: A mixed state in dc-biased thin films of II-type superconductors realizes the Abrikosov magnetic vortices/antivortices, which are the result of the current-self magnetic field penetration into the film at temperatures lower than its critical temperature $T_{c}$. A nucleation of vortices/antivortices at the superconducting film's edges, their motion perpendicular to the direction of biasing current, and the annihilation in the film's center originates from a current dissipation in the superconductor and expresses itself in experiments as a dc voltage. This work reports on the results of simulation of current density in a 50 μm wide, 100 μm long, and 0.3 μm thick $YBa_2Cu_3O_{7 - x}$ microbridges containing Π-shaped 5 μm wide single channel of easy vortex motion fabricated by means of laser-writing technique. Analyzing a two-dimensional-net of resistors and assuming that, due to the Meissner-Ochsenfeld effect, the magnetic flux penetration into superconducting film is nonlinear, we demonstrate that presence of a Π-shaped channel causes a non-homogeneous distribution of current in the microbridge.

Opis:: A current-self-induced magnetic field $H_{j}$, such that $H_{c1} < H_{j} < H_{c2}$ at $T < T_{c}$, penetrates a thin-film, type-II superconductor forming the Abrikosov magnetic vortex-antivortex pairs in the film's areas of weakest superconductivity. Our atomic force microscopy and scanning tunneling microscopy images confirm that in 50 μm wide, 100 μm long and 0.3 μm thick $YBa_2Cu_3O_{7 - x}$ superconducting devices magnetic flux penetrates first into a 5 μm wide, Π-shaped and partially deoxygenated (x ≈ 0.2) channel for easy vortex motion. When the Lorentz force overcomes pinning force in the channel, the flux starts to move and its drift dissipates energy inducing dc voltage. This work reports on the density of coherently moving vortices along the channel vs. temperature in range from $0.93T_{c}$ to $0.97T_{c}$. Our simulations show that the vortex density vs. temperature dependence extracted from I-V measurements of our devices follows the temperature dependence of magnetic field penetration depth and the coherence length of the superconductor.
