With reference to Florian Znaniecki's concept, the Author answers the question: is the "civilisation of the future" an unrealistic fantasy? The article discusses as well relations between "national civilisations" and "the human civilisation". The final statements are: 1) creating of the ecumenical or global civilisation requires careful planning with participation of some specialists in the humanities; 2) the basic feature of this civilisation would be normality of multiplicity of self-definitions created via various ideas, forms and rules of participating in human live.
