    Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie wyzwań i szans procesu kształcenia, w kontekście rewolucji technologicznej, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem istoty zmian w sferze technologii informacyjno-komunikacyjnych powiązanych z szeroko pojęta istotą cyberbezpieczeństwa. Dotyczy to również form i metod kształcenia zdalnego w edukacji dla bezpieczeństwa oraz obronności. Artykuł zawiera rekomendacje dot. wykorzystania opracowań, plonu współpracy konsorcjum Partnerstwa dla Pokoju Akademii Obrony i Instytutów Studiów Strategicznych z Międzynarodowym Sztabem NATO. To tzw. dokumenty referencyjne (Reference Curricula) – programy dedykowane różnym odbiorcom, np. zainteresowanym cyberbezpieczeństwem lub kwestiami antykorupcyjnymi. Dokumenty są wykorzystywana m.in. przez instytucje szkolnictwa wojskowego krajów objętych programem NATO DEEP. Jako studium przypadku przedstawiony został program referencyjny cyberbezpieczeństwa. Dokument stał się inspiracją i podstawą kursu e-learningowego, który jest dostępny na portalu NATO DEEP ADL oraz platformie LMS ILIAS Filii w Ełku Uniwersytetu Warmińsko-Mazurskiego w Olsztynie.  
    The aim of the article is to address the challenges and opportunities for academic education, as a consequence of the technological revolution, with particular emphasis on the context of the e-learning solutions and applications. The aim is also to formulate recommendations regarding the best practices within the information and communication technologies in education. In this context the cooperation between Partnership for Peace Consortium (PfPC) of Defense Academies and Security Studies Institutes, and the NATO International Staff, aiming to develop the reference curricula, is presented – designed for employment by the defense education institutions. The respective documents are available, also for the Defence Education Enhancement Program (DEEP) partner countries. As the case study, the Reference Curriculum on Cybersecurity is shown as the e-learning solution, available on the NATO DEEP ADL Portal and LMS ILIAS platform of the Elk Campus Branch of the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn.

    The genesis of deterrence has been studied in the paper. The characteristic features of deterrence strategy have been presented. The evolution process of deterrence concept has been delineated, five waves of deterrence have been brought to the spotlight. The factors affecting the implementation of a deterrence strategy have been underscored. The South Caucasus has been chosen as a focal point and its comparison with other regions has been conducted. The vulnerabilities of the countries in the region have been presented. The recommendations have been made for developing a robust deterrence strategy against external actors. Azerbaijan’s strategy of deterrence for the last couple of years was thoroughly studied regarding its deterrence strategy. The authors endeavored to touch upon various aspects and elements of Azerbaijan’s deterrence strategy in comparison with other countries in the region.

    Termination of war has become one of the most important aspects of modern warfare for the last couple decades. There are a number of factors presented by the historians, military analysts and defence policy critics, which affect the outcome of the war. The presented paper describes the comparative analysis of pre-war strength of Azerbaijan and Armenia, indicates the factors leading to Azerbaijan’s resounding victory and Armenia’s defeat in the Second Karabakh War. The authors highlight four generalized factors in order to shed light on Azerbaijan’s victory. The paper examines the means of war termination and associates only one of them – “Negotiated by Third Party” with the outcome of the Second Karabakh War.
