This study was conducted to determine the effect of different plant growth promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR) strains on growth and quality of cauliflower transplants under greenhouse conditions. The strains of Bacillus megaterium TV-3D, B. megaterium TV-91C, Pantoea agglomerans RK-92, B. subtilis TV-17C, B. megaterium TV-87A, B. megaterium KBA-10 were used in this study. The results of this study showed that different bacterial inoculations increased plant growth parameters such as fresh shoot weight, dry shoot weight, root diameter, root length, fresh root weight, dry root weight, plant height, stem diameter, leaf area and chlorophyll contents of cauliflower transplant respectively. Except for abscisic acid (ABA), the values of gibberellic acid (GA), salicylic acid (SA), indole acetic acid (IAA) was increased by ratio of 23.64, 89.54 and 25.63%, respectively in compared to the control by application of B. megaterium KBA-10 and P. agglomerans RK-92. The amount of organic acids with B. subtilis TV-17C PGPR applications have increased at a ranging ratio from 9.63 to 186.02%. Also, PGPR inoculations increased the macro and micro nutrient content of cauliflower transplants. As a result, the use of bacteria treatments may provide a means of improving transplant growth and quality in cauliflower.
Badanie przeprowadzono w celu określenia wpływu różnych szczepów ryzobakterii stymulujących wzrost roślin (PGPR) na wzrost i jakość rozsady kalafiora w warunkach szklarniowych. Wykorzystano szczepy Bacillus megaterium TV-3D, B. megaterium TV-91C, Pantoea agglomerans RK-92, B. subtilis TV-17C, B. megaterium TV-87A, B. megaterium KBA-10. Z badań wynika, że różne bakteryjne inokulacje zwiększają takie parametry wzrostu roślin, jak świeża masa pędów, sucha masa pędów, średnica korzenia, długość korzenie, świeża masa korzenia, sucha masa korzenia, średnica łodygi, powierzchnia liścia oraz zawartość chlorofili w rozsadzie kalafiora. Z wyjątkiem kwasu abscysynowego (ABA), zawartości kwasu giberelinowego (GA), kwasu salicylowego (SA) oraz kwasu indolilooctowego (IAA) – dzięki aplikacji B. megaterium KBA-10 oraz P. agglomerans RK-92 – zwiększyła się odpowiednio o 23,64, 89,54 i 25,63% w porównaniu z kontrolą. Ilość kwasów organicznych przy aplikacji B. subtilis TV-17C PGPR zwiększała się zmiennie, z 9,63 do 186,02%. Szczepienia PGPR zwiększały też zawartość makro- i mikroelementów w rozsadzie kalafiora. W rezultacie, zabiegi z użyciem bakterii mogą być środkiem polepszania wzrostu i jakości kalafiora.

To determine effects of intercropping broccoli with onion and their correspondence to different nitrogen concentrations on growth, yield and nutrient contents, field studies were conducted for two years. In intercropping plots, onion sets were planted between broccoli rows. Broccoli and onion plants were also grown as monocrops. Nitrogen (N) was applied at three different rates (160, 200 and 240 kg ha⁻¹) in both mono and intercrop plots of broccoli. The overall efficiency of intercropping was evaluated by employing land equivalent ratios (LERs). Cropping systems significantly did not affect chlorophyll reading value, yield and other parameters observed. However, nitrogen application rate had significant effect on these parameters. The highest values of these parameters were generally observed in 240 kg N ha⁻¹ application. Macro and microelement content of broccoli leaves was affected neither by cropping systems nor by nitrogen fertilization except for N, Mn, Zn and NO₃. Intercropping increased plant height but decreased the plant diameter of onion. There wasn’t significant decrease in plant weight of intercropped onion at 240 kg N ha⁻¹ treatment when compared to monocropping. Broccoli intercropped with onion at 240 kg N ha⁻¹ had the highest LER values, showing that intercropping practice could be more productive than monocropping especially in case of 240 kg N ha⁻¹ application.

Opis:
The use of efficient refrigerator/freezers helps considerably to reduce the amount of the emitted greenhouse gas. A two-circuit refrigerator-freezer cycle (RF) reveals a higher energy saving potential than a conventional cycle with a single loop of serial evaporators, owing to pressure drop in each evaporator during refrigeration operation and low compression ratio. Therefore, several industrial applications and fish storage systems have been utilized by using multipurpose refrigeration cycle. That is why a theoretical performance analysis based on the exergetic performance coefficient, coefficient of performance (COP), exergy efficiency and exergy destruction ratio criteria, has been carried out for a multipurpose refrigeration system by using different refrigerants in serial and parallel operation conditions. The exergetic performance coefficient criterion is defined as the ratio of exergy output to the total exergy destruction rate (or loss rate of availability). According to the results of the study, the refrigerant R32 shows the best performance in terms of exergetic performance coefficient, COP, exergy efficiency, and exergy destruction ratio from among the other refrigerants (R1234yf, R1234ze, R404A, R407C, R410A, R143A and R502). The effects of the condenser, freezerevaporator and refrigerator-evaporator temperatures on the exergetic performance coefficient, COP, exergy efficiency and exergy destruction ratios have been fully analyzed for the refrigerant R32.

Benzimidazole is one of the most important heterocyclic groups manifesting various biological properties, such as antibacterial, antifungal, antimicrobial, antiprotozoal and antihelmintic activities. Several benzimidazole derivatives are also active as inhibitors of type I DNA topoisomerases. In this study, three 1H-benzimidazole derivatives with different electronic characteristics at position 5-, namely 5-chloro-4-(1H-benzimidazole-2-yl)phenol (Cpd I), 5-methyl-4-(1H-benzimidazole-2-yl)phenol (Cpd II) and 4-(1H-benzimidazole-2-yl)phenol (Cpd III), were synthesized and evaluated for their effects on mammalian type I DNA topoisomerase activity using quantitative in vitro plasmid supercoil relaxation assays. For the structure elucidation of the compounds, melting points, UV, IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR, mass spectral data and elemental analyses were interpreted. Among the compounds, 5-methyl-4-(1H-benzimidazole-2-yl)phenol (Cpd II) manifested relatively potent topoisomerase I inhibition.

Three different kinds of polymer films, poly (divinylbenzene), poly (ethylene glycol dimethacrylate) and poly (vinyl alcohol), containing M-type hexagonal barium ferrites (BaFe12O19) were synthesized on glass substrates by using surface polymerization method. The structural properties were characterized by X-ray diffraction and atomic force microscopy. X-ray diffraction patterns show that polymer films have a polycrystalline structure. The magnetic measurement of polymer films were examined at room temperature using vibrating sample magnetometer and magnetic force microscopy, respectively. The magnetic measurements indicate that P(VA)-BF films exhibit higher saturation magnetization and coercive field than P(EGDMA)-BF and P(DVB)-BF films.

Opis:
The effects of pulse-on duration and finishing operation on the surface roughness and electrical resistivity of AISI D2 tool steel machined by the electrical discharge machining process are investigated. Experimental results indicate that surface roughness increased depending on the pulse-on duration. However, after the specific value, surface roughness is decreased. It can be seen that there are no notable effects of the pulse-on duration on the electrical resistivity, but the resistivity values are affected by the heat treatment and the finishing operation. Also, light microscopy and scanning electron microscopy have been used to study the characteristics of the surfaces.

Having symmetrical and balanced material properties, polymer matrix composites are increasingly becoming popular due to easiness of construction and are use in the production of aerospace and automotive structures. In the study, we developed polymer composites based on epoxy resins, containing up to 40 wt.% of blast furnace slag and determined their pin-on-disc dynamic friction, wear, Shore hardness and surface roughness values. Wear tests were performed using a pin-on-disc under dry friction conditions, at the loads of 5, 10, 15 and 30 N, using slip velocity of 0.3 m/s and along distance of 500 m. The hardness and wear resistance values increased with the increase in the content of blast furnace slag. Showing the relationship between wear rate and hardness, an equation with parameters dependent on load was provided. There was an increase in the dynamic friction with an increase in the surface roughness. In addition, dynamic friction was an increasing function of the wear rate. The wear surfaces of the polymer composites were analyzed using scanning electron microscopy. It was observed that the wear rate of the epoxy composites and pure epoxy samples ranged from 19.85 to 171.42 mm³/Nm.

In this study, the synthesis of aniline-formaldehyde resin, and its thermal and structural characterization, as well as the preparation and characterization of the resin-organoclay composites were carried out. For this, first, at 70°C and acidic conditions the aniline formaldehyde prepolymer was prepared and then cured at 120°C under vacuum. The structural and thermal characterization of the resin was made using FTIR and DSC techniques. By using the Cetyltrimethylammonium Bromide modified Montmorillonite (OMMT) and the synthesized resin, the resin-organoclay composites were prepared by melt intercalation method. Characterization of the resin-organoclay composites prepared with the different ratios of organoclay is made with the same techniques. The FTIR and thermal analysis results of the composites indicate that a cross-linked polymeric matrix was formed. The thermal behavior of the composites has also significantly changed compared to pure resin.

Syntactic foams are one of the most widely used close cell structured foams. They are used in applications for naval, aeronautical, aerospace, civil, industrial, and automotive engineering due to good acoustical attenuation, excellent strength to weight ratio, vibration isolation, and dielectric properties. These foams are fabricated by incorporation of hollow particles in a matrix material. The most preferred matrix materials are polymers. In this study silicone resin (useful temperature range - 53C to 232°C) was selected as a binder material. Glass bubbles were incorporated into the silicone resin at three different mass percentages (10%, 20%, and 30%). The density of the silicone was reduced more than 50% by 30% glass bubble contribution. The foam mechanical properties were investigated in a room temperature and after heat treatment at 500C by quasi-static compression experiments. Microstructural transitions by the temperature raises were examined by using scanning electron microscopy pictures. It was observed that the increase of glass bubble percentage in silicone rubber enhanced the energy absorption properties in the heat treated and room temperature specimens. Plateau stress and densification amount were improved under quasi-static compression load by the glass bubble percentage increase. It can be said that developed syntactic foams can be used in heat resistant, low weight and high compression strength exigencies.

The purpose of this study was to determine the diagnostic importance of coagulation parameters in cattle with natural theileriosis. Nine Holstein cross-breed cattle with theileriosis as infected group and 6 healthy Holstein cattle as control group were used in the present study. Mean fibrinogen level, thrombin time (TT), activated partial thromboplastin time (aPTT) and prothrombin time (PT) were not statistically different when control and infected groups compared, except for the D-dimer concentration. Quantitative D-dimer concentrations were determined by immune-turbidimetric assay. D-dimer values increased significantly (p<0.05) in infected group (631.55 ± 74.41 μg/L) compared to control group (370.00 ± 59.94 μg/L). D-dimer sensitivity and specificity were also determined at cut-off concentrations (372 μg/L). Sensitivity and specificity of D-dimer values were determined to be 88.89% and 83.33%, respectively. D-dimer is thought to be important indicator in the evaluation of the prognosis in theileriosis cases. Analysis of D-dimer values before and after treatment in controlled case studies were suggested in future studies to enlighten the issue.

Recently PF resins can be also prepared by the addition of urea because urea accelerates cure process of PF resin, reduces the cost and improves its strength performance. Clays have long been used as inorganic fillers in polymer systems because of low cost, availability and improved thermal properties of resulting polymer composites. Clay nanocomposites of different types yield a marked increase in a number of properties of thermoplastic and other resins and composites. This study investigates the variation of thermal properties of PUF/colored organoclay nanocomposites with increased colored clay ratio. For this the DSC, XRD, FT-IR and HRTEM analyses were made. The XRD patterns and HRTEM images showed that clay platelets were exfoliated at the lower contents of organoclay, whereas at the higher content of organo clay tactoids were observed. The XRD analysis results implied that the amorphous behaviour increased with increased content of colored organoclay. The DSC thermograms indicated that glassy transition temperature (T_{g}) was increased, appearing prominent crystallization peaks at the lower ratios of organoclay. The T_{g} value was partially decreased and the peak intensities gradually decreased with increased content of clay. The thermogram for composite with clay content of 20% was similar to the thermogram of virgin resin. This can be attributed to the shifting of the textural structure for this composite from prominent crystalline structure to amorphous one.

Urea-formaldehyde (UF) resin which is one of the most important wood adhesives is a polymeric condensation product of the chemical reaction of formaldehyde with urea, and considered as the most important type of adhesive resins for the production of particleboards. The present study is aimed to preparation and characterization of urea/formaldehyde/Rosa Canina sp. seeds - and urea/formaldehyde/ Rosa Canina sp. seeds/organo clay composites and also to determine the utility as an alternative and low cost material to manufacture particleboard. The synthesis of various composites was carried out using fresh Rosa Canina sp. seeds, typical agricultural waste, in its changing ratios from 7.7 to 83.3 wt%. Also, some of the composite mixtures were prepared by adding organo clay (0.17-3.3 wt%) in a constant ratio of 1/1 wt of urea and formaldehyde. The structural and mechanical characterization of samples was performed by X-ray diffraction, Fourier transform infrared spectra, high resolution transmission electron microscopy images and measurements of Shore D and scratch hardness. The analysis results conclude that organo clay platelets dispersed as simultaneously intercalated and exfoliated in resin matrix and also the increased organo clay ratio led to increase in the hardness values of samples.

Recently, so-called "phenol-formaldehyde-urea resins", which are generally made only by mechanical blending of UF resin and alkaline type PF resins, have been used as adhesives for the manufacturing of wood products. Faster curing PF resins can be also prepared by the addition of urea during or after the resin synthesis to yield co-condensed phenol-urea-formaldehyde (PUF) resins. In this study, resin/clay composites were prepared by in situ polymerization of phenol(18.2%)-urea(36.3%)-formaldehyde(45.5%) (PUF) with the various ratios of organoclay (7.69-45.45%) and colored organoclay (3.22-20.0%). The objective of our work is the investigation of the effect of addition of both organoclay and colored organoclay at different ratios on the textural characteristics. The composites are characterized by X-ray diffraction, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy techniques and using high resolution transmission electron microscopy images of the samples. It was found that clay layers exfoliated in the resin matrix.
