Redundancy based methods are proactive scheduling methods for solving the Project Scheduling Problem (PSP) with non-deterministic activities duration. The fundamental strategy of these methods is to estimate the activities duration by adding extra time to the original duration. The extra time allows to consider the risks that may affect the activities durations and to reduce the number of adjustments to the baseline generated for the project. In this article, four methods based on redundancies were proposed and compared from two robustness indicators. These indicators were calculated after running a simulation process. On the other hand, linear programming was applied as the solution technique to generate the baselines of 480 projects analyzed. Finally, the results obtained allowed to identify the most adequate method to solve the PSP with probabilistic activity duration and generate robust baselines.

Opis:
Acquisition of digital skills by faculty members is a significantly important step when it comes to integrating ICT in teaching. In light of that, this study aims to describe and analyse faculty members’ training in ICT in all faculties of education within Spanish public universities. The paper hereby presented describes results from 1,145 professors, obtained by an ad hoc online questionnaire. Both data and results have been obtained from one of the instrument dimensions: received teaching training and professors’ perception of their own training. This instrument consists of 25 items. Results show the need for more profound training regarding the optimisation of ICT didactic and pedagogic potential in class, as well as an integrated approach to pedagogy, digital literacy and knowledge.

Cocaine consumption is one of the most relevant public health issues in America and Europe. There are different methods to estimate cocaine consumption, with different levels of accuracy. Although surveys is one of the most employed methods, it usually underestimates cocaine consumption. Recent studies have validated the use of wastewater analysis as the method that would provide more accurate results, as it is based on the analysis of residues of illicit drugs and their metabolites that are excreted by human flow through wastewater treatment plants. This study aims to estimate cocaine consumption in the southeast of Spain by wastewater analysis. Samples were analyzed by liquid chromatography coupled to tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS). According to this analysis, cocaine consumption has been estimated at 410,6 milligrams per day and per 1000 inhabitants, a higher result than that obtained at other European cities of similar size. Highest consumption occurs during the weekend, which is consistent with cocaine being categorized as a recreational drug. The results of this analysis show that cocaine use is an increasing public health and economic problem. Finally, wastewater analysis offers different options to estimate its use at this region of Spain.

The purpose of this study was to compare the effects of a physical education-based stretching program performed during warm-up and cool-down periods on hamstring extensibility in schoolchildren aged 9- 10 years. A sample of 73 schoolchildren, 36 boys and 37 girls, aged 9-10 years old from three classes were clustered randomly assigned to a no-training group (n = 24), warm-up group (n = 25), or cooldown group (n = 24). During physical education classes, the students of the warm-up and cool-down groups performed a four-minute stretching program twice a week for ten weeks during the warm-up and the cool-down periods, respectively. Hamstring extensibility was estimated by the classic sit-and-reach test at the beginning and at the end of the stretching intervention program. The results of the ANOVA showed that both the warm-up and cool-down students had statistically significant higher values on the hamstring extensibility than the no-training students (p < 0.05). The warm-up and cool-down groups did not show statistically significant differences. Nevertheless, the cool-down students obtained a slightly higher magnitude effect when compared with the warm-up group (g = 0.67 and g = 0.56, respectively). In addition to the slight higher improvement during the cool-down, due to the negative effect of static stretching on performance as previously found in the literature, it seems that physical education teachers should improve students´ flexibility during the cool-down period of the sessions.

The usefulness of ICT in language learning is unquestionable nowadays. There are many digital educational resources available for foreign and second language teachers, materials which are progressively acquiring an important role in the teaching-learning process. In order to respond to the increasing presence of such technologies in the classroom, teachers need to acquire digital and media competences, two key elements for lifelong training process. However, these are superficially addressed in teacher education. In this light, both in-training and in-service educators demand more skills and specific training to be able to teach students how to use technologies and, ultimately, help them develop their own digital and media competences. Following an exhaustive bibliographical revision of scientific literature in the field, this theoretical paper seeks to revise the concepts of digital and media competences as well as to reflect on how superficially they are addressed at universities and teacher-training centres. After this, the importance of both competences as key elements for teachers is brought to light, as well as some useful suggestions to help foreign and second language teachers acquire and develop them and, simultaneously, teach them to their students.

Scholars all over the world have been arguing for foreign language instruction which combines linguistic and cultural content. Eliminating the cultural side results in a deficient process. This study explored prospective teachers’ perceptions of both constituents, since they will ultimately be responsible for their implementation in the foreign language classroom. To this end, 137 students from three European universities were chosen and asked to fill out an online questionnaire with Likert scale items. Data was collected and interpreted using the free statistics software package R (R Core Team, 2019). The findings confirmed that the relevance of linguistic / cultural issues was unanimously acknowledged (98,5%), speaking was appointed as the most desired target skill (97,1%), interpersonal relations (88,3%) as the most important aspect of socio-cultural knowledge, and lessons with native speakers (94,2%) as the most relevant classroom resource

Strength training in adolescents is one of the pending subjects of Physical Education. Habitually, improvements in physical condition are solely and exclusively related to training in aerobic resistance. The objective of this study was to assess the effects of the incorporation of Crossfit along with aerobic games on aerobic capacity over a period of 8 weeks in a group of teens during their physical education sessions at the school. The study examined 82 subjects between 16-18 years of age, who were high school students. 40 women and 42 men were distributed into two groups, experimental and control. The results indicate that the effect on aerobic capacity measured through the course navette test is significantly positive through the inclusion of crossfit methodology along with aerobic games in physical education sessions.

Przestępstwo molestowania seksualnego stało się dyskusyjne po noweli kodeksu karnego Ustawą 1/2015 z dnia 30 marca 2015 r., gdyż zostało uregulowane jako szczególna forma molestowania. Dlatego też stosowne wydaje się omówienie tego przestępstwa, zwracając szczególną uwagę między innymi na przedmiot ochrony, stronę przedmiotową, zagrożenie karne oraz zbiegi.
The crime of sexual harassment has become controversial since the Criminal Code was amended by the Act 1/2015 of 30 March 2015, because it was classified as a special form of harassment. That is why it seems to be necessary to discuss this type of crime drawing special attention, inter alia, to the object of protection, the objective element, potential penalty and concurrence.

Terminological study of Nueba ymbención y demonstración de la quadratura del círculo of Diego Arias de Tavoada (1646) This geometrical treatise, entitled Nueba ymbención y demonstración de la quadratura de el círculo, was inspected in the files and catalogues of the Brussels Royal Albert I Library. Its first value is that has not been described by specialists. This work also proves the contribution of the Flemish publishers to spread the scientific production about various aspects during the 16th and 17th centuries, not only of literature or dictionaries and grammars, but the scientific works that were attended by the typesetter from Antwerp. With the study of this treatise we intend to show the enormous interest that the analysis of the scientific language acquire for the history of the Spanish language.

Time is a key variable in the field of economics and finance. However, most of the classic approaches to economic problems are static. In this paper, we first review the existing literature on the use of multiobjective techniques to control dynamic systems within the area of economics and finance. We also tackle the question of which measure should we use to evaluate alternative solutions. To this end, we elaborate on the meaning added by the selection of a parameter in a family of distance functions used to evaluate alternative solutions.

A hydroponic trial was conducted to study the effect of chloride salinity in simulated effluent on Cd accumulation by tobacco. Leaf surface area (LSA) and root surface area (RSA) measurements were incorporated as possible determinants of Cd uptake rate by plants. Results showed that individual plant differences in Cd content were normalized when including RSA to express Cd uptake rates by plants but not including LSA. A biotic ligand model (BLM) fitted to predict Cd uptake, estimated active and almost linear uptake of the free Cd2+ ion by tobacco plants, while virtually no changes in the chloride complex (CdCl+) uptake were predicted, presumably due to a rapid saturation of the hypothetical root sorption sites at the concentrations used in this trial. Nicotiana tabacum var. K326 is evidenced to be a species potentially suitable for biological wastewater treatment using rhizofiltration at concentrations commonly found in salt-affected wastewater, with high Cd accumulation (185 to 280 mg/kgdm) regardless of water salinity and tolerance up to 80 mmol/L NaCl.

El presente artículo afronta una de las cuestiones más problemáticas en la vida cristiana: cómo conjugar la vida espiritual con el apostolado. En este momento en el que la Iglesia se plantea la Nueva Evangelización como su gran reto, la comprensión de ambas dimensiones de la vida cristiana necesita de una urgente integración. Teresa de Jesús en su tiempo también sufrió la disyuntiva, que la ocupó y preocupo durante toda su vida. Ella no podía contentarse con ser una monja de clausura, deseaba ayudar a Cristo en su misión. Teresa nos ayuda a encontrar una solución “experiencial y evangélica” a esta disyuntiva.
This article addresses one of the most problematic issues in the Christian life: how to combine the spiritual life and the apostolate. At this moment in which the Church raises the new evangelization as its major challenge, the understanding of both dimensions of Christian life needs urgent integration. Teresa of Jesus in her time also suffred this dilemma, which kept her preoccupied during her lifetime. She could not be content being a cloistered nun, she wanted to help Christ in his mission. Teresa helps us discover an “experiential and Evangelical” solution to this dilemma.

La Comisión Europea (2018) respalda la apuesta por la tecnología digital como mecanismo enriquecedor de las oportunidades de aprendizaje, puesto que, con su aplicación, se incrementan las prácticas innovadoras en la enseñanza de lenguas extranjeras. Ello, sin duda, contribuirá fomentar nuevas pedagogías de aprendizaje en el marco de una enseñanza presencial progresivamente más digitalizada, a la vez que permitirá reforzar la adquisición de la competencia comunicativa en español. Recuérdese, por otro lado, que una de las competencias clave del profesorado (Instituto Cervantes 2012) es, precisamente, la incorporación de las TIC para su desempeño docente. El objetivo de esta investigación consiste en evaluar la actual situación de la infraestructura de los espacios virtuales para el aprendizaje en la era digital. Para ello, nos fijaremos en los materiales y recursos ofrecidos en una plataforma electrónica de ELE en línea en el marco de las iniciativas vinculadas a la modernización de la enseñanza del español. Finalmente, se constata la obligación por parte de los docentes así como de las editoriales y los profesionales del sector de atender los procesos de innovación y adaptar los recursos tecnológicos para potenciar la autonomía, empoderamiento y aprendizaje de los estudiantes.
