    Opis:
    The changing demography and the progress in medicine, pharmacy, undertaking preventive actions, allow a wider group of people reach the age of aging, and even a longevity. Unparalleled in the human history number of people will reach and exceed the ninetieth and hundredth year of life. Therefore the main aim of this study was to determine the level of the sense of the quality of life for generations of 90+ and comparing it with the sense of the quality of life for people in earlier stages of aging (75–89, 60–74). The sense of the quality of life was defined as a multidimensional occurence, including four main spheres of man’s functioning: psychophisical, psychosocial, subjective and metaphisical (spiritual).

Artykuł charakteryzuje pracę psychologa z uczniem, zespołem klasowym, współpracę z nauczycielami i rodzicami. Ponadto opisuje prawne podstawy pomocy psychologicznej udzielanej w szkole oraz dokumentację prowadzoną przez psychologa szkolnego.
    The article is a synthetical guide for psychology students and beginner psychologists who plan to work in educational institutions. It also serves as a point of reference for professionally active educational psychologists who would like to verify and complete the range of activities they perform. The functions of a psychologist described in the paper may also be of a point of interest for pedagogues, teachers and parents who would like to acquire a better understanding of a kind of help they may expect from an educational psychologist. The article constitutes the characteristics of a school psychologist’s work in relation to an individual student and the whole class, as well as the psychologist’s cooperation with teachers and parents. Moreover, it describes the legal basis of psychological assistance provided at school, the documentation and record keeping.

    Aims: The modern scientific publishing system suffers from many problems, amongst which one of the most important  is the pressure to publish positive results. A potentially simple way to mitigate publication bias are reviews of manuscript, prior to the data collection and analyses, as well as results presentation and discussion (i.e. Registered Reports). Methods: To test this prediction we conducted a quasi-experiment: two groups of students (n=38), as a part of their academic classes, were asked to design and conduct research projects. They were divided in two groups – Registered Reports- and control group. In both groups students have been encouraged to publish their papers in a local scientific journal. Results: Analyses revealed significant differences in p levels between groups, suggesting more reliable scores for Registered Reports group. Conclusions: Our study partially confirmed the  stated hypothesis and suggested, that registered reports might mitigate publication bias. Future recommendations are advised.

    Opis:
    Anaemia is one of the most significant factors that lead to deteriorated quality of life and limited therapeutic possibilities in cancer patients. When treating chronic anaemia associated with a neoplastic disease, one should consider RBC transfusion or the use of recombinant human erythropoiesis-stimulating agents (ESA). In 2007, following the golden era of ESA at the beginning of the 21st century, the American Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued a number of warnings related to the use of ESAs. They concerned, i.e., the increased risk of cancer progression, probability of venous thromboembolism (VTE), and reduced overall survival times. That has led to a decrease in the use of erythropoiesis-stimulating agents in clinical practice. Results of the most recent studies and meta-analyses indicate the possibility of using ESA in patients undergoing palliative myelosuppressive chemotherapy, with haemoglobin levels < 10 g/dl, and without absolute iron deficiency, in order to avoid red cell concentrate transfusions, and with the hope to improve the patient’s quality of life.
