    Zasadniczym problemem poruszonym w tym tekście są różnorodne sposoby definiowania rytmu. Autor dokonuje gruntownego przeglądu definicji i rozmaitych ujęć rytmu pojawiających się w polsko i obcojęzycznych (zwłaszcza francuskich i anglojęzycznych) tekstach teoretycznych, ale sięga także do tekstów kultury, m.in. znanej piosenki Grace Jones Slave to the rhythm.
    This essay discusses different definitions of rhythm. The author thoroughly reviews the different definitions and approaches to rhythm in Polish and foreign-language (especially French and English) theoretical texts. He also refers to the texts of culture, including Grace Jones’s famous song Slave to the rhythm or Edward Pasewicz’s poem Sonata o rytmie [Sonata about rhythm].

    This text aims at a description of the famous manifesto published by the group Tel Quel in France in 1968. The author gives a short analysis of chosen texts by Michel Foucault, Jacques Derrida, Roland Barthes and particularly Julia Kristeva. The analysis shows important links between politics and literary theory of the Tel Quel. It also shows the way that politics and theory (based on such intertexts as Marx, Freud and Lacan) influenced new notion of the text, of the intertextuality and the others.

    This text presents a very special creative process, which is an absolute exception in world literature. It is about the formation of My Century by Aleksander Wat and about various types of errors that were revealed during the preparation of the new edition of this work. The errors that appear in previous editions of My Century are of a varied nature. These are primarily “memory errors” of the author himself, there are also errors resulting from faulty listening to the recordings or technical faults in several recordings, and finally errors that are difficult to classify and explain, and which may be associated with exceptional difficulties with establishing the facts.

    Błoński and ProustThis is the comparative reading of Jan Błoński’s book Widzieć jasno w zachwyceniu and Roland Barthes’ essay entitled „Longtemps, je me suis couché de bonne heure”. Błoński’s book was first published in 1965. Barthes wrote his text in 1978 and he didn’t read Błoński. The parallels and similarities between both texts are really striking: the question of rhythm of Proust’s novel, the problem of literary genre, critical affect of the reader etc.

    The subject of the text is a very special case of the functioning of an anagram in literature, when it becomes a quasi-literary genre. The author presents, in many different examples, the traditional approach to the anagram as a stylistic figure, indicating its various uses in culture and also in everyday life. He also discusses an anagram in terms of Ferdinand de Saussure, who studied phonetic anagrams, e.g. in Homer or in the Vedic texts. Referring to the works of the Scottish poet Ian Hamilton Finley, Adam Dziadek discusses anagram as a quasi-literary genre. The anagram itself is a thematic phenomenon in Finley’s work and described in various ways in metatextual statements. In this quasi-genre, the classical patterns of anagrams are combined with phonetic anagrams, what counts here is the semantic sphere of the work, but equally important is the sphere of sound, the sound focalization, which expands semantic fields and surprisingly associates or binds distant words. Finley defines anagrams in many different ways. On the one hand, when defining them, he refers to letter transpositions, combinations, pivots, compositions, but some of his definitions form poetic sentences. Anagram becomes a practice of thinking, writing, and arranging poetic texts, and at the same time designs its own reception, which also includes sound focalization. Finley’s anagrams are short poetic poems, the composition is based on transpositions and letter combinations. Single anagrams are arranged in a series of poems.

    The author makes an attempt at an analysis of the original text „Roland Barthes par Roland Barthes" from the point of view of narration and identity. The fundamental question emerging from the analysis of the text is that of how it is possible to write about oneself at all, writing an autobiography and what obstacles are presented to this kind of writing by language itself and by history. This is proven by unequivocal analyses of personal forms appearing and playing a special role in „RB par RB".

    Jest to fragment przygotowywanej w tej chwili przez autora książki z zakresu krytyki genetycznej, a zatytułowanej Semiografia rękopisu. Artykuł poświęcony przed-tekstom i ich wpływowi na re-lacje intertekstualne. Badanie przed-tekstów umożliwia odsłonięcie relacji intertekstualnych, które w znaczący sposób uzupełniają dotychczasowe interpretacje poszczególnych utworów. Uświadamiają też f akt, że tekst raz już wydrukowany pozostaje otwarty, nieskrępowany i nieograniczony – dzięki badaniom jego przed-tekstów perspektywy lektury ulegają znaczącemu rozszerzeniu i pozwalają postawić wiele znaczących pytań ściśle związanych z genezą tekstu. Przestrzeń intertekstualna nie ogranicza się jedynie do świadomych, teleologicznych referencji, ponie-waż otwiera się na pole nieświadomego.
    The present paper is a part of work in progress – a book on genetic criticism entitled Semiografia rękopisu. This text is devoted to avant-texts and their influence on intertextual relations. The avant-text research makes it possible to reveal intertextual relations that significantly complement the previous interpretations of indicidual works. They also help realize the fact that any text once printed remains open, uninhibited and unbound – thanks to the research into its avant-texts, reading perspectives are significantly expanded and allow to pose a lot of significant questions related to the genesis of the text. Intertextual space is not limited only to con-scious, teleological references, because it opens to the field of the unconscious.

    The text is a synthetic description of Edward Pasewicz’s poetic work, which is included within the “plan for a somatic criticism.” The key operational concept used to describe this poetry is rhythm, which spreads out on all the levels of expression like a theme in a story and makes the texts of every poet unique and original. The rhythm is closely linked with the process of listening and with the body itself, which generates it. Following Charlers Berstein, the author performs an act of Close Listening, attempting to point out the relations between rhythm, the sphere of sound in Pasewicz’s poetic texts, and a speaking subject.
