Opis:
Currently, methane gas disasters in underground coal mines are a major problem which seriously threatens safe mining. This study employed soundless chemical demolition for fracturing coal seams with low permeability. Additionally, the fracturing theory and failure mechanisms of soundless chemical demolition agents were investigated. Materials such as CaO, naphthalene-based water reducer, sodium gluconate and silicate cement were used to prepare the novel soundless chemical demolition agent, whose optimum proportion was discovered to be 90:3:5:7 by carrying out orthogonal experiments. The innovative demolition agent cracked briquettes and the maximum width of cracks reached 16.33 mm, showing significant potential for improving the permeability of coal seams.

Opis:
In contrast to traditional coal separation, dry separation does not require water and does not cause water pollution. Dense phase gas–solid fluidized beds are used for dry separation. The plugged holes in the air distributor should be tested to ensure the stability of these beds for particle separation. The pressure fluctuation is sensitive to these plugged holes. This sensitivity can be tested and diagnosed by determining the standard deviation of the pressure fluctuation. In areas with partial blockage, that is the areas with weak fluidization, a decrease in the volume fraction of the particles and in the pressure differences in the transverse of the bed results in an increase of the standard deviation of the pressure fluctuation, thereby stimulating the lateral mixing of medium-sized particles. The standard deviation and the mixing intensity decrease axially. The value of sensitivity of the plugged holes in the air distributor decreases as the height of the bed increases. The features of air distributors affect the surrounding areas. The distribution law determining the influence of plugged holes on the beds is symmetrical. As the blockage of the fluidized bed distributor region increases, the mean square error of the pressure fluctuation in the related regions increases. The intensity of the effect is proportional to the distance to the plugged holes.

Opis:
Effects of the vibration energy on the fluidization quality and separation performance of dense medium gas-solid fluidized bed were investigated experimentally. The magnetite powder with a wide size range of 0.3-0.074 mm was utilized as the basic medium solids. 6-1 mm fine coal sample from Yongcheng (China) was used to perform the separation experiments. The results indicate that the vibration amplitude A and superficial gas velocity U are greatly significant to the fluidization stability and the density distribution uniformity. Comparing with the bed without vibration, the optimal SP and Sρ values of 0.034 kPa and 0.018 g/cm3 are acquired in vibration bed with the operating factors of A = 1 mm, U = 1.8Umf, f = 15 Hz and Hs = 150 mm. The coal ash content was reduced from 27.84% to 9.50% at a separating density of 1.68 g/cm3 with a probable error E value of 0.505. The separation efficiency of 6-1mm fine coal is effectively improved by introducing vibration energy to dense medium gas-solid fluidized bed. The technology provides a novel approach to achieve high-efficiency separation of 6-1 mm fine coal in the arid and water-shortage areas.

Opis:
Algal inhibiting materials were synthesized by the co-impregnation method. Cerium was taken as an algal inhibiting agent with copper/sepiolite utilized as the carrier. The algal growth inhibition was assessed based on the form of presence and distribution of Cu2+ and Ce3+ ions on the surface of sepiolite using X-ray diffraction (XRD) and SEM analysis. The results indicate that at 5 wt. % Cu content, 0.8 wt. % Ce and after heat treatment at 400 °C, the materials exhibit the best algal inhibiting capacity of 83.11%.

Opis:
The effect of application of attapulgite on the structure and composition of a dynamic membrane (DM) of a bioreactor was investigated by means of the electron microscopy, polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis (DGGE). A significant increase of microbial floc size in the bioreactors upon attapulgite application was observed. The content of cake layer in the hybrid dynamic membrane (HDM) and in the dynamic membrane (DM) in the corresponding bioreactor systems were 44.73 g/m2 and 38.12 g/m2 respectively, while the contents of mineral – 6.09 g/m2 and 5.34 g/m2, respectively. Further, with addition of attapulgite, the concentration of extracellular polymeric substances (EPS) in the HDM bioreactor system decreased, whereas the content of suspended particulate matter increased. Self-DM has a porous structure with high porosity. Mineral sub-stance, including O, Ka, Ca, P, S, Cl, Mg and Si, are the main elements in DM, but the main elements content exhibited an increase trend in DM with attapulgite administration. These results showed a positive correlation between the quantity of bacterial populations and biological removal improvement, which indicated that application of attapulgite could optimize the structure of self-DM in bioreactors.

Opis:
We demonstrate that a physical object in nature should not be described as a fractal, despite an ideal mathematical object, rather a ubiquitiform (a terminology coined here for a finite order self-similar or self-affine structure). It is shown mathematically that a ubiquitiform must be of integral dimension, and that the Hausdorff dimension of the initial element of a fractal changes abruptly at the point at infinity, which results in divergence of the integral dimensional measure of the fractal and makes the fractal approximation to a ubiquitiform unreasonable. Therefore, instead of the existing fractal theory in applied mechanics, a new type of ubiquitiformal one is needed.

Opis:
The ubiquitiformal fracture energy is proposed in the paper and its explicit expression is obtained. Moreover, the numerical results for concrete are found to be in good agreement with those for the critical strain energy release rate. The discrepancy between the numerical results of the traditional fracture energy and the critical strain energy release rate can be explained reasonably, which implies that the ubiquitiformal fracture energy should be taken as an available fracture parameter of materials. Finally, it is numerically found for some concrete that there is not size effect for the ubiquitiformal fracture energy.
