Opis:
This article presents an engineering design of a mechanical rack system along with strength analyses of its main load-bearer parts. The designed mechanical rack system is intended to be mounted in a production hall for storage of rod material with total length of 6 m. The whole structure of this equipment is welded and made of steel profiles. It consists of a main load-bearing part, which comprises a central beam and horizontal beams and four draw-out shelves on each side, which are arranged four levels. Every individual shelve is able to carry the mass of 3.0 t. As the solved rack system is not standardized but designed in compliance with specific requirements of a customer, we had to support the structure carrying capacity with strength calculations. Structural calculations were realized by means of numeric finite element method. Strength analyses were performed for the maximum load cases.

The goal of this article is the fault analysis of combustion engines on the basis of the assessment of dependent variables: initial mileage, annual mileage and the annual number of orders made in the service and repair system compared with the independent factor, i.e. bus make. In the research four vehicle makes were tested: Jelcz M121, Mercedes-Benz Citaro, Solaris Urbino 12 and Autosan Sancity 12LF. The research encompassed the number of faults of a vehicle and its systems, the initial and annual mileage. It was conducted on the basis of 2015 data broken into particular months.

The paper is focused on the proposal regarding the regional transport organization within Integrated Transport System in a given territory using the selected multi-criteria analysis methods. Introductory parts of this research study include basic information related to this topic as well as description of the current state of the public passenger transport operation, specifically the Integrated Transport System,on a particular territory. Subsequent part of the paper consists of specification of all the data and methods used and applied to obtain the final outcomes. The most important part of the paper highlights all the acquired results and proposed recommendations that need to be established to achieve the more appropriate regional transport organization in the examined territory.

Opis:
Support frameworks of transport vehicles operate under varying terrain conditions under the influence of extreme climate and corrosive environments. When transporting cargo, dust is deposited on the surface of metal structures. The combination of dust and moisture creates an aggressive environment resulting in intense corrosion damage. The damage is caused by the defects of corrosion pitting, which occur on the surface and transform into corrosion cracks. Based on energy approaches, with the application of well-known results for the mathematical description of electrochemical reactions and the principles of fragile fracture mechanics, an analytical model of durability is proposed for the first time. The model determines the residual life of maximum loaded elements of undercarriages with surface cracks under the action of dynamic loads and corrosive environments. For this case, a set of mathematical relations in the form of a non-linear differential equation was developed, as well as the initial and final conditions for determining the life of vehicles’ structural elements with corrosive surface cracks. The analytical model implementation is proven by solving the problem of determining the residual life of a vehicle’s element, i.e., a steel plate, weakened by a semi-elliptical surface crack, which is under the action of dynamic loads in a 3% sodium chloride solution. The insignificant increase in the crack’s initial size is proven to greatly reduce the period of its subcritical growth. The developed model was applied to define the residual life of thin-walled elements of structures with surface cracks.

Celem artykułu jest analiza liczby uszkodzeń układu hamulcowego. Wstępnym etapem są analizy statystyczne opisujące częstotliwość pojawiania się uszkodzeń tego układu. W niniejszym artykule autorzy przedstawili wyniki takiej analizy dla wybranej grupy autobusów eksploatowanych przez Miejskie Przedsiębiorstwo Komunikacji w Lublinie. Analizę statystyczną uszkodzeń układu hamulcowego przeprowadzono w okresie od 2011 do 2015 roku dla grupy pojazdów marki Jelcz M121M.
The aim of this article is to analyze the number of damage to the braking system. The preliminary stage is the statistical analysis describing the frequency of occurrence of damage of this system. In this article the authors present the results of this analysis for the selected group of buses operated by Municipal Communication Company in Lublin. A statistical analysis of damage to the braking system was carried out in the period from 2011 to 2015 for the group of vehicles Jelcz M121M.

The paper deals with analytical determination of the stress concentrator location on a sample serving for diagnosing multiaxial fatigue lifespan of aluminium alloys, which are applied for reducing weight of road and rail vehicle constructions for acquiring decrease of fuel consumption. This article put emphasis on significance of appropriate sample design and notch location according to the material type and mounting in the testing device. It operates also with suitable welding technology selection and thus ensures input parameters for numerical simulations of selected welding technology. The aim of numerical simulations is obtaining important information that will serve for detailed fatigue lifespan prediction in comparison of base and weld material.
Artykuł dotyczy analitycznego wyznaczania położenia koncentratora naprężeń w próbce służącej do diagnozowania wieloosiowej wytrzymałości stopów aluminium stosowanych do zmniejszenia wagi konstrukcji pojazdów drogowych i kolejowych w celu mniejszego zużycia paliwa. W artykule położono nacisk na znaczenie odpowiednich wymagań technicznych próbki, a także położenia wycięcia w zależności od typu materiału i mocowania w urządzeniu do testowania. Poruszono również kwestię wyboru odpowiedniej technologii spawania, dzięki czemu parametry wejściowe dla numerycznych symulacji wybranej technologii spawania są dobierane we właściwy sposób. Celem symulacji numerycznych jest uzyskanie ważnych informacji, które posłużą do przewidywania szczegółowej wytrzymałości zmęczeniowej w odniesieniu do materiału rodzimego i złącza spawanego.

Opis:
The effect of nitrogen ion implantation on Stellite 6 cobalt alloy was investigated. In this research, cobalt alloy was implanted with 65 keV nitrogen ions at the fluence of (1÷10)×10¹⁶ N⁺/cm². The distribution of implanted nitrogen ions and vacancies produced by them was calculated using the SRIM program. The surface morphology was examined and the elemental analysis was performed using scanning electron microscopy, energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy and grazing incidence X-ray diffraction. The wear tests were conducted with the use of the pin-on-disc method. The results demonstrate that implantation with nitrogen ions significantly reduces the friction factor and wear. The friction coefficient of the implanted sample at the fluence of 1×10¹⁷ N⁺/cm² increased to the values characteristic of an unimplanted sample after 5000 measurement cycles. The depth of the worn trace was about 2.0 μm. This implies that the thickness of the layer modified by the implantation process is ≈2.0 μm and exceeds the initial range of the implanted ions by an order of magnitude. This is referred to as a long-range implantation effect. The investigations have shown that the long-range effect is caused by movement of not only implanted nitrogen atoms but also carbon dopant atoms towards the friction zone. Diffusion of carbon atoms has been documented here for the first time. Furthermore, the increased content of oxygen atoms on the track bottom indicates a dominant oxidative wear of the Stellite samples after nitrogen implantation with the energy 65 keV and the fluences of 5×10¹⁶ and 10¹⁷ N⁺/cm².

The phenomenon of the present postal services is the fact that, customers expect the lowest price while maintaining the availability, security and on time delivery of mail items. We can find that, the costs associated with transport of the postal substrate is one of the most important factors affecting the total cost of the postal services. These transport costs depend on various factors such as the investment in vehicles purchase, operational costs of the postal vehicles (costs of maintenance, repairs, fuel costs of the vehicle, etc.) labour costs of the drivers and so on. For this reason, it is important to find such an operational - organizational solutions that can reduce the costs associated with the transportation of postal shipments, resulting in reducing the total cost of postal services. One option to do this is to minimize the length of postal transportation routes. This article presents the approach based on the application of graph theory to optimize existing connections of postal logistics network. Published results is oriented to revaluate existing position of local centre and find a location for the new local distribution centre potentially. New location of local distribution centre can to optimize (minimize) the total transport costs of the local postal transportation network in area of the Lublin Province.

The intense human activity determines the continuous development of systems and means of transport, which contributes to the intensification of existing road traffic risks and the emergence of new ones. Reduction in the number of fatalities of road accidents is dependent on investment in transport infrastructure, the development of safety systems for means of transport and the care for the technical condition of vehicles. Furthermore, the human factor is manifested in the growing awareness of hazards and improving skills of vehicle drivers. The article presents the construction, operating principles and technical capabilities of the most commonly used hydraulic rescue tools. All this was presented against the background of selected problems occurring during rescue operations while releasing victims caught in car wrecks.

A new method of refractory metal (like Mo and Ta) ion beam production using the arc discharge ion source and CCl₂F₂ (dichlorodifluoromethane) used as a feeding gas supported into the discharge chamber is presented. It is based on etching of the refractory metal parts (e.g. anode or a dedicated tube) Cl and F containing plasma. The results of measurements of the dependences of ion currents on the working parameters like discharge and filament currents as well as on the magnetic field flux density of an external electromagnet coil are shown and discussed. The separated Mo⁺ and Ta⁺ beam currents of approximately 22 μA and 2 μA, respectively, were obtained.

W artykule poruszono tematykę związaną z rolą miejskiego transportu publicznego w kształtowaniu oblicza miasta przyjaznego osobom starszym, 65 wieku i więcej. Analizowano miejsce transportu publicznego w różnych programach oceny miast, jako przyjaznych osobą starszym. Światowa Organizacja Zdrowia (WHO) wymieniła Transport, jako jeden z 8 obszarów funkcjonowania miasta przyjaznego osobom starszym. W pracy przeprowadzono analizę roli miejskiego systemu transportowego w istniejących programach oceny jakości życia w mieście. Omówiono znaczenie takich kryteriów jak dostępność transportu a w tym m.in. znaczenie odległości do przystanku oraz parametry konstrukcyjne pojazdów ułatwiające korzystanie z nich przez osoby starsze. Na podstawie przeprowadzonych analiz materiałów opisujących znaczenie różnych czynników w kształtowaniu miasta przyjaznego osobom starszym można stwierdzić, że zalecenia określone w 2001 roku przez Światową Organizację Zdrowia (WHO) w istotnym stopniu uwzględniają rolę transportu publicznego oraz najpełniej wskazują, jakie działania należy podejmować w poprawianiu dostępności tej formy przemieszczania się na terenie miasta nie tylko osobom starszym.
The article discusses the role of urban public transport in shaping of an age-friendly city for older people, 65 years and over. The World Health Organization (WHO) has named transport as one of the 8 key areas for the functioning of an age-friendly city. The paper analyzes the role of the urban transport system in the existing programs of assessing the quality of life in the city. It also examines the importance of such criteria as accessibility of transport, including the significance of the distance to the bus stop and the vehicles’ constructional parameters which facilitate their use by the elderly. Basing on the analysis of the various factors that contribute to the creation of an age-friendly city, the paper argues that the 2001 recommendations of the World Health Organization (WHO) make an important contribution to the role of urban public transport and show which measures should be taken to improve its accessibility to senior citizen as well as other age groups.

The current very rapid technological development of means of transport with the accompanying high economic demands gives rise to their modernization, which is technically and financially particularly advantageous. One of the dominant processes in this reality is modernization of diesel locomotives that seeks, in particular, to improve their operating characteristics, energy, environmental and also maintenance parameters. This paper deals with diagnostics and troubleshooting on a modernized diesel-electric locomotive series 757 ZSSK, a.s. We present details on this traction vehicle diagnostics and specific diagnostic files that originated in real operating conditions, with the subsequent solving of diagnostic problems and tasks.
Obecnie bardzo szybki rozwój technologiczny środków transportu wraz z wysokimi wymaganiami ekonomicznymi wymusza ich ciągłą modernizację. Jest to szczególnie istotne pod względem technicznym oraz korzystne finansowo. Modernizacja spalinowych lokomotyw poprawia nie tylko ich właściwości użytkowe i obsługowe, ale także zmniejsza zużycie energii oraz negatywne ich oddziaływanie na środowisko w rzeczywistych warunkach eksploatacji. W niniejszym artykule przedstawiono metodykę diagnostyki stanu technicznego zmodernizowanych spalinowo - elektrycznych lokomotyw serii 757. Zaprezentowano szczegóły diagnostyki tego typu pojazdów trakcyjnych wraz z konkretnymi plikami diagnostycznymi, które zostały opracowane w rzeczywistych warunkach eksploatacyjnych. Opisano także sposoby rozwiązywania występujących problemów diagnostycznych i zadań.

Opis:
In this article is analyzed the possible mechanism of cavitation bubbles erosive impact on the working surfaces of equipment. The volume and the size of vapor-gas phase generated in hydrodynamic type mode was theoretically determined and experimentally verified. Here are presented the results of studies of cavitation-erosion resistance of food steel, in particular, that the process of destruction has cyclical pattern.
W artykule przedstawiono oddziaływanie erozji na powierzchnię elementów maszynowych powstałej pod wpływem pęcherzyków kawitacyjnych. Ilość oraz wielkość fazy gazowej w stanie hydrodynamicznym została teoretycznie obliczona oraz doświadczalnie zweryfikowana. Artykuł prezentuje wyniki badań odporności na erozję kawitacyjną stali stosowanej przy produkcji żywności, że szczególnym uwzględnieniem cyklicznego procesu jej destrukcji.
