    Opis:
    This article attempts to describe the means of evaluation applied in French legal language. Analysing verdicts from the French court (Cour de cassation), this paper attempts to show ways to uncover the values system held by the judge. In order to achieve this aim, four groups of evaluative operators (modal truth-functional connectives, amplifying operators, emotive-evaluative modal operators and mental operators) are shown. The corpus under analysis is characterised by three aspects: intentional, conventional and institutional, as it makes references to the group of set convictions concerning the nature of a particular community. Thus one could see here a relation between the values behind the arguments in the verdict and the language used to express them.

    Le discours juridique est à la fois un mélange d'histoire, de tradition, de règles et deformes. La transcription dans la pratique juridique est influencée par le respect des règles d'écriture et des usages acquis. Cela conduit à opacifier l'application des règles en matière de droit non seulement pour le profane, mais également pour la communauté juridique elle-même.La langue juridique présente des structures syntaxiques préférentielles, des marques d’énonciation qui sont des traits morphosyntaxiques à effets sémantiques. La présente communication se propose d’analyser la nominalisation dans cette langue dans un double but : d’une part, pour relever les particularités de la nominalisation des textes normatifs et, d’autre part, pour mettre en évidence à quoi correspond cette construction sur le plan des significations et en quoi elle sert les intérêts de ceux qui l'emploient de préférence à toute autre.
    Legal discourse is a combination of history, tradition, rules and forms. There are specificsyntactic structures and other features typical of legal discourse and having mortho-syntacticfeatures affecting the semantic content of messages. The rules of construction (or in other wordsinterpretation) of legal texts are often unclear and ambiguous for both lay persons and lawyers. The author focuses her attention on nominalisations in the langauge of statutory instruments. Theanalysis aims at showing typical features of nominalised structures in statutory instruments and the purpose of applying them.
    Dyskurs prawniczy jest połączeniem historii, tradycji, reguł i form. Transkrypcja w praktyce prawnej uwarunkowana jest regułami pisania i odpowiednim wykorzystaniem wiedzy. Prowadzi to do nieprzejrzystości w stosowaniu reguł prawa nie tylko dla laika, lecz także dla środowiska prawniczego. Język prawa zawiera bowiem szczególne struktury syntaktyczne, jak również cechy wypowiadania, które są cechami morfo-syntaktycznymi ze skutkami semantycznymi. W niniejszym artykule spróbuję przedstawić analizę nominalizacji w języku prawa. Uczynię to w dwóch celach: po pierwsze, aby wyłonić właściwości nominalizacji tekstów normatywnych, a po drugie, aby zobaczyć jak konstrukcja taka wyraża się na planie znaczeniowym i czemu służy tym, którzy używają ją częściej niż inne inne środki.

    Rola konektorów argumentacyjnych w dyskursie orzeczniczym Przedmiotem artykułu jest próba przedstawienia konektorów argumentacyjnych w języku specjalistycznym na przykładzie francuskiego języka prawniczego. Wychodząc z założenia, że konektory stanowią integralną część struktury każdego orzeczenia sądowego, przedstawimy cechy charakterystyczne wyroków wydawanych przez francuski Sąd Kasacyjny. Spróbujemy pokazać jaka jest ich rola i na czym polega funkcja w tym szczególnym gatunku tekstu.
    The intention of this article is to demonstrate argumentative connectors in language for specific purposes, on the basis of French legal language.  Assuming that connectors comprise an integral part of every judicial decision structure, our intention is to demonstrate some characteristic features of adjudications  given by French court of cassation.  We will intend to show their role and function in this distinctive kind of text.
    Le rôle des connecteurs argumentatifs dans le discours juridictionnel Notre objectif est de réfléchir sur le rôle des connecteurs argumentatifs dans la création d’un texte cohérent du discours juridictionnel. Nous partons de l’idée que les connecteurs font intégralement partie de la structure logique de la décision. C’est pourquoi nous allons présenter la macrostructure des arrêts rendus par la Cour de cassation française. Nous allons tenter de montrer comment l’utilisation des connecteurs participe d’une stratégie générale de construction d’un ethos rationnel et logique pour essayer de mettre en relief la présence des connecteurs argumentatifs dans les jugements de la Cour de cassation.

    Każdy system językowy określany jest przez dwa czynniki: pierwszy z nich to zbiór terminów tworzących leksykę, drugi natomiast to zbiór relacji budujących składnię. Celem niniejszego artykułu jest próba analizy typów relacji semantycznych słownictwa w tekście normatywnym na przykładzie francuskiego Kodeksu Cywilnego. W tym celu przedstawiony został opis relacji hiperonimicznych i meronimicznych właściwych korpusom specjalistycznym. Na tej podstawie spróbowano dokonać analizy wybranego korpusu i wykazać, że wiedza o wspomnianych wyżej relacjach semantycznych między wyrazami wchodzącymi w skład jednego pola semantycznego jest niezbędna zarówno dla prawnika jak i językoznawcy, by unikać wszelkich nieścisłości językowych.
    Each language system is determined by two factors: the first of them is a set of terms forming lexis whereas the second comprises the collection of relationships building syntax. The aim of this article is the attempt to analyze semantic relationship types of vocabulary in the text of the normative character on the basis of the French civil code. For this purpose, the description of the hypernymous and meronymous relationship, typical for specialist corpora will be presented. On this basis we will try to analyse selected corpus and demonstrate that the knowledge of the abovementioned semantic relations between the words-forming part of one semantic field is essential both for a lawyer and a linguist to avoid any conceptual inaccuracies.

Zbadamy cechy charakterystyczne wybranych konektorów i porównamy te mechanizmy w tekstach francuskich i polskich. Pierwsza część pracy zawiera krótki przegląd dotychczasowych badań nad konektorami w literaturze francuskiej i polskiej. W części drugiej przedstawimy korpus porównywalny obejmujący oryginalne teksty francuskie i polskie: zbiorowe układy pracy i statuty z dziedziny piekarstwa-cukiernictwa. W ostatniej, trzeciej, części pracy przeprowadzimy analizę porównawczą wybranych konektorów tworzących relację kontrastu (francuskie mais i polskie ale). La polyfonctionnalite des connecteurs : la relation de contraste dans les textes juridiques comparables relatifs au domaine de la boulangerie-pâtisserie L’objectif de cette analyse est d’observer comment les connecteurs  participent  à la relation de contraste dans les textes relatifs au domaine de la boulangerie-pâtisserie, en d’autres termes, d’examiner ce que leurs caractéristiques intrinsèques confèrent à la création de ces types de relations et de comparer ces phénomènes dans les documents français et polonais. Premièrement, nous allons décrire brièvement l’état des recherches sur les connecteurs dans la littérature française et polonaise. Deuxièmement, nous allons nous pencher sur notre corpus comparable constitué de textes originaux français et polonais : les conventions collectives et les statuts. Puis, nous allons mener l’analyse comparative des connecteurs choisi concernant de la relation de contraste (français mais et polonais ale).
    The aim of the analysis is to investigate how connectors contribute to the relations of contrast in the texts concerning one of the fields of handicraft, i.e. baking and confectionery. We will examine the characteristic features of selected connectors and compare these mechanisms in French and Polish texts. The first part of the study contains a short overview of the current research on connectors in French and Polish literature. In the second part, we present a comparable corpus including original French and Polish texts: collective labour agreements and statutes in the field of baking-confectionery.  In the final, third part of the article, we conduct a comparative analysis of selected connectors showing the relation of contrast (French mais and Polish ale).

    Predication in a legal language Law is connected to a language by means of which it is expressed. The important issue that should be taken into account involves not only understanding and interepretation of a legal language, but also the process of preparing of legal texts as well as their translation and edition. So as to reach the aim, a broad description of linguistic facts in the area of language for special purposes seems to be significant. The analysis of the professional discourse allows distinguishing a spectrum of typical features. The recent research points out the need to describe the phenomenon of predication (verbs, nominals and participles) in order to consider the complexity fo legal language phenomenon (Lerat 2001, 2002, 2008). The main objective of this paper is to give an outline of predication expressed in a legal language by means of the description of the lexical-semantic as well as morpho-syntactic parameters based on the corpus of the selected texts.

    The aim of the present article is to offer a comparative analysis of advertising discourse with regard to the presence and classification of rhetorical figures as an efficient strategy of persuasion. Short commercial texts extracted directly from trade offers of producers, sales companies and online shops, as well as advertisements published on websites and in on-line versions of magazines have been analyzed. Due to limited textual capabilities, we have decided to restrict the scope of the analysis to texts which promote cosmetic products, as well as those that advertise various beauty treatments as a means of improving the appearance and well-being of contemporary women. In order to fully demonstrate the comparative aspect of the study, we have analyzed advertisements of the same products (of commonly known brands) in three linguistic versions, Polish, Italian and French, thus indicating the differences and similarities stemming from the employment of rhetorical figures.
