Opis:: W artykule przedstawiono wyniki analizy funkcjonalności aplikacji wykonanej w technologii .NET Core firmy Microsoft na platformie Raspberry Pi 2. Badania zostały zrealizowane poprzez implementację testowych aplikacji wykorzystujących biblioteki firmy Microsoft oraz opracowane przez społeczność zgromadzoną wokół technologii .NET Core. Skupiono się na zastosowaniu niniejszej technologii w zastosowaniach Internetu Rzeczy. Przy porównaniu brano pod uwagę możliwość wykorzystania interfejsów Raspberry Pi w technologii .NET Core oraz oficjalnie wspieranego języka Python i popularnej technologii Node.js. Porównano również wydajność tych technologii w badanym środowisku sprzętowym.
The paper presents the results of functionality analysis of application made in Microsoft .NET Core technology on Raspberry Pi 2 platform. The research was done by implementing applications using libraries provided by Microsoft and developed by .NET Core community. The focus was placed on usage of this technology in the Internet of Things applications. The comparison of the possibility of using Raspberry Pi interfaces in .NET Core, officially supported Python language and popular Node.js technology was made. The performance of these technologies was also compared.

Opis:: Maritime and coastal areas are the lifeblood of many countries. They are vital to the prosperity of countries because they provide trade routes, regulate the climate, are a source of organic and inorganic resources and energy, and provide a place for the public to live and relax. Increasingly, however, there are divergences and barriers to the use of marine areas. On the one hand, available and developed technology and knowledge enable increasingly improved use of the sea. On the other hand, the combined effect of these activities leads to conflicts of interest and the deterioration of the marine environment. The purpose of this study is to analyze the feasibility of using automatic identification system (AIS) maritime traffic data, in terms of its suitability, to correctly assess the utilization of the potential of a specific fleet within the offshore shipping industry. In addition, the authors undertake the task of determining to what extent activities relating to the GPS position of the ship, ship type (i.e., cargo or passenger), ship status (i.e., aground, anchored, moored, not under command, restricted maneuverability, underway sailing, or underway using its engine), ship draught, service speed, total engine power, and deadweight constitute areas and methods for optimizing the use of the offshore fleet under all the conditions previously described that limit this optimization. Given the stated goal, this paper uses both a literature review procedure and statistical methods to conduct a comparative analysis.

Opis:: Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN) have achieved huge popularity in solving problems in image analysis and in text recognition. In this work, we assess the effectiveness of CNN-based architectures where a network is trained in recognizing handwritten characters based on Latin script. European languages such as Dutch, French, German, etc., use different variants of the Latin script, so in the conducted research, the Latin alphabet was extended by certain characters with diacritics used in Polish language. To evaluate the recognition results under the same conditions, a handwritten Latin dataset was also developed. The proposed CNN architecture produced an accuracy of 96% for the extended character set. This is comparable to state-of-the-art results found in the domain of identifying handwritten characters. The presented approach extends the usage of CNN-based recognition to different variants of the Latin characters and shows it can be successfully used for a set of languages based on that script. It seems to be an effective technique for a set of languages written using the Latin script.

Opis:: Celem opracowania jest próba ukazania wpływu wybranych wrocławskich centrów handlowych na otaczającą je przestrzeń gospodarczą – placówki usługowe. Wybrano pięć centrów handlowych, z których każde reprezentuje jedną z pięciu ich generacji. Z przeprowadzonych badań wynika, że centra handlowe trudno uznać za bezpośrednie zagrożenie dla placówek usługowych funkcjonujących w ich sąsiedztwie. Natomiast realnym zagrożeniem dla placówek usługowych są: 1) supermarkety dyskontowe i ogólnospożywcze, 2) powstające na bazie supermarketów osiedlowe centra handlowe, 3) przywracane do dawnej świetności pawilony handlowe. Tylko niewielka liczba właścicieli placówek usługowych wskazuje na negatywny wpływ centrów handlowych na prowadzoną przez nich działalność. Negatywny wpływ centrów handlowych w szczególności dotyka podmioty gospodarcze prowadzące działalność z zakresu tradycyjnego handlu detalicznego.
The aim of the paper is an attempt at presenting the influence of selected Wroclaw’s shopping malls on their business surroundings – service enterprises. Five shopping malls were selected; each of them presents one of five generations of shopping malls. The research shows that shopping malls are not a direct threat to the functioning of service enterprises located in their vicinity. However, there are other actual threats to the functioning of service enterprises. These are: 1) supermarkets, discount stores, 2) local shopping centres in housing estates basing on supermarkets, 3) old plazas renovated and restored to their old grandeur. Only a small number of the owners of service enterprises indicated at a negative impact of shopping malls on their enterprise. A negative impact of shopping malls is especially discernible in the case of business enterprises that operate in the traditional retail trade.
