    Opis:
    Lower Silesia is an area prodigal with palace-park sets which have been preserved until the present. Localization in this part of Europe because of historical and cultural conditions. Many of the objects preserved until today still have the readable compositional set and we can easily discover the main thought of their creators. The analyzed objects have undergone dramatic changes during the years. Starting with the changes of the park area, devastation of cubature objects, clearing trees to complete liquidation of sets and building small housing estates in their place. The present state of many objects often requires immediate human intervention and large financial inputs. This article is an attempt at systematizing information on the subject of compositional, cultural, historical and landscape value of old parks remaining after the destruction of mansions, which are the cultural element of Lower Silesia heritage.

    Palm trees experience their revival. They are becoming commonly used in interior arrangements, recreational management of space in town, the example of which may be the city beaches by the Spree in Berlin. Palm trees are also symbolic of martyrdom, victory and eternal life. The present article presents in its first part a short review of chosen kinds and types of palms with brief morphological characteristics. The possibilities of making use of these comely trees in landscape architecture have been included in the review. The symbol of the palm has also been applied in design and architectural constructions through palmettoes, ornaments or palm tree vaulting. The following text is an attempt to draw attention to the prevailing "palm fashion".

    Many manor parks are to be found in Lower Silesia countryside. Within the suburban communes, as: Długołęka, Prusice, Sobótka situated nearby Wrocław, almost 50% of the villages still have the manor parks. They are mostly overgrown and neglected by their post-war users, such as schools or the agricultural cooperatives. After the socio-political transformation from the early 1990s, the private persons have started to buy the better preserved parks, which are recently well maintained. The new types of devastation derive from the vast sprawl of the housing areas. The architectural forms of the buildings are often inspired by historical shapes and details of the neighbouring palaces, although the visual effects of highly differentiated houses grouped on the small sites can be estimated as far from the expectations of the owners. The paper points at the difficulties in combining the short-term economic and social goals with the requirements of greenery preservation and maintenance.

    This paper reports the test results of the Transcarpathian zeolite grain size on the cement-zeolite pastes properties. Materials used in this study included CEM I 42.5R and the zeolite chiefly composed of clinoptilolite. Tests were performed to determine the setting times, hydration kinetics and phase composition of pastes, and the consistency and compressive strength of mortars. It was demonstrated that the degree of fineness of zeolite had a significant effect on its pozzolanic properties, thereby affecting the properties of mortars. Depending on the zeolite gradation, the compressive strength of mortars can increase or decrease. Likewise, the zeolite fineness can contribute to higher or lower flowability of mortars compared to the mortars without the mineral additive.
    W pracy zaprezentowano wyniki badań wpływu rozdrobnienia zeolitu zakarpackiego na właściwości zaprawy cementowo-zeolitowej. W badaniach użyto dostępnego na polskim rynku cementu CEM I 42,5R oraz zeolitu, który w głównej mierze składał się z klinoptilolitu. Przeprowadzono badania czasu wiązania, kinetyki hydratacji i składu fazowego w zaczynie oraz badania konsystencji i wytrzymałości na ściskanie zapraw. Stwierdzono, że rozdrobnienie zeolitu ma istotny wpływ na jego właściwości pucolanowe, a przez to i na właściwości zaprawy. W zależności od uziarnienia zeolitu wytrzymałość na ściskanie zapraw może rosnąć lub maleć. Podobnie z uwagi na rozdrobnienie zeolitu płynność zaprawy może być mniejsza lub większa od płynności zaprawy bez dodatku mineralnego.

    In the paper, the PROP10 program is used to present the time-average sound level on façades of buildings in the vicinity of a crossroads. The propagation model within an urban system forming canyon streets includes the wave interaction with obstacles, multi-reflections from building walls and single and double diffraction at their wedges. For the current purpose the program is provided with a road model in which the vehicle route is divided into sub-segments with lengths and linear densities of emitted energy that depend on the traffic organization in the vicinity of the crossroads. The lengths of the sub-segments, where vehicles wait and are forced to a subsequent start and stop, depend on the flow rates on lanes, the equivalent vehicle length, the red and green light times and the speed of leaving a crossroads. The linear energy density at these sub-segments depends on a parameter characterizing the energy emitted during the starting of a vehicle. The time-average sound level is analyzed as a function of the enumerated parameters.

    In the paper, the simulation PROP5 program with the road model defined as a noise source and road surroundings model, is used to predict the efficiency of noise protecting means for the chosen building. The appropriate models of verified accuracy have been chosen by comparison of the simulation results with field measurements (Walerian et al., 2010). Here, using the pre-tested simulation program, the possibility of acoustic climate improvement has been analyzed in the ranges of practical variations of the input parameters. The road parameters: its geometry (number of lanes and their positions) and traffic structure over lanes (vehicle flow rates and their average speeds) have been taken under consideration as changeable parameters, that could be corrected to obtain acoustical climate improvement. Moreover, an acoustical screen designing has been considered. The screen efficiency has been evaluated under conditions defined by the input parameters of the road and its surroundings.

    In the paper, the simulation PROP5 program is used to predict the sound level in proximity of a road with defined surroundings. The simulation involves road geometry (number of lanes and their positions) and traffic structure (vehicle flow rates and their average speeds), with equivalent omnidirectional point sources representing vehicles. In Part I of the paper, the agreement between measurement and simulation results is tested to verify the accuracy degree of the applied models of a road, as a noise source and propagation throughout surrounding space. In Part II, using the pre-tested simulation program, the possibility of acoustic climate improvement has been analyzed.
