    Opis:
    The article presents the results of representative surveys on readership conducted in Poland by the National Library and the problems of promoting reading by public institutions. In view of the general decline of reading and its intensity special attention should be paid to the role of public libraries. A new model of public libraries, and their new forms of activity create the potential of promoting reading. There are presented data illustrating the current status and condition of Polish public libraries. The condition of libraries depends on the policy of local government are very diversed. The National Programme for the Development of Reading was adopted by the Council of Ministers of the multiannual program for the years 2016-2020, in order to improve readership in Poland by strengthening the role of public libraries and school as local centers of social life which are the center of access to culture and knowledge.

    The bill is aimed to effectively regulate the profession of psychologist because of the failure to implement the previous Act on the profession of psychologist and professional self-government of psychologists. As no professional self-government for psychologists has been established it is now largely a dead law. The new Deputies’ bill is based also on the key role of the professional corpora‑ tion of psychologists and includes proposals for legal definitions. In the author’s view, the blanket nature of the bill on important issues and the lack of a diagnosis of the regulated area may raise concerns about the potential for a repeated regulatory failure.

    The aim of the paper is to present the opinions of Poles on ageing and senior citizens. The main focus is placed on the question of Poles’ attitude towards active ageing, i.e an idea to encourage older people to stay involved as citizens (in various areas, including employment). In order to place mentioned issues in context, the author begins with a review of psychological theories on ageing and its consequences. Next, the results of various public opinion surveys (both nationwide and conducted solely among seniors) on ageing and elderly people are discussed.

    The thesis on overrepresentation was formulated in 2011, based on observations and experiences of support teachers and Roma education assistants, as well as the results of a study showing the problem of the use of inappropriate diagnostic tests. The article indicates the measures, including legal actions, taken in recent years to foster the elimination of the signalled phenomenon. It is acknowledged that these have had positive effects and there has been a reduction in the representation of Roma pupils in special schools. However, the educational situation of Roma children is still not further explored.

    Wprowadzenie zdalnego nauczania w wyniku pandemii COVID-19 na początku semestru letniego 2020 roku zmusiło studentów do długotrwałej pracy przed ekranem komputera, powodując u nich szereg objawów świadczących o wystąpieniu cyfrowego zmęczenia oczu. W ramach pracy przeprowadzono analizę subiektywnej oceny stanu wzroku podczas nauczania w czasie pandemii. W związku z tym została przeprowadzona ankieta on-line, zawierająca pytania dotyczące czasu spędzanego przed ekranem komputera, samopoczucia ankietowanych oraz symptomów występujących ze strony układu wzrokowego, a związanych z patrzeniem do bliży, dali oraz postrzeganiem kolorów. W ankiecie zostały także uwzględnione dodatkowe pytania dla użytkowników soczewek kontaktowych.
    The spread of the COVID-19 pandemic in the spring of 2020 forced students to work long hours in front of the computer during on-line learning, causing them a number of symptoms connected with a digital eye strain. As part of the study, an analysis of the subjective assessment of the visual condition during education during a pandemic was carried out. Therefore, an on-line questionnaire was prepared. It contained questions like the time spent in front of the computer screen, the well-being of the respondents and the symptoms of the visual system related to near vision, far vision and colour perception. Additional questions for contact lens wearers were also included in the test.
