Don Bosco entered in history as the outstanding educator and the great worshipper of Our Lady. In his educational-pastoral activity the education and the piety of the Virgin Mary interlocked into one trend of the service to the young man, for keeps enrolling into proposed by him the preventive system. A special example of this phenomenon is the „Society of Immaculate”. Its history is a good illustration of the influence of the piety of the Virgin Mary on the upbringing of the young people. The present article I show first the genesis of the rising „Society of Immaculate”, and afterwards his activity among pupils of Don Bosco in the Oratory on Valdocco. In conclusion it makes an attempt indications of results pedagogic and pastoral activity of „Society of Immaculate” which for keeps enrolled in the Salesian educational proposal. They are among them: the faith into apostolic possibilities of young people, additionally valuing of the dimension of association in the upbringing, the consolidation of the consciousness of the vocation, the induration of renewed vision of the piety of the Virgin Mary.

Opis:
After Fr John Bosco’s death (1888) Fr Michael Rua became the Major Rector of the Salesian Society. He was leading the Society till the very day of his death. During this period the Salesian work developed very fast all over the world. At the same time the Salesians managed to follow the Founder’s charisma. This kind of development was possible mainly due to the Salesian missionary effort. During Fr Rua’s leadership about 100 Polish Salesians undertook missionary activities of the Congregation. Most of them were sent to Latin America and only few went to the USA, Asia and Africa. Their basic assignments concerned education and upbringing in schools and boarding-schools. This kind of Salesian work was presented in “Seminare” in 2010. In this issue we describe the other evangelization activities of the Polish Salesians, namely their work in oratories opened on feast days, their vocational work with candidates for priests and religious and their efforts in the evangelization of the local tribes. Concluding the Author shows the meaning of the contribution of the Polish Salesians to the Salesian Society as well as to the Church and people in their environments of life and work.

Opis:
In the year 2010 Salesian Congregation celebrates 100 anniversary of the death blessed Michał Rua, the first successor of Don Bosco’s on the position of Rector Major of Salesians. Father Rua carried out Salesians through the difficult period of the passage from charismatic times of the Founder to practical faithful of Don Bosco’s charismat. One of indications of this dynamic faithfulness was development of the salesian mission work. Father Rua not only animated the quantitative growth of salesian presence in new foundations in Latin America , U.S.A., Africa, Asia and Europe, but took pains, so that was done according to the missionary strategy proposed by Don Bosco. The founder of Salesians wished to evangelise trough the education. Therefore wherever came salesian missionaries arose all types of schools, boarding-schools and oratories. Salesian work was accepted willingly even by authorities often hostile to the Church and by the local population not infrequently secularization. Depended on this, so that as be accustomed to say Don Bosco „to penetrate the ground of the enemy across the education, sending before evangeliser crowds of the young people”. Within a period of father Rua’s Rua into the realization of this program, close to Salesians from Italy and originating from other countries, joined near 100 missionaries of Poles. They number of Polish salesians was the second just after Italians. The present article shows details of their commitment into the missionary program of Salesians in the period of the rectorate of father Rua, calling the special genesis of their salesian and missionary’s vocation, conditions in which came to work to them and challenge, which realized in schools on missions. The end of article is the attempt of the synthetic estimation of the commitment of Poles into the realization of salesian missionary program across the education at school within a period of Rua of father Rua.

Opis:
St. Giovanni Bosco (1815 – 1888) is famous for his involvement in education of young people, based on a preventive system. It is well known that in his times he was a very keen worshipper of God’s Mother, especially the One called Mary Help of Christians (Maria Auxilium Christianorum). The author of this article asks if there are mutual relations between education in a preventive spi- rit as proposed by don Bosco and his piety to Mary. Looking for the answer he initially briefly de- scribes a historical context of the life and the activities of the saint. He also outlines elements of don Bosco’s educational system. Then he stops over Mary’s service of don Bosco. He recalls its origin and points to don Bosco’s basic convictions. After that he focuses on the presentation of don Bosco’s ser- vice to the Immaculate and Mary Help of Christians. In both cases, he emphasizes their impact on edu- cation of young people. The author closes his reflections showing educational potential, which could be obtained, by offering to children, young people and educators the well understood Mary’s Service.
