Opis:
The flotation separation of chalcopyrite from monoclinic pyrrhotite using food-grade guar gum (FGG) as a depressant was studied through micro flotation and flotation kinetics experiments, zeta potential, adsorption measurements and scanning electron microscope (SEM) analysis as well as infrared spectroscopy analysis. The flotation tests showed that the reagent scheme of depressant FGG 40 mg/dm3, collector PAX (potassium amyl xanthate) 10 mg/dm3 and frother MIBC (Methyl isobutyl carbinol) 10 mg/dm3 at pH 8.0 could achieve selective flotation separation of chalcopyrite from monoclinic pyrrhotite (a concentrate with Cu grade of 22.35% and recovery of 82.52% was achieved from the mixed minerals flotation), which indicated that FGG exhibited a selective depression effect on monoclinic pyrrhotite The kinetics, zeta potential, adsorption, SEM and infrared studies revealed that the depressant FGG could absorb more strongly on the surface of monoclinic pyrrhotite than chalcopyrite. Additionally, the results revealed that the interaction of FGG with the monoclinic pyrrhotite surface was governed primarily by strong chemisorption, whereas FGG mainly bonded to chalcopyrite through hydrogen bonding bonding. This property was the reason why FGG had excellent depression selectivity toward monoclinic pyrrhotite and weak depression effect on chalcopyrite flotation.

Opis:
Separating jamesonite and marmatite is difficult due to their similar response to traditional collectors. To improve the selectivity of the collector and simplify the reagent system, compound phosphate (MP) as a collector for the separation of jamesonite from marmatite was studied in this study. The flotation tests revealed that, compared with the most used butyl xanthate (BX), MP had the advantages of lower dosage and stronger selectivity under weak acid pulp. Under the optimum flotation conditions, a concentrate with the grade of 31.54% Pb, 6.93% Zn and the recovery of 89.87% Pb, 12.31% Zn could be obtained from mixed binary minerals flotation (mass ratio of 1:1). Adsorption, zeta potential, FT-IR and XPS analysis demonstrated that MP performed strong chemisorption on jamesonite surface while underwent weak physisorption on marmatite, this difference was responsible for the excellent selectivity of MP toward jamesonite flotation and weak collecting capacity to marmatite.

Opis:
The flotation separation of barite from calcite using sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) as the collector and sodium silicate (SS) as the depressant has been concretely studied in this paper. The results show that SDS has high collecting ability for both barite and calcite and that the flotation separation of barite from calcite cannot be achieved by using SDS alone. The depressant sodium silicate has a selective depression effect on calcite by the control of the pulp pH at 9.0 in the presence of SDS. Through locked cycle tests, a concentrate containing 95.54% BaSO4 can be obtained from an actual ore containing 24.5% BaSO4, with a recovery of 86.11%. The zeta potential measurements, adsorption analysis and infrared spectrum studies reveal that the pre-adsorption of sodium silicate strongly favors the adsorption of SDS on the calcite surface and adversely affects SDS adsorption on the barite surface. This property is the reason for the selective depression of SS on calcite.

Opis:
A novel reagent, guar gum (GG), is investigated as the depressant on the depression of chalcopyrite and jamesonite, when mixed aerofloat (CSU11) is used as the collector in flotation tests. Kinetics, dynamic potential, adsorption and infrared spectra analysis are performed to study the interaction mechanism between GG and minerals. The flotation results display that selective flotation separation of chalcopyrite from jamesonite is achieved under conditions of depressant GG 2.5 mg/dm3, collector CSU11 10 mg/dm3 and frother MIBC (Methyl isobutyl carbinol) 10 mg/dm3 at pH 5.3. As to mixed minerals flotation, the Cu grade and recovery in the concentrate is 21.35 % and 85.12 %, respectively, indicating that GG has a selective depression effect on jamesonite. Flotation kinetics shows that the addition of GG can dramatically reduce the floatability of jamesonite but hardly influences that of chalcopyrite. The zeta potential and adsorption reveal that the depressant GG adsorbs strongly on the surface of jamesonite. Infrared spectra reveal a dominant chemisorption between GG and jamesonite, while GG occurs weak chemisorption on chalcopyrite surface. This is the reason why GG has excellent selectivity for jamesonite and less effect on chalcopyrite.

Opis:
The overall acoustic echo of a submarine is greatly dependent on the conning tower. For enhancing the acoustic stealth performance of a submarine, it is necessary to research an innovative design scheme of the conning tower to reduce its target strength (TS). The aim of this work is to reduce the TS of a conning tower by varying its geometry and streamlining. The accuracy in modelling the acoustic scattering of a conning tower using the Kirchhoff approximation (KA) was validated, compared with finite element analysis (FEA). Several angular conning tower geometries were designed to analyze the effect of streamlining and the number of lateral facets on TS using the KA method. In consideration of the actual situation, the acoustic effect of backing medium was analyzed by compared water-filled elastic hulls with rigid hulls. From the observed TS calculation results, it is shown that the non-streamlined four lateral-facet conning tower geometries are optimal for acoustic stealth performance during the range of incidence angles from −10° to 10°, whereas the streamlined versions have better performance at incidence angles beyond this range. Furthermore, elastic hulls and rigid hulls provide similar spatial distribution regularities in monostatic configuration with the rigidity affecting the magnitude of the TS.

Opis:
High-frequency resonance is a prominent phenomenon which affects the normal operation of the high-speed railway in China. Aiming at this problem, the resonance mechanism is analyzed first. Then, model predictive control and selective harmonic elimination pulse-width modulation (MPC-SHEPWM) combined control strategy is proposed, where the harmonics which cause the resonance can be eliminated at the harmonic source. Besides, the MPC is combined to make the current track the reference in transients. The proposed control has the ability to suppress the resonance while has a faster dynamic performance comparing with SHEPWM. Finally, the proposed MPC-SHEPWM is tested in a simulation model of CRH5 (Chinese Railway High-speed), EMUs (electric multiple units) and a traction power supply coupled system, which shows that the proposed MPC-SHEPWM approach can achieve the resonance suppression and shows a better dynamic performance.

Due to the relatively closed environment, complex internal structure, and difficult evacuation of personnel, it is more difficult to prevent ship fires than land fires. In this paper, taking the large cruise ship as the research object, the physical model of a cruise cabin fire is established through PyroSim software, and the safety indexes such as smoke temperature, CO concentration, and visibility are numerically simulated. An Attention-BP neural network model is designed for realizing the intelligent identification of a cabin fire and dividing the risk level, which integrates the diagnosis results of multiple neural network models through the self-Attention mechanism and adaptively distributes the weight of each BP neural network model. The proposed model can provide decision-making reference for subsequent fire-fighting measures and personnel evacuation. Experimental results show that the proposed Attention-BP neural network model can effectively realize the early warning of the fire risk level. Compared with other machine learning algorithms, it has the highest stability and accuracy and reduces the uncertainty of early cabin fire warning.

An aggregate signature scheme allows a public algorithm to aggregate n signatures on n distinct messages from n signers into a single signature. By validating the single resulting signature, one can be convinced that the messages have been endorsed by all the signers. Certificateless aggregate signatures allow the signers to authenticate messages without suffering from the complex certificate management in the traditional public key cryptography or the key escrow problem in identity-based cryptography. In this paper, we present a new efficient certificateless aggregate signature scheme. Compared with up-to-date certificateless aggregate signatures, our scheme is equipped with a number of attracting features: (1) it is shown to be secure under the standard computational Diffie-Hellman assumption in the random oracle model; (2) the security is proven in the strongest security model so far; (3) the signers do not need to be synchronized; and (4) its performance is comparable to the most efficient up-to-date schemes. These features are desirable in a mobile networking and computing environment where the storage/ computation capacity of the end devices are limited, and due to the wireless connection and distributed feature, the computing devices are easy to be attacked and hard to be synchronized.

Opis:
Naturally, most of the cassiterite co-exists with sparingly soluble calcite, which makes it difficult to be fully utilized. Due to the adsorption of calcium ions dissolved from calcite, surface properties of cassiterite and its floatability can be influenced. Adsorption tests show calcium ions can adsorb on cassiterite surface. In the presence of Ca2+, the zeta potentials of cassiterite shift to more positive values and the isoelectric point of cassiterite increases from pH 4.4 to pH 4.9. XPS results show that after calcium ions treatment, a strong calcium spectral peak at 347.65 eV is detected on the cassiterite surface and the chemical circumstance of oxygen atoms is changed. The presence of Ca2+ can significantly depressed the flotation behavior of cassiterite with salicylhydroxamic acid (SHA) as collector. Its recovery is decreased by 26.03% compared to that without Ca2+ at SHA dosage of 8.0×10-4 mol/dm3. When increasing SHA concentration to 9.0×10-4 mol/dm3 and above, the depression effect is partly compensated and the recovery rises by about 20%. Contact angle values of cassiterite measured by the bubble method correspond well to the flotation performance. Hence the depression mechanism of Ca2+ in cassiterite flotation can be interpreted in two aspects: 1) the consumption of SHA due to complexation reactions in pulp; 2) a decrease of effective adsorption site for SHA on cassiterite because of the adsorption of Ca2+.

The structural and electronic properties of alkaline-earth oxide BaO under epitaxial strains are investigated using a first principles density functional theory. The electronic structure is particularly sensitive to the compressive or tensile strain, e.g., the splitting of energy band, the increase of the total density of state, and the shift of the partial density of states. Especially, the trends in the variation of the optical band gap are predicted by two different exchange-correlation potential schemes. Our results indicate that the optical band gaps undergo a decrease for both compressive and tensile strains.

Dynamic biaxial compression tests and Particle Flow Code numerical simulations of the cement mortar specimens with a single joint were carried out to study the mechanical properties and crack evolution of artificial rock samples with a single joint. The effects of lateral stress σ2, loading rate V, the dip angle β (between the vertical loading direction and the joint) on the biaxial compressive strength σb, and the evolution law of crack were investigated. Test results showed that; (1) when both the dip angle β and the loading rate V remained unchanged, the biaxial compressive strength σb increased with the increase in the lateral stress σ2, while σ2 had no obvious effect on the crack evolution law; (2) when both the dip angle β and the lateral stress σ2 were kept unchanged, the loading rate V had an insignificant effect on the biaxial compressive strength σb and the crack evolution law; (3) when both the lateral stress σ2 and the loading rate V were constant, the biaxial compressive strength σb decreased first and then increased with the increase in the dip angle β; however, the dip angle β did not significantly affect the crack evolution law. The conclusions obtained in this paper are presented for the first time.
