Opis:
Multiple criteria decision making (MCDM) problems in practice may simultaneously contain both redundant and incomplete information and are difficult to solve. This paper proposes a new decision-making approach based on soft set theory to solve MCDM problems with redundant and incomplete information. Firstly, we give an incomplete soft set a precise definition. After that, the binary relationships of objects in an incomplete soft set are analyzed and some operations on it are provided. Next, some definitions regarding the incomplete soft decision system are also given. Based on that, an algorithm to solve MCDM problems with redundant and incomplete information based on an incomplete soft set is presented and illustrated with a numerical example. The results show that our newly developed method can be directly used on the original redundant and incomplete data set. There is no need to transform an incomplete information system into a complete one, which may lead to bad decision-making due to information loss or some unreliable assumptions about the data generating mechanism. To demonstrate its practical applications, the proposed method is applied to a problem of regional food safety evaluation in Chongqing, China.

Opis:
This research is focused on decision-making problems with redundant and incomplete information under a fuzzy environment. Firstly, we present the definition of incomplete fuzzy soft sets and analyze their data structures. Based on that, binary relationships between each pair of objects and the “restricted/relaxed AND” operations in the incomplete fuzzy soft set are discussed. After that, the definition of incomplete fuzzy soft decision systems is proposed. To reduce the inconsistency caused by the redundant information in decision making, the significance of the attribute subset, the reduct attribute set, the optimal reduct attribute set and the core attribute in incomplete fuzzy soft decision systems is also discussed. These definitions can be applied in an incomplete fuzzy soft set directly, so there is no need to convert incomplete data into complete one in the process of reduction. Then a new decision-making algorithm based on the above definitions can be developed, which can deal with redundant information and incomplete information simultaneously, and is independent of some unreliable assumptions about the data generating mechanism to forecast the incomplete information. Lastly, the algorithm is applied in the problem of regional food safety evaluation in Chongqing, China, and the corresponding comparison analysis demonstrates the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Opis:
Due to the high frequency and great damage of flood disasters, it is important to reduce the flood peak when it goes through the reservoir. A hydraulic model which integrates the implicit equation of water balance, water head-discharge carves, and water head-storage carves together, is proposed to simulate the flood peak reduction of a small reservoir. The proposed method was employed to simulate the flood peak reduction in the Brown Bridge Reservoir, Michigan, US. The results show that the proposed method can simulate the flood peak reduction in a small reservoir, and the Brown Bridge Dam can reduce the flood peak when hundred-year floods go through. When all gates or spillways are fully opened, the initial water head of the reservoir significantly influences the capacity of flood peak reduction. When the initial water head of the Brown Bridge Reservoir is 240.18 and 241.40 m, the hundred-year flood peak would be reduced to 23.11 m3/s and 25.85 m3/s, respectively. By optimizing the gates or spillways, the hundred-year flood peak could be reduced. When the initial water head of the reservoir is 241.40 and 240.18 m, the hundred-year flood peak would be reduced to 17.98 and 16.54 m3/s, respectively

With rapid economic development and industrialization, air pollution is becoming a critical global issue affecting health. Sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxides are the major contributors to acid rain and the key indicators for evaluating atmospheric pollution. And source intensity and meteorological factors are the main ways to influence the concentrations of sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxides. Thus, to investigate the specific effects of source intensity, temperature, humidity, wind speed and atmospheric pressure on SO2 and NOx, the path analysis method was used for the model. The results showed that Source intensity significantly affects the concentrations of SO2and NO2. For both NO2 and SO2, the source intensity accounted for around 40%. Meteorological factors have very limited effects on the concentrations of SO2and NO2. The effects of the meteorological factors on air pollutants are specific as differences in material properties. Humidity significantly affects the concentration of SO2while temperature, humidity and wind speed have significantly affected the concentration of NO2.

Opis:
Objectives The aim of the study has been to investigate the effect of the Standard Reference Material of fine particulate matter (SRM 2786) on cytotoxicity and apoptosis in human lung bronchial epithelial cells (16HBE cells). Whether the lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced inflammation could further accelerate cell apoptosis induced by SRM 2786 stimulation has also been determined. Material and Methods 16HBE cells were exposed to various doses of SRM 2786 with or without LPS. The following parameters: cytotoxicity, apoptotic rate, Bax/Bcl-2 expression, nitric oxide (NO) production, and reactive oxygen species (ROS) generation were measured. Results The results have shown that SRM 2786 induces cell damage and apoptosis of 16HBE cells as demonstrated by significant decrease in expression of Bcl-2 and increase in expression of Bax. When compared with the control cells, the apoptotic rate of cells treated by 500 μg/ml of SRM 2786 increased from 2.43±0.21% to 43.96±2.95% (p < 0.01). Further, there was an elevated production of NO and ROS post SRM 2786 treatment. The level of NO in cells treated with 500 μg/ml of SRM 2786 was 18.33±1.02 μmol/l whereas that of control cells was 1.58±0.31 μmol/l (p < 0.01). When compared with the control group, the level of intracellular ROS increased by 24% after treatment with 500 μg/ml of SRM 2786 (p < 0.05). In addition, LPS pre-treatment may accelerate cell apoptosis by increasing generation of NO and ROS followed by SRM 2786 stimulation. When compared to cells treated with 125 μg/ml of SRM 2786 alone, the levels of NO and ROS in cells pretreated with LPS increased by 28% and 11.6%, respectively (p < 0.05), and the apoptotic rate increased from 34.62±4.44% to 54.11±3.34% (p < 0.01). Conclusions These findings have suggested that in vitro exposure to SRM 2786 could induce 16HBE cells apoptosis probably by means of the mechanism involving the generation of free radicals, while the degree of apoptosis would be further aggravated under inflammation condition. Opis:
MFD is widely used in traffic state evaluation because of its description of the macro level of urban road network. Aiming at the control strategy optimization problem of urban arterial road network under saturated traffic flow state, this study analyzes the MFD characteristics of a typical three-segment "ascending-stable-descending segment" and its advantages in characterizing the macroscopic operation efficiency of the road network, a arterial coordination control strategy considering MFD is proposed. According to the characteristics of MFD, it is proposed that the slope of the ascending segment and the capacity of the road network represent the operating efficiency of the free flow and saturated flow of the road network respectively. The traffic flow and density data of road segment are obtained by the road detector through Vissim simulation software. Aiming at the problem that the MFD is too discrete due to unreasonable control strategy or traffic condition, and in order to extract the MFD optimization target indicators, it is proposed to extract the key boundary points of the MFD by the “tic-tac-toe” method and divide the MFD state by Gaussian mixture clustering. The genetic algorithm integrates the multi-objective particle swarm algorithm as the solution algorithm, and the simulation iterative process is completed through Python programming and the com interface of Vissim software. In order to verify the validity of the model and algorithm, the actual three-intersections arterial road network is used for verification, and the model in this study is compared with the optimization model without considering MFD, the model solved by traditional algebraic method, and the optimization model solved by typical multi-objective particle swarm. Results show that the model in this research performs well in efficiency indicators such as total delay, average delay, and queue coefficient. At the same time, the MFD form has highest stability, the control effect is the best in the saturated state. The solution algorithm GA-MOPSO also has a better solution effect.

Tsunami disasters have frequently occurred in recent years. More and more researchers are focusing on this topic. To investi-gate the tsunami bore impact mechanism on a container model, a multi-functional slope-changing tsunami flume is built in this study. To simulate a tsunami bore, a dam-break wave was generated by a free-falling gate in a reservoir. A needle water level gauge and a high-speed camera were used to measure the tsunami wave heights and velocities for different storage water levels in the test flume, and the corresponding Froude numbers of tsunami waves were also calculated. The factors af-fecting the movement distance of the tsunami wave impacting the container model are explored in this experiment, and the results show that the movement distance is positively correlated with the storage water level, and negatively correlated with the container density and the coast slope.

The exact stability bound of the parasitic parameter for a discrete-time singularly perturbed system is determined by the linear fractional transformation (LFT) framework. Two systematic approaches including time-domain and frequency-domain methods are proposed to solve this problem based on the unified LFT framework. One employs the Kronecker product of LFTs and the guardian map theory. The other is to plot the eigenvalue loci of a real rational function matrix. Two examples are given to show the feasibility of the approaches.

This study utilized SEM to examine the fiber structure of cotton stock fabrics and tested their durability based on ISO standards. Two types of cotton stock fabrics were evaluated: natural-colored (162 cm width, 120.8 g/m2 weight, 281/10 in × 252/10 in density) and black-colored (157 cm width, 136.1 g/m2 weight, 482/10 in × 210/10 in density). Prolonged water immersion caused surface yarns to loosen, fibers to expand, and the cross-sectional area to increase. Residual pulp and impurities on the fabric adhered to fibers. After 27 days, fiber looseness peaked, leading to complete breakdown after 30 days. Natural-colored fabric experienced significant weft strength loss within 12 days, while black fabric showed slightly higher weft strength loss after 36 days. Color changes were prominent in natural-colored fabric during the initial 21 days, while black fabric displayed noticeable changes after 12 days of immersion.

Opis:
This study was aimed at analyzing the influence of the cutting parameters (spindle speed, feed rate and cutting depth) on the surface roughness of the machined parts with the influence of the machining stability of the cutter. In order to consider the chattering effect, the machining stabilities were calculated based on the measured tool tip frequency response functions. A series of machining tests were conducted on aluminum workpieces under different cutting parameters. Then, the surface roughness prediction models in the form of nonlinear quadratic and power-law functions were established based on the multivariable regression method, in which the input parameters, cutting depth and spindle speed, were respectively defined in the stable and unstable regions, according to the stability lobes diagram. The current results show that both models built with the cutting parameters defined in stable regions demonstrate higher prediction accuracy of the surface roughness, about 90%, when compared with the models defined in full regions with the accuracy of about 80%. In particular, the power-law model is proven to have 90% prediction accuracy when validated with the cutting parameters in a stable region. As a conclusion, the mathematical models based on the cutting parameters with well-defined machining stability were proven to show more accurate prediction ability of the surface roughness. It could be expected that the prediction model can further be applied to optimize the machining conditions in low speed roughing and high speed finishing process with desirable surface quality.

In the present work, two PU films, TDI-P(E-co-T) and TDI-N-100-P(E-co-T), were prepared. Silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) were composited into the TDI-N-100-P(E-co-T) film for better mechanical properties and antibacterial activities, and resultant PU/AgNPs composite film was systematically characterized and studied. The as-prepared PU/AgNPs composite film exhibits much better antibacterial properties than the traditional PU membrane, exhibiting broader application prospect.

Calorie restriction (CR) is known to extend life span from yeast to mammals. To gain an insight into the effects of CR on growth and development of the silkworm Bombyx mori at protein level, we employed comparative proteomic approach to investigate proteomic differences of hemolymph and fat body of the silkworm larvae subjected to CR. Thirty-nine differentially expressed proteins were identified by MALDI TOF/TOF MS. Among them, 19 were from the hemolymph and 20 from the fat body. The hemolymph of the CR group contained two down-regulated and 17 up-regulated proteins, whereas the fat body contained 15 down-regulated and five up-regulated ones. These proteins belonged to those functioning in immune system, in signal transduction and apoptosis, in regulation of growth and development, and in energy metabolism. Our results suggest that CR can alter the expression of proteins related to the above four aspects, implying that these proteins may regulate life span of the silkworm through CR.

In this research, bamboo charcoal/spandex (BC/S) complex yarn was fabricated using spandex as the core yarn, which was then wrapped with bamboo charcoal nylon textured yarn. The core yarn was first expanded and then wrapped with the wrapping yarn on a rotor twister machine at speeds of 4000, 6000, 8000, 10000, and 12000 r.p.m. The wrapping amount of the BC/S complex yarns were 2, 3, and 4 turns/cm. In order to evaluate the physical properties of the BC/S complex yarn, the maximum breaking strength, elongation, and elastic recovery rate were tested. We fabricated BC/S fabrics using circular knitting based on optimal manufacturing parameters. The BC/S complex yarn had an optimum elastic recovery rate of 98.89% when the rotor speed was 10000 r.p.m and the wrap number 4 turns/cm. The optimum tenacity of the yarn containing 44.0 dtex spandex was 4.22 cN/dtex when the rotor speed was 4000 r.p.m. and the wrap number 2 turns/cm. The anion density of the BC/S fabric increased with the wrap number; in particular, the fabric containing 76.9 dtex spandex displayed an optimum anion density of 54 anions/cc.

Objectives To establish a practical method for assessing the general metabolic health conditions among different employee groups, this study utilized the total count of metabolic syndrome (MetS) elements as a parameter, and performed a retrospective analysis comparing changes of MetS component count (MSC) of 5 years among day-time work (DW) and day-andnight rotating shift work (RSW) employees. Material and Methods The data of personal histories, physical examinations, blood tests, abdominal sonographic examinations and occupational records were collected from a cohort of workers in an electronics manufacturing company. We first defined the arithmetic mean value of MSC as MSC density (MSCD) for the employee group; then we compared the changes of MSCD over 5 years between DW and RSW workers. Occupational, personal and health records were analyzed for the 1077 workers with an initial mean age of 32.4 years (standard deviation (SD): 6.2 years), including 565 RSW workers (52%). Results The initial MSCDs were 1.26 and 1.12 (p = 0.06) for DW and RSW workers, respectively; after 5 years, the increments of MSCD for DW and RSW workers were 0.10 and 0.39, respectively (p < 0.01). By performing multivariate logistic regression analyses, and comparing with DW co-workers, final results indicated that the workers exposed to RSW have 1.7-fold increased risk of elevated MSCD (95% confidence interval (CI): 1.28–2.25, p < 0.01); and are 38% less likely (adjusted rate ratio (aRR) 0.62, 95% CI: 0.45–0.86, p < 0.01) to attain decreased MSCD. Conclusions These observations demonstrate that changes of MSCD are significantly different between DW and RSW workers, and are increasingly associated with RSW exposure. In conclusion, MSCD can represent the general metabolic health conditions of a given employee group; MSC, MSCD and their transitional changes can be applied as simple and standardized tools for monitoring metabolic health risk profiles when managing employee health, at both the individual and company levels.
