Opis:
Nowadays, the design of industrial vehicles and movable cars is based on the automation of their different tasks, which are currently handled by humans. These tasks, such as maneuvering robots in complex environments, require high level of precision that cannot be guaranteed by humans. Manual operations are likely to produce errors of computation and optimization of navigation and manoeuvre (left, right, veering…). In this paper, a novel prototype of a well-structured robot for intelligent navigation and parallel parking applications is presented. The robot have two axels, the front one is composed of two wheels that are manoeuvred by a stepper motor, and a pinion rack system for controlling the rotation of the wheels, and also the orientation of the robot. The driving wheels are mounted in the rear axle of the robot and are commanded by two DC motors. The design allows modification of the robot structural components whenever required. In addition to the mechanical components, the prototype is equipped with a DC power supply, three infra-red sensors, one ultrasound sensor, and control modules composed of an FPGA card, microcontroller card and two cards which are responsible for commanding actuators. The parameters of the mechanical and electronics components are optimised to perform multiple tasks for training and instruction applications. A mathematical model that describes the dynamics of the robot prototype is also developed. Simulation, experimental and theoretical investigations were carried out consisting in navigation and parallel parking manoeuvres. It was confirmed that the experimental and theoretical results agree well in both applications.

Opis:
This paper investigates experimentally the thermomechanical response of 42CrMo steel under several combinations of temperatures and strain-rate. To characterize the flow stress of this highstrength 42CrMo steel, two distinct test configurations were utilized. The first consisted of conventional uniaxial tensile tests conducted at room and elevated temperatures of 523◦K, 723◦K and 923◦K and three quasi-static strain-rates at 0.0015 s−1, 0.015 s−1, and 0.15 s−1. The second test configuration was carried out under dynamic compression using a drop mass bench at room temperature with three different dynamic strain-rates of 300 s−1, 400 s−1, and 500 s−1. Particular attention was paid to key features such as work-hardening (WH), grain size, dynamic strain aging (DSA), formation of microcavities, and their coupling with the influence of temperature/strain-rate combination. The dependence of 42CrMo steels’ flow stress on the quasi-static strain-rate at room temperature was almost insignificant. However, the strain-rate sensitivity increased with increasing temperatures. At high temperatures, different factors contributed to modifying the alloy microstructure which has a significant impact on the alloy’s mechanical properties. Quantification of the micro-cracks density and fractured specimens’ voids was established using scanning electron microscopy (SEM) images. The Voyiadjis–Abed (VA) constitutive model was utilized in describing the flow stress of 42CrMo steels and implemented in the ABAQUS software to develop a robust finite element model capable of accurately simulating variant structural responses of 42CrMo steel alloy.

Opis:
The presence of high Z material adjacent to soft tissue, when submitted to irradiation, enhances locally the absorbed dose in these soft tissues. Such an effect occurs due to the outscattering of photoelectrons from the high Z material. Polymer gel (PG) dosimeters were used to investigate this effect. Analytic calculations to estimate the dose enhancement were performed. Samples containing a polymer gel with 0.005 gAu/gPG and a pure polymer gel were irradiated using an X-ray beam produced by 150 kV, filtered with 4 mm Al and 5 mm Cu, which resulted in an approximately 20% greater absorbed dose in the samples with gold in comparison to those with the pure polymer gel. The analytic calculations resulted in a dose enhancement factor of approximately 30% for the gold concentration of 0.005 gAu/gPG.

Sound velocity, densities of binary mixture of Tetrahydropyran (THP) with 1-hexanol has been measured over the entire range of composition at T = 298.15 to 318.15 K. The excess parameters viz., excess sound velocity, deviations in isentropic compressibility, excess molar volume, excess free length and excess acoustic impedance are deduced from experimental values and discussed intermolecular interactions present in the mixture. At the end all the parameters have been fitted to Redlich-Kister equation and their coefficients are obtained.

Opis:
Cancer is a major problem that affects today's society. Besides patients suffering from this disease, cancer has also a huge impact on the quality of life of the family. This study aimed to investigate the latest bibliography on the effect of the burden of patient care with cancer on family caregivers. Family caregivers face physical health problems such as physical pain, fatigue, sleep disturbances. Moreover, several psychological effects are shown, in which various disorders such as depression are included. Psychological disorders, also, include adjustment disorder, panic disorder, anxiety, and emotional reactions such as anger, frustration, and fear. In the financial sector, caregivers face several problems due to the coverage of medical needs which are reinforced by reducing or stopping their work because of the care burden. At the same time, they are confronted with social impacts in which loneliness and isolation are attributable to the limitation of their social activities. As far as the age group of the patient is concerned, the effects of caring for young patients are more psychological than physical in opposite to the older people. The burden experienced by the family of the cancer patient exhausts family and it becomes necessary to identify problems and assess their needs. Health professionals should strength caregivers with actions such as psychological support, training, and participation in social and supportive programs in order to improve their personal health and quality of life.

Opis:
In this paper our objective is to propose a random projections based formal concept analysis for knowledge discovery in data. We demonstrate the implementation of the proposed method on two real world healthcare datasets. Formal Concept Analysis (FCA) is a mathematical framework that offers a conceptual knowledge representation through hierarchical conceptual structures called concept lattices. However, during the design of a concept lattice, complexity plays a major role.

Opis:
Text retrieval using Latent Semantic Indexing (LSI) with truncated Singular Value Decomposition (SVD) has been intensively studied in recent years. However, the expensive complexity involved in computing truncated SVD constitutes a major drawback of the LSI method. In this paper, we demonstrate how matrix rank approximation can influence the effectiveness of information retrieval systems. Besides, we present an implementation of the LSI method based on an eigenvalue analysis for rank approximation without computing truncated SVD, along with its computational details. Significant improvements in computational time while maintaining retrieval accuracy are observed over the tested document collections.

Opis:
Theoretical velocities of binary liquid mixtures of 1-bromopropane with chlorobenzene at 2 MHz and four different temperatures 303.15, 308.15, 313.15 and 318.15 K, have been evaluated as a function of concentration and temperature. The experimental values are compared with theoretical models of liquid mixtures such as Nomoto, Van Dael-Vangeel, Impedance Relation, Rao’s Specific Velocity Method, Junjie’s relations and Free Length Theory. In the chosen system there is a good agreement between experimental and theoretical values calculated by Nomoto’s theory. The deviation in the variation of U2exp/ U2imx from unity has also been evaluated for explaining the non ideality in the mixtures. The results are explained in terms of intermolecular interactions occurring in these binary liquid mixtures.
