Opis:
This paper deals with the Polish physical culture which appears to lack a sufficient level of reflection in traditional aspects of its historical heritage. Traditional Polish games have been deserted and forgotten. Most of the researchers of culture do not pay enough attention to this particular sphere of spiritual culture, which consists also of the traditional Polish games as such. How is it that Polish art, music and even science have managed to convey their message, that there is a country in Europe with a long history, its own traditions and scientific achievements and that there are Polish people who represent that country. Why could this not be done in one of the most fundamental of all spheres of culture, that is physical culture? First of all this problem needs to be seen from the cultural, then anthropological, points of view. Then, one should focus on the culture itself — the civilization developing process through one of its products: games, in all respects, which, although being our important legacy, seem not to be appreciated by Polish society at all, and often totally ignored. But one needs to be aware of one’s own physical cultural traditions which, besides other cultural achievements, is the most important element of the national consciousness and cultural identity. Unfortunately, for a long time this phenomenon was totally rejected both by society and by human study researchers as it was believed to be trivial, ludic and merely the realm of folk activities. There were few scholars writing about the notion, though these include: Józef Nowicki or Eugeniusz Piasecki. They referred to the earlier ethnographic works by Wincenty Kadłubek, Łukasz Gołębiowski or Oskar Kolberg to prove the issue should still be on the research agendas. Reaching to old documents or the writings of famous Polish writers like Mikołaj Rej or Adam Mickiewicz, one can learn a lot about how the Polish upper class and peasants used to spend their pastime enjoying different forms of plays and games based on rites, legends, military preparations and everyday activities. Even today only a few academics are truly interested in this field of study in Poland. Among them Wojciech Lipoński, the author of an enormous work describing over 3,000 traditional sports and games in one World Sports Encyclopedia, can be named. To make this sound more familiar to the readers, the authoress decided to give in her article three examples of Polish traditional ludic games dating back to ancient times: Sobótka, Plinie and Palant.

Opis:
The Morasko strewn field located near Poznań, in Poland is an excellent example of well preserved strewn ellipse with several small hypervelocity impact craters. Although many studies on this crater field has been conducted since the first meteorite finding in 1914, the discussion of the strewn ellipse, its shape, size and direction is still ongoing. The proper answers on many questions concerning the Morasko impact can be given by numerical modeling. In this paper the implications of the Morasko meteoroid entry parameters on the observed strewn ellipse are presented. It is shown by numerical modeling, that the Morasko impact occurred from the NE direction, with the shallow horizontal angle. The strewn ellipse size is modeled together with the number of big meteorites which probably remain in the Morasko reserved area deep in the ground. The results described in this paper clearly indicate that the strewn ellipse related to the Morasko fall is elongated no more than several kilometers and contain over a dozen meteorites weighting more than 100 kilograms.

Opis:
This article shows an important sphere of social life, i.e. Physical Culture, regarding its elements: play, games, and sports as intangible global and at the same time regional heritage of every corner of the world. Through this work, the author wants to emphasise the crucial role of traditional games and sports in the globalised world, also showing UNESCO and TAFISA’s huge initiatives and endeavours they undertake to revitalise and prevent old sports from being forgotten. They are devoted and very involved in building a better climate for the promotion of various traditional physical activities in the context of cultural diversity. The author also wants to stress in this article that there are few groups of people around the globe who really care about the intangible kind of heritage hidden in traditional forms of sports and games. The further intention of this work is to awaken the awareness of other researchers and people for whom the local heritage is fundamental for a better future in a unified world.

Opis:
The aim of this article is to emphasize and acknowledge traditional sports as an important historical and socio-cultural phenomenon. By describing ‘the traditional sports and games movement’ from its organization to some key ideas, the authors show how local and national heritage of physical culture is important to every society. Within the current process of globalization, which touches on not only economic and political domains but also cultural and ethnic ones, people need to be aware of their heritage and identity. Various forms of our own, indigenous physical activity are part of this identity. In this article, the authors show the general background to the current situation of traditional sports in a globalized world, which is the socio-cultural context in which they exist, by describing some examples of these kinds of sports and initiatives all over the world. Afterwards, the focus will turn to a particular event – The 5thWorld Sport for All Games – during which traditional sports and games are played and promoted, showing the existence of this kind of sport as a potentially efficient tool in promoting cultural exchange and preserving heritage in the contemporary world.

Opis:
No numerical model has thus far addressed seismites, even though seismites are frequently used for the conditions which have to be fulfilled for the development of seismites have also been estimated only empirically. The present contribution is a first attempt to model numerically the soft-sediment deformation structures caused by the passage of S-waves through near-surface sedimentary layers. The simulations are based on the so-reconstruction of seismic events in the geological past. This is the more remarkable since the boundary called pressure tube model and the iSALE2D program. We modelled a seismic S-wave with six different vertical velocities, ranging from 1.6 to 2.6 m · s-1, passing through sediments with different densities and porosities in a sedimentary succession from the surface down to a depth of 10 m. The modelled soft-sediment deformation structures (load casts, flame structures, injection structures and sedimentary volcanoes) show similar geometries and sizes as those known from laboratory experiments and field studies. The geometry, size and type of these structures depend on the sediment properties and on the initial pressure used as a trigger mechanism, rather than on S-wave velocity. In contrast, the depth of the seismites appears to depend strongly on the S-wave velocity.
