Opis:
A Microbial Fuel Cell is a device where the bacteria can grow on one electrode, they breakdown organic matter and release electrons from it. The bacteria can do this by keeping them separate from the oxygen, and when they release those electrons it creates a potential between the two electrodes of about half a volt and voltage times current is power, and that is how power is generated from it. But MFCs are not restricted to generating power they can also be used to produce biofuels. Process can also be used to extract hydrogen and methane using appropriate membrane between the anode and cathode. Given paper explores this spectrum of scenarios and speculates the possibility of generating power using the Himalayan top soil.

The inception of biofuels have induced the need for technologies such as pyrolysis, gasification and related. With flash pyrolysis (non-catalytic) and the obtained product yields in bio-oil are discussed with regard to the effect of hydrothermal pretreatment of biomass or the effect of catalyst’s type (zeolitic or mesoporous). A review of catalytic upgrading of pyrolysis vapors of lignocellulosic biomass (beech wood) in its parent state or after being subjected to hydrothermal pretreatment is taken up in the concluding part.

Textile industries are the major source of environmental pollution In terms of quality as well as quantity. The textile industries consume large quantities of water (200 m3/ton of product) out of which around 90% is appeared as wastewater. Textile wastewater contains dye as the major pollutant which is not only recalcitrant but also imparts intense color to the waste effluent. Improper disposal of textile wastewater causes serious environmental problems affecting the aquatic organism adversely. The present study deals with the detailed study of environmental issues and treatment options. The industry generates huge amount of wastewater contains toxic pollutants. Several treatment technologies are using now days with high efficiency and from the present study it was found that advanced oxidation process is very effective in terms of pollutants removal efficiency as well as cost requirement.

Opis:
The process of fast pyrolysis using biomass to produce bio-oil or pyrolysis oil for application as an energy source and a chemical feedstock is of interest in this study. The literature on biomass fast pyrolysis is surveyed here and how parameter such as feed rate, temperature, rate of heating, and residence time affects the process. Investigation for this work includes the pyrolysis of sawdust and bagasse through fast pyrolysis in an auger reactor. Temperatures between 350 C and 450 C have been applied to characterize the yields and reactor problem has been identified. This work reports the problems faced with the twin screw reactor, troubleshooting which will result in bio-oil, one of the main products of fast pyrolysis. System produced solid biofuel or bio-char much of which is in the research phase as a climate change mitigation tool. Further use of professional CAD software to model and optimize the system has also been covered. Based on which suitable design changes are also developed to overcome the problems. Analysis of feed material and the solid biofuel is covered in this work as well. Pyrolysis experiments can be done using a wide range of biomass feeds. But not much of it has been studied in twin screw reactors. This scant knowledge over the study of such alternative fuel has been the reason to look into this activity.

In the last five decades, the variation for increase in population and decrease in available clean water is noticeable. To meet with growing water requirements, along with the wastewater from municipal sewage treatment plants, it is critical to consider the reuse of industrial wastewater wherever possible. In the Indian context, this has already been started in some of the big industries, especially in metro cities and it must be implemented at all level possible industries. Ultrafiltration (UF), reverse-osmosis (RO) and membrane bioreactors (MBR) will be integral parts of this. Waste water reuse is not only a necessity, it also provides several eco-friendly benefits.

Sustainable Agriculture innovations include least soil unsettling influence, lasting soil cover through yield deposits or cover harvests, and yield revolutions for accomplishing higher profitability. In India, endeavors to create refine and scatter preservation based farming advancements have been in progress for almost two decades and gained huge ground from that point forward despite the fact that there are a few imperatives that influence Sustainable Agriculture. Especially, huge endeavors have been made on no-till in wheat under a rice-wheat pivot in the Indo-Gangetic fields. There are a greater number of settlements than tradeoffs for selection of Sustainable Agriculture be that as it may; the balance among the two was comprehended by both adopters and promoters. The advances of Sustainable Agriculture give chances to decrease the cost of generation, spare water and supplements, increment yields, increment trim expansion, enhance effective utilization of assets, and advantage the earth. Nonetheless, there are still requirements for advancement of Sustainable Agriculture advances, for example, absence of suitable seeders particularly for little and medium scale agriculturists, rivalry of yield buildups between Sustainable Agriculture utilize and domesticated animals sustaining, blazing of yield buildups, accessibility of talented and logical labor and conquering the inclination or outlook about culturing. The need to build up the arrangement Sustainable Agriculture sing and procedures is pressing to advance Sustainable Agriculture in the district. This article audits the developing worries because of constant selection of ordinary farming frameworks, what's more, examinations the imperatives, prospects, arrangement issues and research requirements for preservation Agriculture in India.

Opis:
Industrialization becomes very significant for developing countries like India having large number of population. Rapid increase in urbanization and per capita income lead to high rate of municipal solid waste generation. In recent times, E-waste and plastic waste also contribute considerably to total waste stream due to utilization of electronic and other items. These wastes may cause a potential hazard to human health or environment if any of the aspects of solid waste management is not managed effectively. In India, approach towards Solid waste management is still unscientific. Solid Waste collection efficiency in India is around 70% (Sharholy et al. 2007), while same is almost 100% in the developed countries. Even today, large portion of solid waste is dumped indiscriminately on outskirts of towns or cities without any prior treatment. This leads to groundwater contamination and increase in air pollution due to leachate percolation and release of gases respectively. Various study reveals that out of total solid waste, 80% can be utilized again either by recycling or reusing. Improper waste segregation and other factors lead recycling sector to work on outdated technology. However, plastic and paper recycling have been especially growing due to continuous increasing consumption of both the commodities. This study describes about current status of municipal solid waste management in different regions of India. It further summarizes a collective, systematic effort which improves implementation of legal frameworks, institutional arrangements, financial provisions, technology, operations management, human resource development, and public participation and awareness of Integrated SWM systems.
