Opis:
The problem of interested in these studies was to identify the approaches to strategies that dominate the gaming sector in the USA, Korea and Poland. Solving this problem is the main goal of the research, the results of which are presented in this article. The cognitive aim is to broaden the knowledge of approaches to strategy in new sectors, such as gaming, at various stages of its development. The methodological aim is to check the usefulness of the approach and the analysis based on the principle of the so-called “grey intelligence”. The utilitarian aim is to indicate the directions of development of companies in this sector based on the theoretical projections of the strategy. The research was conducted in Q1 2022, and the result is a description of the dominant strategies in the gaming sector. The originality value of this research is to use theoretical approaches to strategy to identify strategies in new sectors and to verify the utility of these approaches.
Problemem, który interesował autorów w tych badaniach, było zidentyfikowanie podejść do strategii dominujących w sektorze gamingowym w USA, w Korei Południowej i w Polsce. Rozwiązanie tego problemu jest głównym celem badań, których wyniki zawarto w tym artykule. Celem poznawczym jest poszerzenie wiedzy dotyczącej podejść do strategii w nowych sektorach gamingowych w różnych fazach ich rozwoju. Celem metodologicznym jest sprawdzenie użyteczności podejścia opartego na zasadzie m.in. „grey intelligence”. Celem utylitarnym jest wskazanie kierunków rozwoju firm tego sektora w oparciu o teoretyczne projekcje strategii. Badania przeprowadzono w I kwartale 2022 roku. Wynikiem badań jest opis dominujących strategii w sektorze gamingowym. Oryginalnym wkładem jest wykorzystanie teoretycznych podejść do strategii w badaniach sektora gamingowego oraz zweryfiko- wanie użyteczności tych podejść do strategii.

The monograph entitled ROUND-HEADED BORERS (COLEOPTERA: CERAMBYCIDAE) OF DOOARS, WEST BENGAL – A COMPENDIUM by Sumana Saha and Dinendra Raychaudhuri submitted for review has 141 numbered pages which contain both the body of the text, illustrations and photographs and the list of references, index of names being used in the monograph and information about the authors. The family Cerambycidae is one of the most numerous beetle families in the world. They are usually large or very large insects (this family includes the largest beetles of the world) and often richly coloured, especially tropical species. Because of their size, rich palette of colours and relative ease in their collection, these beetles enjoy a high standing among collectors and entomologists. Although this group is fairly well recognised in the world, a lot of new species of the long-horn beetles is being described every year. This primarily applies to tropical regions. However, when analysing individual countries, the situation with identification of long-horn beetles can be very different. Therefore, each new study, especially concerning tropical regions, is extremely valuable when it comes to species identification of not only long-horn beetles but also most beetle families. The monograph being submitted for review is a compendium o f knowledge about long-horn beetles that are to be found in the Dooars region, West Bengal. The examined area seems to be an extremely interesting object of research as it is situated on the border of two zoogeographic regions, Palaearctic and Oriental Regions. The authors divided the monograph into 14 chapters, presenting successively a general characteristics of the long-horn beetles, the area being examined, the terminology being used in the monograph, a taxonomic part together with the list of long-horn beetle species living within the examined area, and a key to their identification. Additionally, the authors characterised 7 species of long-horn beetles in terms of their bionomics. The final part of the monograph contains a short discussion and the list of references which includes 135 items. Within the area examined, the authors have shown 91 species of long-horn beetles, in relation to140 one being reported from West Bengal. These species have been shown from several nature reserves and Gorumara National Park. Despite using different methods of catching and a long time of in which the research took place, this result is not satisfactory. There is an impression that long-horn beetles were collected “incidentally”, during the study being targeted on other groups of invertebrates. All the protected objects being examined have been well characterised and presented on numerous photographs. An important and extremely useful element of the monograph is the key for species identification. Certainly, this element of the monograph will be used by numerous entomologists dealing with long-horn beetles of the Oriental Region. An interesting fact is a pictogram key for the Cerambycidae subfamilies and tribes being attached, as well as presentation of respective species on photographs together with biological information, habitat and geographical distribution in the world. The monograph being discussed is undoubtedly the needed publication which will facilitate the work of many entomologists specialising in the family Cerambycidae of the Oriental Region. At the same time, it is an invitation to further exploration of the wild parts of India which have been left not so much.

New genus and species of a beetle belonging to the family Ptinidae are described. Petroniptus zahradniki n. gen., n. sp. has been found in northeastern Thailand. It is wingless and reminds of – also wingless – representatives of southern African genera Cryptopeniculus Philips and Pocapharaptinus Philips & Akotsen.

The paper contains informations on the descriptions and analyse of various authors’ opinions as to the ocurrence and systematic position of species belonging to the genus Xylothrips. As the result of the analysis Calophagus has been downgraded to a subgenus of Xylothrips – Xylothrips (Calophagus) n. comb. – and Xylothrips geffroyi (n. syn.) synonymized with X. religiosus. At the end a key to the identification of all known species of Xylothrips is presented, together with a catalogue and maps showing the geographical distribution of particular species.

The paper presents new data on the occurrence in Poland of a very rare species of horntail Tremex magus (F.). One female of this species was caught in the Wielkopolska Lowland, in “Mszar Bogdaniec” nature reserve. Opis:
Sarcodontia crocea is a fungus relatively rarely recorded in Central and Northern Europe, where as a parasite it grows mainly on old apple trees. The most recent data on the occurrence of this fungus in Poland are presented in this study. Seven new localities of S. crocea are reported, found in the regions of Mazowsze, Podkarpacie, Ziemia Łódzka, and Żuławy Wiślane in the years 2013–2016. The S. crocea basidiomes were recorded on 12 apple trees. The fungus occurrence on Malus pumila ‘Niedzwetzkyana’ was documented for the first time. Four beetle species representing four families were found in the studied S. crocea basidiomes. Their feeding on S. crocea has not been mentioned in the literature so far.
