    W publikacji podjęto temat konkurencyjności, ze wskazaniem na brak jednej powszechnie akceptowanej definicji tego pojęcia i na wieloznaczność rozumienia tego terminu. Wskazano na wystę-pujące poziomy konkurencyjności oraz różne miary i metody jej oceny z punktu widzenia tych pozio-mów, w tym przedsiębiorstw i gospodarki narodowej. W ostatniej części publikacji podjęto próbę oceny konkurencyjności gospodarki Polski i przedsiębiorstw w niej funkcjonujących.
    The publication discusses the topic of competitiveness as such, pointing that a one definition of this notion which could be accepted in economics has not been worked out yet. The problem of ambiguity in understanding the term of "competitiveness" is also presented. The article also shows different levels of competitiveness as well as different ways of measuring and methods of its as-sessment taking into consideration these levels, including enterprises and the national economy. In the last part of the publication authors attempt to asses the competitiveness of the Polish economy and the enterprises which function within this economy.

    Opis:
    Purpose: The purpose of this article is to attempt to demonstrate the role of Integral Theory in explaining the upcoming managerial processes in Society 5.0. Design/methodology/approach: The explanatory procedure includes both a deterministic and indeterministic approach. The authors of this paper analyze currently conducted empirical research on the functioning of organizational structures in Poland and abroad in production, services and public organizations, including the so-called third sector. Findings: Research clearly indicates the slow, but systematic evolution of the organizational structures and the principles of their functioning. The so-called self-managing employee teams are increasingly being formed. Research limitations/implications: Research seems to purposefully monitor the functioning of the organizations systems. Practical implications: By constructing and anticipating social and economic processes we have attempted to identify managerial tools that are helpful in improving managerial activities to meet the requirement of the organization due to changing external conditions. Social implications: Such a test is the concept of a teal organization as a new type of organization, appropriate for the emerging age of Society 5.0. Originality/value: The research results indicate relatively fast changes in the functioning of enterprises in the field of inter-organizational cooperation.

    W publikacji podjęto próbę przedstawienia pozycji Polski na tle wybranych krajów świata, w tym krajów Unii Europejskiej. W pierwszej części artykułu wskazano na dystynktywne obszary badań dotyczące problematyki innowacyjności, z uwzględnieniem światowej i polskiej literatury przedmiotu. Na bazie podstaw teoretycznych w drugiej części artykułu zaprezentowano pozycję Polski na tle wybranych krajów świata w zakresie działalności innowacyjnej oraz jej charakterystycznych obszarów, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem ponoszonych nakładów na działalność badawczo-rozwojową. W zakończeniu artykułu przedstawiono stosowne konkluzje i wnioski.
    The publication presents an attempt to depict the position of Poland among some chosen countries in the world including the countries belonging to the European Union. The first chapter shows some characteristic research areas referring to the problems concerning innovativeness taking into consideration the subject literature issued both in Poland and abroad. The second chapter presents the position of Poland among some chosen countries in the world on the basis of some theoretical assumptions showing the activity referring to innovativeness and its characteristic areas paying special attention to the expenditures connected with research and development activity. The final part of the article presents some conclusions and proposals.

    W warunkach transformacji systemowej w Polsce restrukturyzacja była postrzegana przede wszystkim jako narzędzie służące przystosowaniu przedsiębiorstwa do wymogów gospodarki rynkowej. Obecnie, po blisko 20 latach realizacji procesu transformacji, restrukturyzacja staje się narzędziem wzrostu efektywności przedsiębiorstwa oraz narzędziem realizacji jego celów. Z punktu widzenia właścicieli przedsiębiorstwa głównym celem jest kreowanie jego wartości. W ten sposób restrukturyzacja staje się także narzędziem kreowania wartości przedsiębiorstwa. Tylko bowiem przedsiębiorstwa efektywne, gwarantujące swoim właścicielom uzyskiwanie satysfakcjonujących ich stóp zwrotu z zainwestowanego kapitału, mogą być postrzegane jako atrakcyjna forma inwestycji, a tym samym posiadać korzystne warunki dla dalszego rozwoju.
    During the systemic transformation in Poland, restructuring has been treated as a tool of enterprise's adjustment to the market economy principles. Nowadays, after nearly 20 years of transformation processes being in progress, we should understand restructuring as a tool of the enterprise's effective growth and improved efficiency of accomplishing its objectives. From the enterprise's owners' point of view the main target is to create value of enterprise. In this way, restructuring is also a tool of the enterprise's value creation. Only efficient enterprises provide their owners with a satisfactory return on invested capital rate, which can be viewed as an attractive form of investment and which may offer favorable conditions for further development.

    Dynamiczne zdolności organizacji zmieniają się w zależności od dynamiki i złożoności rynku, wobec czego dynamika działania organizacji powinna nadążać za dynamiką zmian otoczenia [16]. Biorąc pod uwagę aktualną sytuację integracji europejskiej, a w jeszcze szerszym kontekście postępujące procesy globalizacyjne, punktem odniesienia dynamiki zmian organizacji staje się dynamika zmian nie tylko w ujęciu krajowym, ale w ujęciu szerszym, tj. europejskim, a nawet ponadeuropejskim, w jakim funkcjonuje przedsiębiorstwo. Otoczenie funkcjonowania przedsiębiorstwa może zarówno oznaczać większe możliwości w zakresie zasięgu rynku sprzedaży, ale też większą konkurencję, co w dalszej kolejności zwiększa zapotrzebowanie na innowacyjność przedsiębiorstwa. Jedną z możliwości sprostania wyzwaniom dynamiki zmian otoczenia i tym samym zapotrzebowaniu innowacyjnemu są procesy innowacyjności otwartej. Omówione w literaturze innowacje otwarte odnoszą się w głównej mierze do kwestii zarówno udostępniania, jak i pozyskiwania współdzielonej wiedzy. Celem opracowania jest odniesienie się do zagadnienia interdyscyplinarności współdzielonej wiedzy oraz tego, w jaki sposób wpływa ona na innowacje otwarte. Materiałem służącym osiągnięciu celu pracy jest krytyczna analiza literatury krajowej i zagranicznej.
    The dynamic capabilities of the organization change depending on the dynamics and complexity of the market, so the dynamics of the organization’s activity should keep pace with the dynamics of changes in the environment. Taking into account the current situation of European integration, and in an even broader context, the progressing globalization processes, the reference for organizational changes dynamics becomes not only the national approach, but even broader, i.e. European, and even pan-European approach, which is the one in which the enterprise operates. The environment of the company’s operation may both mean greater opportunities in the scope of the sales market, but also more competition, which in turn generates greater demand for the company’s innovativeness. One of the possibilities to meet the challenges of the dynamics of changes in the environment and thus the demand for innovation are the processes of open innovation. The open innovations discussed in the literature refer mainly to the issue of both sharing and acquiring shared knowledge. The aim of the article is to address the issue of interdisciplinarity of shared knowledge and how it affects open innovation. The material used to achieve the aim of the work is critical analysis of national and international literature.

    Purpose: The article refers to the problems of permanent and sustainable development in the context of understanding the essence of science. The aim of the research is to show the existing relationship between sustainable and permanent development as a specific idea and science in its essence. Design/methodology/approach: The methodological frames of the publication were defined taking into consideration the assumed research goals as well as the research questions. Findings: For the research aim the following research questions were formulated: - what does the essence of science express in and what are its pillars? - what does the essence of sustainable and permanent development consist in? - is there a relationship between the problem of sustainable and permanent development and understanding the essence of science? - what should be expected so that science – in its essence – could really contribute to the realisation of the idea of sustainable and permanent development? Practical and social implications: The research is theoretical but takes into consideration available empirical data considering more important changes in natural, social and economic capital in the world, on the basis of which trends in the progress in the application implementation of the idea of sustainable and permanent development are presented. The publication also discusses the connections between the essence of science and its real contribution to putting the idea of the permanent and sustainable development into practice. Originality/value: The model of sustainable and permanent development’ idea in the aspect of the essence of science – pillars and foundations for the construction of the new world.
