The amount of rainfall received over an area is an important factor in assessing availability of water to meet various demands for agriculture, industry, irrigation, generation of hydroelectricity and other human activities. Over the study period of recent 30 years, trend values of monsoon average rainfall in Chittagong have increased. This paper has measured the correlation coefficients between rainfall and time for Chittagong, where correlation coefficient for Chittagong is positive. In order to check the strength of linear relationship between rainfall and time, P-value has been measured. Due to various factors of Chittagong region of Bangladesh, there is a growing need to study the rainfall, temperature and humidity pattern. This study was checked annual average rainfall of 30 years, temperature of 60 years and humidity of 28 years for this region. It is hoped that this research may be of help to the concerned organizations and experts working on increasing climate variation in Chittagong.

Opis:
In wireless mobile networks, a client can move between different locations while staying connected to the network and access the remote server over the mobile networks by using their mobile devices at anytime and anywhere. However, the wireless network is more prone to some security attacks, as it does not have the ingrained physical security like wired networks. Thus, the client authentication is required while accessing the remote server through wireless network. Based on elliptic curve cryptosystem (ECC) and identity-based cryptography (IBC), Debiao et al. proposed an ID-based client authentication with key agreement scheme to reduce the computation and communication loads on the mobile devices. The scheme is suitable for mobile client-server environments, is secure against different attacks and provides mutual authentication with session key agreement between a client and the remote server as they claimed. Unfortunately, this paper demonstrates that Debiao et al.' scheme is vulnerable some cryptographic attacks, and proposed an improved ID-based client authentication with key agreement scheme using ECC. The proposed scheme is secure based on Elliptic Curve Discrete Logarithm Problem (ECDLP) and Computational Diffie- Helmann Problem (CDHP). The detail analysis shows that our scheme overcomes the drawbacks of Debiao et al.'s scheme and achieves more functionality for the client authentication with lesser computational cost than other schemes.

Opis:
We proposed an efficient and secure digital signature scheme using elliptic curve cryptography (ECC) and bilinear pairings in this paper. The proposed scheme employs the general cryptographic hash function (i.e., SHA-1) instead of map-to-point function, because the map-to-point is a cost-intensive operation and it is usually implemented as a probabilistic algorithm. Further, our scheme is computationally efficient as one bilinear paring and three elliptic curve scalar point multiplication operations are executed for signature generation and verification, and thus the scheme requires much lesser computation cost than other related schemes. In addition, in the random oracle model, our scheme is proven to be existential unforgeable against the adaptive chosen message and identity attacks (EUF-CMA) based on a variation of the collusion attack algorithm with ktraitors (k-CAA3) problem.

Introduction and aim. Any hospital’s outpatient department (OPD) is regarded as the storefront of the facility, and patient satisfaction is an important measure of healthcare quality. Hence, this cross-sectional study was conducted in different OPDs at a tertiary care center. Material and methods. Two hundred patients were recruited, and structured personal interviews were conducted with questions based on the Patient Satisfaction Questionnaire Short Form (PSQ-18). T-tests and analysis of variance (ANOVA) were used to compare satisfaction scores between variables. Results. Upon analysis, 86% of the patients rated their overall experience as either ‘very good’ or ‘good’. Interpersonal manners (mean score±SD; 4.60±0.55), communication (4.39±0.66), general satisfaction (4.03±0.79), and technical qualities (3.86±0.57) were the domains in which the patients were most satisfied, while time spent with the doctor (3.77±0.89), accessibility and convenience (3.77±0.67), and financial aspects (3.37±0.83) were the areas that lagged. Conclusion. Satisfaction scores were found to vary significantly with gender, age, waiting times, and the number of visits per day. Regular patient satisfaction surveys should be conducted in all hospitals for devising interventions to provide patients with the best possible care.

Opis:
Sustainable mining management is increasingly seen as an important issue in achieving a social license to operate for mining companies. This study describes the life cycle cost (LCC) analysis and environmental valuation for several coal mine tailings management scenarios. The economic feasibility of six different options was assessed using the Net Present Value (NPV) and Benefit-Cost Analysis (BCA) methods. These options were belt press (OPT 1), tailings paste (OPT 2), thickened tailings (OPT 3), and OPT 1 with technology improvement and renewable energy sources (OPT 1A-C). The results revealed that OPT 1A (belt press technology with stack cell flotation) was the first preference in terms of LCC while OPT 1C (belt press technology with stack cell flotation and 10% wind energy) generated the highest benefits value (BCA) compared to the other options. The LCC and BCA components and the volume of GHG emissions were used to determine the best option. Normalization of these three elements resulted in the selection of Option 1C as being the most cost-effective option.

Opis:
At present, major causes of diseases is oxidative stress affecting both metabolic and physiological functions of the body. That is why there is a great need for investigation of nutritious food supplements for counteracting these oxidative stresses. Therefore, the aim of study was to evaluate the therapeutic potential of Apium leptophyllum Pers. fruits by estimating total phenolic as well as flavonoidal contents and antioxidant values. The collected fruits were extracted separately using different solvents like methanol, ethanol and water. Total phenolic and flavonoid contents were measured from the respective extracts and correlated with their antioxidant values. The antioxidant properties of various fruit extracts (12.5, 25, 50, 100 and 150 μg/ml) were evaluated by DPPH, hydroxyl, nitric oxide and superoxide scavenging assay and compared with ascorbic acid as a standard. All the extracts of A. leptophyllum were found to be dose dependent inhibition against these free radicals. Among all these extracts, the methanolic one was found better in the scavenging activity and followed dose-dependent manner against DPPH, hydroxyl radical, nitric oxide, superoxide anions with minimum IC50 values of 97.9, 89.02, 135.37, 127.73 μg/ml, respectively, and also observed more significant (p<0.01) as compared with standard. Furthermore, total phenolic and flavonoidal contents were found highest in methanolic extract. The results obtained in this study clearly indicate that the methanolic extract of A. leptophyllum may be used as a new potential source of natural nutritional supplement in food or pharmaceutical industries due to rich source of phenolic, flavonoidal contents as well as antioxidant property.

Opis:
Bone quality varies from one patient to another extensively; also, Young’s modulus may deviate up to 40% of normal bone quality, which results into alteration of bone stiffness immensely. The prime goal of this study is to design the optimum dental implant considering the mechanical response at bone implant interfaces for a patient with specific bone quality. Method. 3D model of mandible and natural molar tooth were prepared from CT scan data while, dental implants were modelled using different diameter, length and porosity and FE analysis was carried out. Based on the variation in bone density, five different bone qualities were considered. First, failure analysis of implants, under maximum biting force of 250N had been performed; next, the implants, those survived were selected for observing the mechanical response at bone implant interfaces under common chewing load of 120N. Result. Maximum Von Mises stress did not surpass the yield strength of the implant material (TiAl4V). However, factor of safety of 1.5 was considered and all but two dental implants survived the design stress or allowable stress. Under 120N load, distribution of Von Mises stress and strain at the bone-implant interface corresponding to the rest of the implants for five bone conditions were obtained and enlisted. Conclusion. Implants, exhibiting interface strain within 1500-3000 microstrain range show the best bone remodelling and osseointegration. So, implant models, having this range of interface strains were selected corresponding to the particular bone quality. A set of optimum dental implants for each of the bone qualities were predicted.

This paper studies embedded solitons that are confined to continuous spectrum, with $χ^{(2)}$ and $χ^{(3)}$ nonlinear susceptibilities. Bright and singular soliton solutions are obtained by the method of undetermined coefficients. Subsequently, the Lie symmetry analysis and mapping method retrieves additional solutions to the model such as shock waves, singular solitons, cnoidal waves, and several others. Finally, a conservation law for this model is secured through the Lie symmetry analysis.

In this work, we study the dynamics of optical solitons in a synthetic nonlocal nonlinear media. The nonlinear dynamical model which describes the propagation of optical solitons in the weakly nonlocal nonlinear media with parabolic law nonlinearity is investigated analytically. The tool of integration that is the Riccati equation mapping approach is introduced to extract exact traveling wave solutions. As a result, an explicit dark soliton, singular soliton and periodic solutions are derived.
