Opis:
The field emission current fluctuation method was applied to investigate surface self-diffusion of tungsten on the (311) and (711) regions (along the zone line (211)-(100)) of a tungsten microcrystal (in the form of the field emitter tip of radius about 300 nm) in the temperature range 500-850 K. The surface diffusion parameters were obtained from spectral analysis of the current fluctuations. The results are discussed from the aspects of the substrate structure.

Opis:
Diffusion of potassium adsorbate on the W(112) plane with preadsorbed nickel was investigated by means of the autocorrelation function of field emission current fluctuations. A comparison of the experimental autocorrelation function with that of a theoretical calculation by Gesley and Swanson gives the surface diffusion coefficient of potassium. From its temperature dependence the diffusion activation energy at several Ni pre-coverages for a constant potassium coverage (Θ$\text{}_{K}$=0.4) is derived. The dependence of the activation energy for potassium surface diffusion on the nickel coverage - first reduction and then an increase with increasing Ni coverage - is observed. This is in agreement with the results obtained from the spectral analysis of the field emission current fluctuations of the same system. The decrease is understood to be a result of the smoothing effect caused by Ni atoms on the W(112) plane.

Opis:
Diffusion of titanium was examined in the field emission microscope using the fluctuation autocorrelation method. A thick titanium layer (about three monolayers) deposited on a tungsten tip was used. A temperature range of 1260-1410 K was found where diffusion can be described in a hydrodynamic approximation. In this temperature range the diffusion coefficient seems to comply with Arrhenius rule for the activation energy of 1.31 eV and D$\text{}_{0}$ = 3×10$\text{}^{-7}$ cm$\text{}^{2}$s.

Przedstawiono produkcję cydru i/lub perry na uproszczonych zasadach jako źródło dodatkowego dochodu w gospodarstwie sadowniczym. Określono przewidywane nakłady inwestycyjne, koszty produkcji oraz dochody z dodatkowej produkcji cydru i perry, a także dokonano rachunku opłacalności inwestycji nowego przedsięwzięcia. Z przeprowadzonej analizy wynika, że planowane przedsięwzięcie ma szanse powodzenia i może być propozycją zwiększenia dochodów dla gospodarstw ukierunkowanych na produkcję sadowniczą. Inwestycja, przy określonym ustawą limicie produkcji przyniesie inwestorowi ponad 35 tys. zł dochodu rocznie oraz pozwoli zagospodarować około 13,5 t jabłek i/lub gruszek z gospodarstwa.
The paper presents the production of cider and / or perry on a simplified basis as a source of additional income in fruit farm. The study determined the projected capital expenditures, production costs and revenue from the production, as well as the profitability of the new venture. The analysis show that the proposed project has a chance of success and could be a proposal to increase income for households aimed at the fruits production.

Opis:
A new record of the phosphate microbrachiopod genus Acrotretella Ireland, 1961 from the Lower Ordovician of the Baltic syneclise, in north-east Poland is the oldest known species of the genus. Acrotretella goldapiensis sp. n. co-occurs with conodonts in shallow-water facies of Late Llanvirn age. The new data from Poland extend the statigraphical range of the genus from the Llanvirn to the middle Silurian (Ludlow); during the later Ordovician and Early Silurian Acrotretella apparently migrated westwards to sequentially occupy shallow-water facies on the palaeocontinents of Baltoscandia (Poland and Sweden), Avalonia (England), Laurentia (North America) and Australasia (Australia) with relatively little morphological change.
Ramienionóg Acrotretella heland, 1961 nie jest, jak to przez długi okres przypuszczano monospecyficznym rodzajem ograniczonym do późnego syluru Ameryki Północnej, i ewentualnie Europy (Wielka Brytania: Ireland 1961; Satterfield & Thomas 1969; Rowell 1965). Ma on znacznie szerszy zasięg paleogeograficzno-stratygraficzny. Rodzaj ten został znaleziony również w górnosylurskich osadach Zachodniej Australii (Dean-Jones 1975) oraz w ordowickich osadach Szwecji (Holmer 1986, 1989) i Polski (obecna praca). Jak dotąd, rodzaj ten obejmuje cztery udokumentowane gatunki, w tym trzy ordowickie. Nowy gatunek Acrotretella goldapiensis z ordowiku Polski (Synekliza Bałtycka - wiercenie Gołdap-IG, opisany w niniejszej pracy jest, jak dotąd, najstarszym przedstawicielem rodzaju Acrotretella. Współwystępujące konodonty określają wiek gatunku na późny lanwirn.

Tick-borne pathogens are common in the natural environment, but their occurrence has a focal character. They occur in the natural environment in the form of the enzootic sources of infection. The general components include the animal reservoir, amplifiers and the efficient vector. However, the particular role of components can differ depending on the pathogen, the host range and possible transmission routes. Animal reservoir of pathogen are vertebrate animals, being the hosts of pathogens. In Europe these are small or medium-sized mammals and sometimes birds that feed on the ground. The competence of an animal reservoir is determined by the ability to communicate the infection; long-term persistence of the pathogen in the host; long-duration of infectivity of the animal for ticks; a sufficient number of animals in the endemic region. Amplifiers for ticks are artiodactyls. They are hosts for nymphs and adult ticks, thereby making it possible for ticks to propagate and maintain the proper size of their population. Efficient vector for pathogen are ticks. The first characteristic feature of efficient vectors is feeding duration exceeding 24 hours; the high density of the tick population. The conditions necessary to consider ticks as efficient vectors are met in Central Europe by the Ixodes ricinus, Dermacentor reticulatus and D. marginatus ticks. There are the general differences in biology between Ixodes persulcatus complex ticks and Dermacentor ticks, affecting their different role and ability in pathogens spreading – the range of hosts; the ability to inhabiting of various environments and resistance to unfavourable conditions; the duration of larvae and nymphs activity. The combination of tick’s biology, pathogen ability to transmission, and mammal hosts’ competence, determines the particular role of larvae, nymphs and adults in pathogen circulation in the natural environment, as well as transmission to new hosts.
