    This article describes results of the survey, which was conducted in the context of investigating the readiness of selected companies in the Czech Republic to implement the principles of Industry 4.0. The main objective of the survey was to analyze the level of a basic knowledge of this topic in enterprises, the existence of appropriate strategies, responsible persons, and the general awareness among employees.

    This contribution concerns the problems of information system in the broadest meaning of the word and the approaches and methods used to analyse it. This work examines how they are percepted in present days and what is their mutual relationship. It outlines the possibilities and problems of analysis, defines the relationship of information system and processes. Anyway, many analytic instruments and methods ́ results give the similar output as our motto. This contribution emphasizes the importance of the holistic comprehension of the term “information system” and the importance of its general quality in relation to principles of modern management.

    The main purpose of this article is to deal with the situation and implementation of Industry 4.0. The first part of the article is informative - it guides the reader with the evolution of industry (first - fourth industrial revolutions). The following part deals directly with Industry 4.0 and its characteristics. This concept focuses on digitization of all physical assets and integration into the digital ecosystem, including business partners within the value chain. Also, “pillars” on which Industry 4.0 relies, are presented here. The next part deals with Industry 4.0 initiative implementation. Eight crucial issues were selected here. The final part of the article proposes some solutions and suggestions for future implementation.

    Opis:
    Contemporary science and business regard controlling as the inseparable part of the modern management concept. The current scientific and practical knowledge of industrial engineering was used as a basis for identification the main tasks of controlling management in an enterprise. The analysis of controlling tasks frequency shows, that the cost calculation and the performance calculation belong among the most frequent tasks, and that there is some kind of evaluation for all (production or nonproduction) areas in enterprises. Lean production is characterized by elimination of redundant, useless or partly necessary processes. Lean production is considered as the basis for the network enterprises and clusters. Individual enterprises are selected to clusters on the basis of rules of outsourcing.

    This contribution deals with business process optimization and management. The aim of this paper is to introduce new CQT methodology for process management and optimization. This new methodology combines known principles and methods for the process management and optimization. The CQT (Cost-Quality- Time) methodology target is the quality improvement, process time and cost reduction as principal process management objectives. The contribution presents also a practical application of the CQT methodology for printed circuit board manufacturing.

    The main scope of this article deals with business information system and their innovation. On the base of analogy manufacturing technology and with using of methodology ITIL and CobiT is suggest way of evaluation and innovation of the business information systems for each of their partial areas. These areas are functionality of information system, SW decision support, data, controlling of IT, processes in IT, peoples in IT, information and communication technology. There is a rule being defined for each innovation area in a seven-step scale, and with this approach the innovation can be reached for each single area and in different levels. Innovation levels are part of suggested methodology, which offers evaluation and innovation of business information system.

    Opis:
    Augmented reality technology (AR), also known as mixed reality, allows to enhance the seen reality with additional, virtual objects, displayed right in front of the user’s eyes. The article presents the concept of using Augmented Reality glasses, to support the user with pre-defined knowledge and instructions, giving the ability to do the job without almost any idea of what should be done. The operator simply follows the instructions shown in front of the eyes and communicate with the system with simple gesture and voice. Additionally, the article touches the topic of Artificial Intelligence (AI) which will allow the system in the future to have not only the pre-defined, hard coded instructions, but also the flexibility to give different hints to the user based on a different situation observed.
