The article presents the safety issue bonded to the Polish Air Force F-16 multirole aircraft. The authors pointed out the issue of fuel used for emergency supply system of these aircrafts. The article emphasized the fact that these aircrafts require special fuel with designation H-70, which is 70% aqueous solution of toxic hydrazine. For this reason, the rescue services of Polish Air Force bases where Polish F-16 are stationed had to be adjusted accordingly. Just as importantly, authors noticed that in the event of an emergency landing of this aircraft at different airports could receive difficulties associated with the possible leakage of hydrazine, or its neutralization in the absence of specialized Hydrazine Response Team, which are part of the Airport Rescue Group. After the introduction of new aircraft for use in the Polish Air Force (in this case F-16 multirole aircraft), it is necessary to analyse the safety of their use in the context of potential places on which they can land. This is related, among others, to the safety of managing liquid fuels. In the case of F-16 aircraft, one must bear in mind besides the F-34 fuel, also hydrazine (H- 70). The article presents a functional diagram of EPU system of emergency power supply EPS of F-16 multirole aircraft.

The article describes emergency situations occurring in the propulsion system of an aircraft with the jet engine used in Poland on planes such as MiG-29 or F-16. The article also presents statistics of polish aircrafts damage over the years. Due to the technological progress of turbine engines used in fighter aircraft, the authors decided to discuss the issue of monitoring emergency states in this study. In particular, efforts have been made to ensure that damage to the aircraft engine can be prevented by monitoring its operation with the equipment available on the aircraft. Counteracting phenomena that occur in the jet engine can lead to permanent damage; can lead to an increase in the safety of the pilot and the local population, but also to a reduction of costs. The authors also decided to se the threats that occur during take-off and landing, and the flight when they land outside the plane. Jet engines are almost reliable and most common cause of engine damages as the analysis shows are foreign bodies, particularly dangerous for a turbine engine on or near the runway, as well as birds, which provides to mechanical damage of engine. Securing the airport against foreign objects on the runway is one of the most important tasks of ground staff.

The article presents systems, which record parameters of flight in modern aircraft F-16, which was delivered to Polish Airforce in 2006. With the current level of technical development of the aviation industry, data acquisition systems are an important element of all aircrafts. These systems are responsible for the flight safety, allow reading and storing the most important flight parameters, and combined with digital control and safety systems allow to counteract dangerous situations, which especially can happen often in the case of military aircraft such as the F-16 due to their combat purpose. Systems records basics parameters of plane and engine, as specific fuel consumption or height of flight provides video and audio recording, and aerial combat assistance. These systems record even failures of a braking system during landing. Thanks to modern technology, and devices like those described in this article, F-16 is one of the best fighters in the world. The amount of data provided by analogue and digital sensors is so large that it requires the partitioning of parameters and use of several basic recorders of the entire system is the unit called DAU, or Data Acquisition Unit, which records the most important flight parameters, such as flight time, engine speed, or altitude.

The main purpose of this article was to select airfoil, which generates the biggest lift coefficient, with possibly smallest drag coefficient when the airfoil flies in the wing in ground effect. Wing in ground effect occurs in the direct proximity of ground, the article presents wing in ground effect creation mechanism description with automotive and aerospace examples. The article shows also wing in ground conditions of Ansys Fluent software simulation for all cases with conditions of analysis convergence. The article contains results of the numerical analysis for ten airfoils in three different positive angles of attack in the wing in ground flight; ten airfoils for free stream flight in the same angles of attack as in wing in ground effect, results contains lift and drag coefficients with NACA M8 airfoil presentation as authors choice for wing in ground effect crafts airfoil with full simulation results for angles of attack from –5° to 15°, with profile characteristics. The article shows physics of stall in the wing in ground effect, and a description why stall in WIG effect flight occurs only with drag coefficient rise without lift coefficient drop, and safety measures for aircraft landing with wing in ground effect influence.

The main purpose of this article was to study flaps application influence on airfoil, which flies in the wing in ground effect with lift, and drag coefficients changes. Wing in ground effect occurs in the direct proximity of ground, it makes lift coefficient higher than in free stream flight, also decreases drag coefficient. WIG effect craft can be an alternative for traditional aircraft, but also for marine transportation. The article presents wing in ground effect creation mechanism description with height coefficient explanation, also presents experimental analysis of lift coefficient with reference to height coefficient. Airfoil with flaps simulation and for free stream flight. Application of flaps makes the wing in ground effect more efficient by lift coefficient rise, what provides also to drag coefficient rise. Flaps provide to absolute pressure rise under the airfoil. It allows to fly slower without lift force change or to make aircraft start shorter without risk of stall. The article shows also conditions and results of Ansys Fluent software simulation for NACA M8 airfoil for angles of attack equal to: 0°, 6°, 10° for three different cases: free stream flight, wing in ground flight with the clear wing, wing in ground flight with flaps, and conditions of analysis convergence.

The suitability of low-cost impedance sensors for microbiological purposes and biofilm growth monitoring was evaluated. The sensors with interdigitated electrodes were fabricated in PCB and LTCC technologies. The electrodes were golden (LTCC) or gold-plated (PCB) to provide surface stability. The sensors were used for monitoring growth and degradation of the reference ATCC 15442 Pseudomonas aeruginosa strain biofilm in invitro setting. During the experiment, the impedance spectra of the sensors were measured and analysed using electrical equivalent circuit (EEC) modelling. Additionally, the process of adhesion and growth of bacteria on a sensor’s surface was assessed by means of the optical and SEM microscopy. EEC and SEM microscopic analysis revealed that the gold layer on copper electrodes was not tight, making the PCB sensors susceptible to corrosion while the LTCC sensors had good surface stability. It turned out that the LTCC sensors are suitable for monitoring pseudomonal biofilm and the PCB sensors are good detectors of ongoing stages of biofilm formation.

This paper presents the methodology of studies the content of carotenoids, which changes during the transport and storage of fruits and vegetables. For these compounds, proposed stages of research to their isolation and identification. This will allow you to develop procedures to improve the efficiency of the mass transport of food products from the point of view of minimizing losses during transport.

The main purpose of this article was to point out causes of reduced fuel consumption in aircraft jet engine when aircraft is in ground effect influence. Wing in ground effect occurs in the direct proximity of ground. The paper presents wing in ground effect description, with the numerical analysis of NACA M8 airfoil in three different conditions of flight. Numerical analysis was conduct in Ansys Fluent 17.2 software. The paper shows results of simulations which describes wing in ground effect influence on NACA M8 airfoil with two cases of jet engine exhaust gasses usage, first with exhaust gasses stream turns on upper airfoil surface, and second with exhaust gasses stream turns under lower airfoil surface. Results allow to define characteristics of NACA M8 airfoil in the influence of wing in ground effect which are lift coefficient, drag coefficient, drop of fuel consumption usage by the jet engine when lift force remains still in the wing in ground effect. The paper shows that in the wing in ground effect aircraft energy usage for flight in ground effect is smaller than for free air flight.

In our previous work we reported the impact of hydrofluoric and nitric acid used for chemical polishing of Ti-6Al-7Nb scaffolds on decrease of the number of Staphylococcus aureus biofilm forming cells. Herein, we tested impact of the aforementioned substances on biofilm of Gram-negative microorganism, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, dangerous pathogen responsible for plethora of implant-related infections. The Ti-6Al-7Nb scaffolds were manufactured using Selective Laser Melting method. Scaffolds were subjected to chemical polishing using a mixture of nitric acid and fluoride or left intact (control group). Pseudomonal biofilm was allowed to form on scaffolds for 24 hours and was removed by mechanical vortex shaking. The number of pseudomonal cells was estimated by means of quantitative culture and Scanning Electron Microscopy. The presence of nitric acid and fluoride on scaffold surfaces was assessed by means of IR and rentgen spetorscopy. Quantitative data were analysed using the Mann–Whitney test (P ≤ 0.05). Our results indicate that application of chemical polishing correlates with significant drop of biofilm-forming pseudomonal cells on the manufactured Ti-6Al-7Nb scaffolds ( p = 0.0133, Mann–Whitney test) compared to the number of biofilm-forming cells on non-polished scaffolds. As X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy revealed the presence of fluoride and nitrogen on the surface of scaffold, we speculate that drop of biofilm forming cells may be caused by biofilm-supressing activity of these two elements.

W artykule omówiono wykorzystanie odpadów tartacznych jako źródła energii w transporcie oraz energetyce. Dyrektywy Unii Europejskiej oraz przyjęte uchwały zobowiązują Polskę do zwiększenia wykorzystania zasobów energii odnawialnej, tak aby udział tej energii w finalnym zużyciu energii brutto osiągnął w 2020 roku 15%. Około 80 % energii pozyskanej z odnawialnych źródeł stanowią biopaliwa stałe. Analizie poddane zostały odpady wytwarzane w tartaku o wysokiej sprawności znajdującym się w województwie wielkopolskim. Na podstawie zebranych informacji określono stosunek ilości odpadów do rocznego przerobu tartaku. Następnie obliczono wartość opałową odpadów i przeprowadzono analizę wykorzystania odpadów jako źródła energii na potrzeby cieplno-energetyczne tartaku. W pracy wykazano, że ilość odpadów otrzymywanych w wyniku obróbki kłód zaspokoi zapotrzebowanie tartaku na energię cieplną.
The article show of waste as an energy source's foremost transport and energy. Directive of the European Union and adopted resolutions oblige Poland to increase the use of renewable energy resources. The participation of this energy in the final gross energy consumption has reached 15% by 2020. About 80% of energy obtained from renewable sources constitute biofuel. Analysis of waste have been manufactured for high-efficiency sawmill located in Wielkopolska. On the basis of the information collected referred to the ratio of the quantity of the waste for processing of annual sawmill. Then calculated calorific value of the waste and the use of waste as a source of energy analysis for thermo-energy sawmill. In the article is shown that the amount of waste obtained by the processing of logs will satisfy the demand of the sawmill on thermal energy.

A new discrete-time sliding-mode congestion controller for connection-oriented networks is proposed. Packet losses which may occur during the transmission process are explicitly taken into account. Two control laws are presented, each obtained by minimizing a different cost functional. The first one concentrates on the output variable, whereas in the second one the whole state vector is considered. Weighting factors for adjusting the influence of the control signal and appropriate (state or output) errors are incorporated in both the functionals. The asymptotic stability of the closed-loop system is proved, and the conditions for 100% bottleneck node bandwidth utilization are derived. The performance of the proposed algorithm is verified by computer simulations.

Przedmiotem artykułu jest próba przedstawienia zarysu dziejów kartografii miast polskich od XVI do końca XIX wieku. Cezurę początkową stanowią najstarsze zachowane kartografika miejskie, natomiast cezurę końcową „produkcja" kartograficzna towarzysząca regulacji miast Królestwa Polskiego po tzw. reformie miejskiej lat 1869-1870 i pierwsze mapy lindleyowskie. Podstawę źródłową artykułu stanowią kartografika przechowywane w zbiorach polskich. Autorzy artykułu wykorzystali także wydawnictwa źródłowe i katalogi dotyczące map wielkoskalowych miast Rzeczypospolitej i miast pozostających obecnie w granicach państwa polskiego. Uwzględniono prace kartografów polskich i obcych pracujących na rzecz polskich odbiorców, a także cudzoziemców, głównie inżynierów wojskowych służących w armiach, które prowadziły wojny na ziemiach Rzeczypospolitej.
The authors attempt to present the history of cartography of Polish cities from the 16th until the end of the 19th century. The oldest preserved city maps constitute the initial caesura and the cartographic 'production' accompanying the regulation of cities of the Kingdom of Poland after the so called city reform of 1869-1870 and W. Lindley's first maps - constitutes the final caesura. Maps and plans stored in Polish collections form the article's source basis. The authors have also used source publications and catalogues of large scale maps of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth and of cities which are currently included within the boundaries of the Polish state. There have remained only few large scale 16th century maps. There exist individual copies, mainly of large cities or of those which were strategically important and had fortifications. They were made in connection with urban processes and construction activity. Large scale maps were also made to settle ownership rights and for fiscal reasons. G. Braun's and F. Hogenberg's plans and city views are among the most valuable works of urban cartography. However, the maps made during the 17th century and the beginning of 18th century wars in Poland have higher recognize value. The most valuable among those are the works of a Swedish army engineer, general E. J. Dahlbergh. They were published in part in the work of S. Pufendorf. Urban cartographic 'production' increased in the 18th century. During the reign of August II and August III, mainly two kinds of elaborations were made: 1) maps of Polish cities besieged during the wars fought at the beginning of the 18th century and 2) city plans, mainly of Warsaw, made in connection with urban and construction activity of Saxons. Cartography, including large scale cartography, thrived during the reign of king Stanisław August Poniatowski. During that time, not only maps being the result of the king's urban and construction activity were made, but also plans elaborated for such city institutions as the Paving Committee and the Boni Ordinis Committee. The authors of large scale city maps of Poland were the best contemporary cartographers and architects, such as PR. de Tirregaille, A. Hiz, H. Jedrzejowski, M. Deutsch, J. Fontana and D. Merlini. The most numerous among the maps which have survived up to this day are the maps created in the 19th century. The partitioning states' cartographic 'production' after the third partitioning of Poland (1795) mainly concerned ownership and fiscal matters. In the period of the Duchy of Warsaw, city plans were mainly made in connection with fortification works conducted at the time. Urban cartography grew most dynamically during the constitutional period of the Kingdom of Poland (1815-1830). In order to make large scale maps of Warsaw, knowledge and organizational potential of military topographic services were used. In urban cartography, methods and models obligatorily used until the end of the 19th century were created. Also in the period of conducting regulation works which followed the implementation of the so called urban reform, many large scale urban maps were created. In the history of Polish city cartography, the 19th century is concluded with cartographic works done in connection with the construction of water supply and sewer system in Warsaw.

Opis:
The purpose of this paper is to develop robust and computationally efficient supply chain management strategy ensuring fast reaction to the demand variations for periodic review perishable inventory systems. For that purpose, we apply a sliding mode approach and we propose a new discrete time warehouse management strategy. The strategy employs the sliding hyperplane appropriately designed to ensure a dead-beat performance of the closed loop system. Our strategy not only explicitly takes into account decay of goods stored in the warehouse (perishing inventories) but it also accounts for transportation losses which take place on the way from suppliers to the warehouse. The proposed strategy ensures full customers’ demand satisfaction, minimizes the on-hand inventory volume and prevents from exceeding the warehouse capacity. This reflects the need of simultaneous minimization of the lost sales costs and inventory holding costs. Furthermore, the strategy ensures that the ordered quantities of goods are always non-negative and upper bounded. These favourable properties of the proposed strategy are formally stated as a lemma and three theorems and proved in the paper.
