Opis:
In recent years, a significant development of technologies related to the control and communication of mobile robots, including Unmanned Aerial Vehicles, has been noticeable. Developing these technologies requires having the necessary hardware and software to enable prototyping and simulation of control algorithms in laboratory conditions. The article presents the Laboratory of Intelligent Mobile Robots equipped with the latest solutions. The laboratory equipment consists of four quadcopter drones (QDrone) and two wheeled robots (QBot), equipped with rich sensor sets, a ground control station with Matlab-Simulink software, OptiTRACK object tracking system, and the necessary infrastructure for communication and security. The paper presents the results of measurements from sensors of robots monitoring various quantities during work. The measurements concerned, among others, the quantities of robots registered by IMU sensors of the tested robots (i.e., accelerometers, magnetometers, gyroscopes and others).

Opis:
In this work, the compressive residual strength tests results, Compression After Impact (CAI), are presented. The specimens were made of carbon-epoxy prepreg E722-02 UHS 130-14. Two variants of specimens were tested: samples undamaged and samples with damage that was centrally introduced by a drop-weight impact, as per the ASTM D7136/7136M standard. An impactor with potential energy equal to 15J and the type of support required by the standard were used. The size of impacted damages, defined as an area of damage on a plane perpendicular to the impact direction, and the equivalent diameter were specified using the flash thermography method. The tests were performed using the fixtures manufactured according to the ASTM D7137/7137M standard. The specimens were compressed to determine the residual strength. This value was afterwards used to specify the force levels for the fatigue tests. The fatigue tests were carried out under force control – with a sinusoidal shape, stress ratio R equal to 0.1 and frequency f 1Hz. Maximum force in a loading cycle Pmax was being increased after each thousand of cycles N until its value was close to the residual strength determined in the previously mentioned tests. In this work, the following relationships were presented: force-displacement P-δ for both static and fatigue tests and displacement-loading cycles δ-N for fatigue tests. A method of conducting the fatigue tests of CFRP composite was proposed, in which both the CAI specimens and CAI fixture were used. This allowed researchers to accelerate making initial comparisons between the two groups of specimens with damages – grouped relative to the way of conditioning.

Opis:
Contemporary geodesy is of global dimension. The reference frame is defined as the geocentric system with parameters related to the entire Earth body, e.g. the axis of rotation, and global geoid. The unified time scale is determined for the whole Earth territory as well. International services using different satellite techniques are engaged in the determination of this frame. Particularly important is the Global Positioning System GPS, which is the most important geodetic tool nowadays. In Poland a number of geodetic observatories are working in the frame of the international networks, Polish scientific groups contribute to the advancement of science in this domain. For the practical applications we are using the local networks that again are constructed with satellite techniques. In Europe the regional network EUREF exists while its part EUREF-POL and densification POLREF are in Poland. The modern network ASG-EUPOS is under construction. The GPS technique is used for surveying and navigation and for the positioning in motion, which is in-between the preceding traditional methods. Differential augmentation methods are designed to improve GPS signals such as DGPS and EGNOS. The new European satellite navigation system Galileo is in development. Poland is a member and coowner of this system. A number of Polish research institutions are working on new methods of the practical application of GNSS.

Opis:
Laboratory for Materials Strength Testing (LMST) has been conducting accredited mechanical research for aviation from 2003. Among accredited procedures are e.g. low and high cycle fatigue tests, fracture toughness tests and fatigue crack growth rate tests. The main goal of them is obtaining materials constants and characteristics. However knowledge how to conduct these tests could be used also in other applications, for instance in the work on development of Structural Health Monitoring systems (SHM). When cracks propagate in a controlled way in laboratory conditions, it allows verifying the operation of a single sensor or a network of sensors. In this paper, an overview of mechanical tests carried out at the Laboratory for Materials Strength Testing within Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT) work on research and development of SHM systems is presented. Specimens prepared from materials such as aluminum alloys (among other withdrawn PZL-130 Orlik TC-II aircraft) and CFRP composite were tested under different mechanical loads, i.e., cycle and impact loads. In the presented research, both constant amplitude and spectrum loads were applied.

The objective of the research presented in this paper was to determine the honeycomb core compliance of a sandwich structure of the horizontal stabilizer of the MiG-29 fighter jet in the static compression test. The study of the specimen was conducted based on the ASTM C365/C365M standard. The article presents the results of experimentally determined dependencies and strength parameters, i.e. the force-displacement dependence, the compressive modulus and the honeycomb core deformations.

Opis:
INTRODUCTION In the recent years, the problem of emigration of young people has con- siderably increased, resulting in shortages in the domestic labour market. Aim of the survey was assessment of career plans and reasons for emigra- tion of students of chosen faculties at Polish universities. MATERIAL AND METHODS The survey was conducted at 5 Polish universities at 4 faculties (medicine, dentistry, physiotherapy and cosmetology) with the use of an anonymous author’s questionnaire. RESULTS 40.4% out of the surveyed 1812 individuals are planning to emigrate to other countries after graduation. Their destinations include mainly Great Britain and Scandinavian countries. The students do not specify duration of emigration. In majority of cases they choose the answers “for some time” and “for several years”. No signifi cant diff erences between the facul- ties were found as far as the reason of emigration, its duration and country of destination are concerned. The majority of students are well informed about relevant conditions and are actively preparing themselves to emigra- tion. CONCLUSIONS Over 40% students are planning to emigrate after graduation. The reasons why they emigrate include: salaries, diffi culties in professional education, work organization and professional prestige. Based on the aforementioned reasons for emigration proper solutions, both economic and organization-al ones, should be put in place urgently in order to encourage the young to stay in the country or return from emigration.
Kraje docelowe to głównie Wielka Brytania i kraje skandynawskie.
