Opis:
Blast furnace operation requires highest quality raw materials, operation and operators. Among them coke is the most important, in terms of its effect on operation and hot metal quality. A good grade coke produces highest thermal energy and it is highly efficient in case of metal reduction. Usage of good grade coke to blast furnace will ensure lower coke rate, higher productivity and lower hot metal cost. In order to concentrate the carbon in coke the coke making process involves carbonation of coal to high temperature (1100°C) in oxygen free atmosphere. There is need to automate the coke oven operations as much as possible. In order to improve the level of control and management of coke oven, the research on intelligent control system is carried out. In modern advanced control system of coke oven, the control scheme of combination, feedback & feed-forward merged with management are widely utilized. The integrated management and control system of coke oven is introduced systematically, including the production plan and scheduling management (Dynamic scheduling) & heating control system (Mathematical modeling) i.e. evaluating battery temperature, intelligent combustion control and pressure control of gas collector of coke oven battery.

Opis:
We have prepared $Co_{x}Cu_{1-x}$ granular alloys with Co contents (x ≈ 0.01-0.30) by chemical reduction. Samples are characterized by X-ray diffraction and transmission electron microscopy yielding particles of mean diameter 8-20 nm formed in fcc phase. The branching in ZFC/FC magnetization behavior confirm superparamagnetism in the samples, characterized by blocking temperature distributions which represent variations in particle size and inhomogeneities of their chemical compositions. Magnetic field dependence of magnetization show hysteresis loops, and the magnetization at any temperature 4-300 K is a combination of ferromagnetism and superparamagnetism. The saturation moment of Co for the ferromagnetism part increases with the Co content. But the coercive fields $(H_{C})$ and magnetic anisotropy of the particles do not vary with Co concentration. Annealed samples exhibit exchange bias in the range 20-150 Oe at 4 K. The results indicate formation of nanoparticles of CoCu alloy in a core-shell type structure with Co being concentrated near the core.

Opis:
In NdCo₂Si₂, partial substitution of Co by V having a larger atomic radius results in negative pressure affecting the magnetic properties of the compound. The samples $Nd(Co_{1-x}V_{x})_Si_2$ (x=0, 0.20, 0.35) have been prepared and characterized using X-ray diffraction. The parent compound NdCo₂Si₂ is antiferromagnetic with $T_{N}$ of 34 K whereas the temperature dependence of inverse susceptibility in the doped samples show ferrimagnetic behaviour below 45 K. From the magnetic field dependence of magnetization and the coercive fields obtained from hysteresis loops, the doped samples exhibit ferromagnetism below ≈ 20 K. The specific heat studies compare the magnetic transitions in the parent and doped samples. $Nd(Co_{0.65}V_{0.35})_2Si_2$ shows a magnetoresistance of 15% at 4 K.

Opis:
Introduction: Breathing involves respiratory muscle activities by recruiting motor units. The obstructive and restrictive lung diseases were categorized based on spirometric measurement. Measurement of respiratory muscle function is important in the diagnosis of respiratory disease or dysfunction. Purpose: This study focuses on the involvement of motor units in diaphragm, external intercostals and latissimus dorsi muscles during voluntary contractions in young boys having obstructive and restrictive lung diseases. Materials and methods: Fifty eight young male (14-20 years) were participated and they were grouped into three (normal, restrictive and obstructive) according to their lung condition measured by Spirometry. One way ANOVA was done to understand the significant differences between the muscles of three groups. Involvement of motor unit was shown by plotting the Line diagrams. Mean and standard deviation along with one way ANOVA were calculated in case of three respiratory muscles (External intercostals, Diaphragm, and latissimus dorsi) for three groups. Results: No significant differences were found among three groups during performing Forced vital capacity (FVC), Slow vital capacity (SVC), Maximum voluntary ventilation (MVV), and Minute ventilation (MV). Line diagram shows that during FVC, SVC, and MVV responses of different muscles are higher in three different groups except during MV. Conclusion: This study states that motor unit involvement is different in the case of three different conditions. It can be concluded that restrictive and obstructive diseases might not be interpreted on the basis of only spirometric measurements in static and dynamic lung conditions. Motor unit activation and responses of major respiratory muscles were important determinants during spirometric measurements

Opis:
Dysfunction of T-helper 1 mediated immune responses is a hallmark of the progression of visceral leishmaniosis (VL). Several factors such as altered antigen presentation, and abnormalities in MHC/HLA, antigen processing, and T cell receptor recognition regulate the onset of immunosuppression. Recent investigations on VL patients suggest that susceptibility to visceral leishmaniosis is genetically determined and varies between populations in different geographical locations. Emerging evidence also indicates the importance of the role played by myeloid derived suppressor cells in progressive VL. This study provides a mechanistic view of means to target the signaling mechanisms of immunosuppression to determine potential therapeutic interventions.
