    Rodzina jest środowiskiem, które w największym stopniu pozostawia swój ślad i piętno w strukturze tożsamości człowieka. Wynika to zarówno z szerokiego w swoich ramach, jak i permanentnego charakteru oddziaływań. Każda rodzina wytwarza i reguluje swoistą rodzinną tożsamość. Można ją rozpatrywać jako pewien azymut poczucia bycia kimś przynależącym do ważnej, konkretnej wspólnoty rodzinnej, pomimo zmian, które się dokonują w nas i wokół nas. Przedstawiony tekst jest próbą dookreślenia specyfiki kategorii tożsamości rodzinnej, co może posłużyć stworzeniu modelu badań nad systemem rodzinnym, a w konsekwencji ułatwić planowanie i kontrolę procesów edukacyjnych, profilaktycznych oraz interwencyjnych w celu zoptymalizowania funkcjonowania tego systemu.
    The family constitutes an environment which leaves an indelible mark on the structure of the individual’s identity and permanently shapes its character. This is due to the family’s comprehensive and long-lasting influence on the individual. Each family develop and regulate their unique family- identity. We may consider family-membership as the unsurpassed experince of belonging to the fundamental and specific family community. Family constitutes a reference-point notwithstanding the changes we undergo and the changes occuring in the world surrounding us. The submitted paper is an approach to characterize the main features constituting family identity. This may be crucial to develop a research model for the complex family-system and, in its way, support and promote the planning and control of educational procedures as well as implement preventive measures and interventions necessary in order to optimize the functioning of this intrinsic system.

    Rodzina jest środowiskiem, które w największym stopniu pozostawia swój ślad i piętno w strukturze tożsamości człowieka. Wynika to zarówno z szerokiego w swoich ramach, jak i permanentnego charakteru oddziaływań. Każda rodzina wytwarza i reguluje swoistą rodzinną tożsamość. W tekście przedstawione zostały wyniki badań prowadzonych w grupie młodzieży akademickiej dotyczących poziomu poczucia satysfakcji z funkcjonowania ich rodziny pochodzenia oraz próba uchwycenia czynników je warunkujących. Analizy prezentowanych modeli ukazują obraz młodzieży akademickiej, która w swoich orientacjach życiowych bardzo ceni rodzinę, jako podstawowy punkt odniesienia w konstrukcie ich własnej tożsamości. Widoczne jest duże zorientowanie na wspólnotowy charakter jej funkcjonowania, jakość relacji poszczególnych członków systemu oraz możliwość własnego partycypowania w zasadach i regułach wypracowywanych w rodzinie. Kształtująca się w nich tożsamość rodzinna jest pewnego rodzaju negocjowanym tworem uznanych przez nich tradycji rodzinnych, z jednoczesnymi zarysowanymi tendencjami dekonstrukcji dotychczasowych modelowych sposobów ujmowania struktury rodzinnej, na rzecz poszukiwania innego spojrzenia, które jest rodzajem adaptacji systemu do dynamicznie zmieniających się warunków społeczno-kulturowych.
    The family is the environment that leaves its mark and imprint the most in the structure of the human identity. This is because of both the broadly reaching and permanent character of impacts. Every family creates and regulates its peculiar familial identity. The text presents the results of research conducted in the group of academic youth regarding the sense of family functionality and an attempt to capture the determinants of them. Analyzes of the presented models show the image of academic youth who, in their life orientations, highly values the family as the basic reference point in the construction of their own identity. There is a visible focus on the community nature of its functioning, the quality of the 179T.     The family is the environment that leaves its mark and imprint the most in the structure of the human identity. This is because of both the broadly reaching and permanent character of impacts. Every family creates and regulates its particular familial identity. It can be seen as a kind of azimuth of feeling of being a member of an important, specific family community, despite the changes that are taking place in and around us. The text presents the results of research conducted in the group of academic youth regarding the level of the sense of satisfaction with the functioning of their family of origin and an attempt to capture the determinants of them. There are significant differences in the range of predictors building models for the whole group, compared to models built separately for the group of males and females. This indicates a high level of diversity in the perception of the family of origin system among the surveyed students. Analyses of the presented models show the image of academic youth who, in their life orientations, highly values the family as the basic reference point in the construction of their own identity. There is a visible focus on the community nature of its functioning, the quality of the relations of individual members of the system and the possibility of participating in the rules and rules developed in the family. The family identity that develops with said rules is a kind of negotiated creation of the family traditions recognized by them, with simultaneous outlined tendencies of deconstruction of the existing model ways of capturing the family structure, in favor of seeking a different view, which is a kind of adaptation of the system to dynamically changing socio-cultural conditions.

    Current processes of globalization and increased mobility of people have caused that the competencies for intercultural communication become a condition for proper functioning of society. Together with a group of researchers from the Faculty of Pedagogy and Psychology, University of Bialystok, we undertook a research on conditions of intercultural communication competence of young people in the Northeastern Poland. These competencies result from four dimensions: knowledge of cultural differences, reaction to situations involving cultural differences, position on the continuum of ethnocentrism - relativism and attitudes toward cultural diversity. In the text, I present the analysis of selected factors that influence the family which result in the development of communicative competence in the studied group. The main idea is that family, in spite of social changes, is still the most important socializing group which creates life attitudes of young people.

    The dynamics of changes in the modern world require continuous updating of analyses concerning the nature of social relations and the processes occurring therein. This paper constitutes an attempt to outline analysis of processes occurring in the family system under variable social conditions. One modern challenge researchers face is conducting research (including research of the family system) under inter- and multi-cultural conditions. This necessitates accounting for the following variables over the course of research: nature of the location where entities function, their cultural, ethnic, religious or national diversity, the fact of participation in migration phenomena, globalization trends and multiple social identities of social units or groups. The author has made both the theoretical background and specific examples of dilemmas that the author encounters in counseling practice the core of analysis, in the context of undertaken diagnostic and therapeutic measures. The situation of a mixed couple with high cultural, ethnic, religious or national diversity, dilemmas related to the dual identity of children from mixed married couples, preservation of the family system participating in migratory processes (including return migration) as well as work with immigrant families seem to be good exemplifications of the inter-cultural dilemmas encountered in the context of counseling. This is intended to increase awareness of increasingly common problems in society and social units, and simultaneously to create conditions for multi-cultural societies accounting for globalization processes that can currently be observed.

    W artykule przedstawiono związki uporu (grit) oraz jego dwóch aspektów – wytrwałości w wysiłku i spójności zainteresowań ze skłonnością do przestrzegania zasad i zaleceń ustanowionych przez rząd w czasie pandemii Covid-19. Zaprezentowane wyniki bazują na danych zebranych w trakcie badania zrealizowanego w grupie 275 uczniów szkół średnich z obszaru województwa podlaskiego. W badaniu wykorzystano autorski kwestionariusz do pomiaru funkcjonowania młodzieży w czasie pandemii Covid-19 oraz skalę Short Grit Scale (SGS) A. Lee Duckworth w polskiej adaptacji P. Wyszyńskiej (Wyszyńska i in. 2017). Uzyskane wyniki wskazują na związki grit, a w szczególności wytrwałości w wysiłku ze skłonnością do przestrzegania zaleceń epidemicznych w grupie badanych kobiet. W grupie badanych mężczyzn nie stwierdzono istotnych statystycznie zależności. Sugeruje to, iż czynnik grit może być jednym z ważnych zasobów osobistych przyczyniających się do zachowań prospołecznych, który powinien być skapitalizowany w toku działań prewencyjnych i praktyce resocjalizacyjnej adresowanej do grupy młodych kobiet.
    The article presents connections of grit and its two factors – perseverance of effort and consistency of interests, with a propensity to follow the rules and recommendations established by the government during the Covid-19 pandemic. The presented results are based on data collected during the study carried out in a group of 275 secondary school students from the Podlaskie voivodeship. Research tools included an original questionnaire for measuring the functioning of youth during the Covid-19 pandemic and a Polish adaptation of A. Lee Duckworth’s Short Grit Scale (SGS) by P. Wyszyńska (Wyszyńska et al. 2017). The obtained results indicate correlations of grit and, in particular, perseverance of effort with the propensity to comply with epidemic recommendations in the group of female respondents. No statistically significant correlations were found in the group of male respondents. This suggests that the grit factor may be among the important personal resources contributing to prosocial behavior, which should be capitalized in the course of taking preventive measures and resocialization practice addressed to the group of young women.

    The article presents the relationship between the grit factor and the mental well-being of young people recruited from high school students in Podlaskie Voivodeship (n = 275). The study was conducted using the Short Grit Scale (SGS) by A.L. Duckworth, the Psychological Well-Being Scales (PWBS) by C. Ryff and the Cantril’s Ladder of Life Scale. The obtained results indicate significant positive relationships of grit with the current assessment of the quality of life and mental well-being in each of the six dimensions measured with C. Ryff’s PWBS tool (autonomy, environmental mastery, personal growth, positive relations with others, purpose in life, and self-acceptance). Since grit is a construct showing positive relationships with well-being and quality of life and a modifiable one – it can be shaped at an early stage of development – it should be considered as an important element when drawing future educational plans.
