- Family has a fundamental influence on education; it is the first place where children are brought up. But formation of attitudes towards marriage and family is also influenced by other social groups, by the environment, the prevailing fashion, the educational styles acepted in the given country and in the local community; and in Poland also, undoubtedly, by the Catholic Church. Since the attitude that is most commonly encountered nowadays is that of consumptionism, of lack of respect for another person and insensitivity to his needs, and lack of knowledge about marital and family life, the need arises of forming Christian models in preparing young people to marital and family life.
