    Opis:
    The paper presents the results of numerical calculations, with the finite element method in the ABAQUS program environment, of the vibratory shot peening process with loose peening elements. The behaviour of shot peening elements was analysed in the kinematic aspect. The impact of the initial deployment of vibratory shot peening elements on their behaviour during processing was investigated, including the displacement, velocity, acceleration and the number of collisions. The way of determining the effectiveness of the processing with the vibratory shot peening was illustrated.

    The paper presents the results of research on the effect of the surface roughness of aluminum alloy on its coefficient of restitution. It describes the current method of finishing the workpiece surface layer after cutting and innovative measuring device which was used in the research. The material used in the research was aluminium alloy EN AW 7075. The paper also presents a relationship between the coefficient of restitution and surface roughness of the milled samples as well as impressions left by bead in function of velocity and a sample surface roughness.

    The paper presents the results of studies on the effectiveness of the shot peening process for thin-walled parts based on the diameter of impressions produced by the impact of shot media. It is also described the current applications of this treatment for the thin-walled parts. The authors described an innovative measuring device which was used in the research. The material used in the studies was non-alloy steel C45. The relationships between beads diameter and thickness of workpieces on diameter of impression were presented.

    Opis:
    The paper presents results of numerical FEM analyses of the process of broaching the groove using the Explicit module of the ABAQUS program. The impact of the blade geometry was presented and of the selected technological parameters of processing when cutting the aluminium EN-AW 6061-T6 alloy on the load of the broach blade during its operation. This article shows influence of value of rake and clearance angle onto deformations of the tool’s cutting edge in the transverse direction. An interaction between broach blade shape and reduced stress in the area of cutting edge was presented. The optimum geometry of the cutting tool was proposed.

    Artykuł prezentuje sposób powstawania wiórów dla wybranych stopów metali nieżelaznych z zastosowaniem specjalnego stanowiska do skrawania ortogonalnego. W pracy przeprowadzono pomiary wizyjne strefy skrawania z wykorzystaniem kamery do obserwacji zjawisk szybkozmiennych, w celu analizy etapów procesu kształtowania się wióra. Dokonano identyfikacji kształtu powstałych wiórów przy skrawaniu ortogonalnym i zmiennej grubości warstwy skrawanej z użyciem cieczy smarujących oraz w warunkach skrawania bez smarowania. Wyniki badań mogą służyć do weryfikacji i walidacji modeli numerycznych skrawania ortogonalnego stopów metali nieżelaznych.
    This article presents the method of chip formation for selected non-ferrous metal alloys using a special device for orthogonal cutting. To analyze the stages of the chip forming process the measurements of cutting zone were carried out using a video camera for recording quick-change phenomena. The shape of chips formed at orthogonal cutting was determined for the variable depth of cut and under fluid lubrication and dry cutting conditions. The results of research can be used to verify and validate numerical models of orthogonal cutting of non-ferrous metal alloys.
