Opis:
About ten substituted cyanopyridine compounds have been synthesized and the purities of these pyridines were examined with their physical constants, analytical and spectroscopic data provided in the literature. They are characteristic infrared stretches and NMR chemical shifts were assigned and they are correlated with Hammett substituent constants using single and multi-linear regression analysis. From the results, the effect of substituents on the spectral data of cyanopyridine has been discussed.

Opis:
A series of some oxazine derivatives has been synthesised by fly-ash:H2SO4 catalyzed solvent-free cyclization of aryl chalcones and urea under microwave irradiation. The yields of the oxazines were more than 85 %. The synthesised oxazines were characterized by their physical constants, analytical and spectroscopic data. The antimicrobial activities of these oxazines have been studied using Bauer-Kirby method.

About ten substituted (E)-1-Benzylidene-2-(diphenylmethylene) hydrazine compounds have been synthesized. They are characterized by their analytical, ultraviolet, infrared and NMR spectral data. From infrared spectra, the CN and N+N vibrational frequencies (cm-1) of the hydrazines have been assigned. From NMR spectra, the chemical shifts (, ppm) of CH proton and C(C6H5)2 carbons of the hydrazines have been assigned. These data are correlated with Hammett substituent constants, F and R parameters using single and multi-linear regression analysis. From the results of statistical analysis, the effect of substituents on the spectral data have been discussed.

About nine (E)-(2,5-dinitrophenyl)-2-(substituted benzylidene)hydrazines have been synthesized by hydroxy apatite catalyzed condensation of 2,4-dinitrophenyl hydrazine and substituted benzaldehydes under microwave irradiation conditions. The obtained yields of these hydrazines are more than 85%. The purities of synthesized hydrazines are examined by the analytical and spectroscopic data reported earlier. The infrared spectral C=N, NH frequencies (v, cm-1) and the NMR spectral chemical shifts of CH, NH protons and carbons are assigned and are correlated with Hammett substituent constants, F and R parameter using single and multi-regression analysis. From the results of statistical analysis the effects of substituent on the group frequencies have been discussed. The antioxidant activities of these synthesized hydrazines were measured using DPPH radical scavenging method. The hydroxy- and methoxy- substituted hydrazines shows significant antioxidant activity.

A series of 2-Amino-4-isopropyl-6-methoxy-N-phenylpyrimidine-5-carboxamide compounds have been synthesized from various substituted dithioacetal and guanidine. About nine substituted (E)-1-(4-methoxyphenyl)-3-phenylprop-2-en-1-ones have been synthesized by solvent-free method. These enones were analyzed by spectral techniques. The characteristic spectral frequencies were correlated through Hammett equation with Hammett substituent constants, F and R parameters using single and multi-regression analysis method. From the statistical analysis results, the quantitative structure activity relationships have been discussed by means of effects of substituents on the spectral frequencies.

Opis:
Single and multi-regression analysis was applied for the corrosion study of transmission of substituent effects on IR carbonyl stretching frequencies and 13C chemical shifts of some substituted oxazepin compounds. The substituent effects were estimated on the basis of results of the statistical analysis. The differences among the obtained regression coefficients were discussed in terms of the relative importance of the field, inductive and resonance effects of substituent.

Series of eleven substituted of (E)-3-(3-methylthiophen-2-yl)-1-phenylprop-2-en-1-ones compounds by cross-aldol condensation reaction of 3-methylthiophene-2-carbaldehyde with various substituted acetaldehyde in the occurrence of Fly-Ash: H3PO4 catalyst. The effect of catalytic activity of this fly-ash:H3PO4 nanocatalyst was studied with the obtained yield of products under solvent-free conditions. A series of substituted styryl 3,5-dichloro-2-hydroxyphenyl ketones [1-(3, 5-dichloro-2-hydroxy)- 3-phenylprop-2-en-1-one] were synthesized using thionyl chloride assisted Crossed Aldol reaction. The yields of chalcones were more than 80%. The synthesized chalcones were characterized by analytical and spectroscopic data. From the spectroscopic data the group frequencies were correlated with Hammett substituent constants, F and R parameters. From the results of statistical analysis the effect of substituents were discussed. The antibacterial activities of these chalcones have been evaluated using Bauer-Kirby method.

A series containing twelve substituted styryl 2-phenothiazenyl ketones have been synthesized. The electrochemical potentials of carbonyl and vinyl groups were measured. These potentials are correlated with Hammett substituent constants, F and R parameters. From the results of statistical analyses, the effects of substituent on the group reduction potentials have been discussed. The insect antifeedant activities of these chalcones have been studied using 4th instar larvae Achoea Janata L with castor leaf discs.

Some 2′,3′,4′-trichlorophenyl chalcones [(E)-1-(2,3,4-trichlorophenyl)-3-(substituted phenyl)-2-propen-1-ones] have been synthesised using sulfated Titania catalyzed solvent-free aldol condensation between 2,3,4-trichloroacetophenone and substituted benzaldehydes. The purities of synthesised chalcones were checked by their analytical, physical and spectroscopic data reported in literature. The insect antifeedant activities of these chalcones have been studied using 4th instar larvae Achoea Janata L by castor leaf disc bio-assay method. The chloro substituted chalcones shows significant insect antifeedant activity.
