Opis:
This study aims to determine what is the influence of the density of mangroves on the rate of coastal sediment transport and abrasion that occurred in the Sikakap Coastal area of Mentawai Island district. The research method used is the quadratic transect method and the sediment trap method. The type of mangrove vegetation that dominates in the Sikakap Coastal area of Mentawai Island district is Avicennia marina. Tree level mangrove density at Station I is 1,450 stands / ha and categorized as good, while the tree level mangrove density at Station II is 900 stands / ha and categorized as heavily damaged mangrove forests. The relationship between mangrove density and transport sediment rate in Sikakap Coastal, Mentawai Island district shows a negative correlation with the value -1, meaning that when mangrove density is high, the transport sediment rate will be low, and vice versa, when mangrove density is low, the transport sediment rate will be high.

Climate change poses special challenges for decision makers in Indonesia related to inherent uncertainties in future climate projections and the intricate relations between climate change, physical and biological systems, and food security. At present, however, coastal and marine subregions do not have the adaptive capacity needed to overcome this challenge. This paper examines the impact of climate change on food security in coastal and marine Indonesia. It aims to inform decision makers with up-to-date information about vulnerability to climate change, and to facilitate the development of adaptation strategies informed by the experience and knowledge of experts. Climate and extreme weather hazards associated with the coastal and marine sectors cover different factors but are related to sea level rise, rising coastal water temperatures, and tropical storms and hurricanes. Potential vulnerabilities for coastal zones include increased coastal erosion which causes changes in coastline, loss of coastal wetlands, and changes in fish profiles and other marine life populations. Adapting to climate change will ultimately require more systematic integration of governance strategies, science, regulatory systems, policy, and economics at an international level to deal effectively with the wide range of impacts projected for Indonesia. This integration will be shaped through formal mechanisms such as the development or modification of laws, regulations, and policies.

Fisheries are one of the agricultural sub-sectors that have abundant natural resources and high production value, but that does not make small fishermen prosper. This study aims to determine the level of welfare of capture fishermen households in Pangandaran Sub-district of Pangandaran Regency and the factors that influence it. This study used descriptive basic methods. The research location is in Pangandaran Sub-district of Pangandaran Regency. Sampling takes the accidental sampling method. The data used are primary and secondary data with interview techniques and observations. For the analysis using the Fisher Exchange Rate formula and multiple linear regression analysis. The results showed that the average Term of trade of fishermen in Pangandaran Sub-district was 0.96 or below one (<1). This means that fishermen have not been able to meet household needs and it can be said that fishermen's households are less prosperous. The factors that influence it are the outflow of work time (X2) with the regression coefficient of 0.017 and income (X3) with a regression coefficient of 0.045.

This research aims at analyzing the optimum of low temperatures (12 ºC, 16 ºC, 20 ºC and temperature control (24 ºC)) used at the beginning of transport on the survival rates of goldfish juvenile (Carassius auratus L.), with the size of about 3 cm. Each time 20 goldfish is placed in 2 litres of water in transportation with closed systems for 8, 10 and 12 hours where the goldfish is transported at 21:00 pm. This research used an experimental method, Factorial Randomized Group Design, which consists of two factors that is, a four-level temperature factor and a three-level time factor and repeated three times. The parameters observed were the survival rate, water quality, duration of the process anesthesia, duration of the process recovery after transportation and pisciculture after transportation. The results showed the low temperature and time of transportation had a significant effect on the survival rate of goldfish (Carassius auratus L.) in transportation with closed systems. The optimum temperature and duration of time for transportation of goldfish (Carassius auratus L.) were: temperature of 16 °C and 12 hours of transportation time, with 98.33% survival obtained. This species of fish comes from the regions of Japan, South Korea, South-East China, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, and Philippines. Currently, this fish is found worldwide as a breeding copy.

This study aims to determine the characteristics of edible film from seaweed flour (Eucheuma cottonii) with different types of plasticizer and to know the best type of plasticizer between sorbitol and glycerol in the manufacture of edible films. This research was conducted at the laboratory of Fisheries Products Processing, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, Padjadjaran University, Jatinangor, starting from 11 February 2019 – 28 February 2019. Edible films were tested namely edible film in four treatments and three replications with the addition of glycerol plasticizer 0.5%, glycerol 1.2%, and sorbitol plasticizer 0.5%. The characteristics of edible films observed were thickness, tensile strength, elongation, and transparency. The best edible film results are in the treatment of the addition of plasticizer 0.5% glycerol which is seen from the thickness parameter values of 0.029 mm, tensile strength of 7.51 MPa, percent elongation (elongation) 18.3%, and transparency value of edible film 64.02%. However, amongst the average values fulfilling the JIS (Japanese Industrial Standard) there are tensile strength and percent elongation (elongation) only.

Opis:
Prediction about fishing season is needed for fishing operation, so it can help fisherman to catch a big number of fish with effective and efficient. This study was started on May – June 2018. This study aimed to analize fishing season pattern of big eye tuna in Indian Ocean. Historical data about fish production and fishing effort of long line vessel for 5 years (2013-2017) collected from Indonesia Tuna Longline Asociation (ATLI) in Benoa Port, was used to calculate monthly CPUEs which were then analyzed using average percentage methods to obtain fishing season index for each month and sea surface temperature (SST) data collected from satellite. The result shows that big eye tuna can be caught along the year, but there was a pattern that fishing season occurs from June – September, December, and April with the peak season in east season. Optimum distribution of sea surface temperature base on big eye tuna’s fishing ground ranged from 27-27.5 °C.
