Opis:
This paper deals with the impedance source (Z-source) multiphase inverter, where the maximum constant boost control method is studied and analyzed in the general case of number of phases. On the other side the impact of the modulation index and the number of phases on the duty cycle shoot-through and on the gain of the output voltage ranges is presented. To validate advantages of the Z-source multiphase inverter, the proposed topology and the maximum constant boost control are implemented in simulation and in real time experimentation with Z-source five phase inverter. The output voltage is applied to two parallel loads, a five phase resistive load and a five phase induction machine.

Opis:
Power delivery infrastructures are overstrained and suffer from overaged conditions, not only in the developed, but also in the more industrialized countries. The aim of the smart grid is to provide a more reliable and efficient electric power grid. Condition assessment is an essential and effective part of the reliability for electric grid components; also, it reflects the physical state of the electricity asset in a generation, transmission, distribution, and consumers sides. In this paper, condition assessment of electric grid assets will be discussed and illustrated within the context of smart grid principle. In addition, the proposed condition assessment architecture and the objective of condition assessment for smart grid equipment will be explored and analyzed. Moreover, the potential benefits of such smart system as compared to the traditional power system will be presented. This paper aims to add significant contribution to a smart grid theory.

Opis:
The paper focuses on the development of a novel DSP based high performance speed sensorless control scheme for PWM voltage source inverter fed induction motor drives. Firstly, two generic torque and flux control methods the Field Oriented Control (FOC) and Direct Torque Control (DTC), are briefly described. For implementation the sensorless scheme DTC with Space Vector Modulation (DTCSVM) has been selected because it eliminates the disadvantages associated with the DTC while keeping the advantages of both FOC and DTC. Secondly, the simple flux vector observer allowing speed sensor elimination is given. The novelty of the presented system lays in combining the DTC-SVM structure with a simple observer for both torque/flux and speed sensorless control. Furthermore, the DTC-SVM structure which operates in speed sensorless and torque control mode is presented. Finally, the description of a 50 kW laboratory drive and experimental results illustrating properties of the system are given.

Opis:
In this paper, the application of the proposed control strategy PWM three intervals with 3×5 matrix converter is presented and analyzed. This control strategy is developed for the control of the multi-phases matrix converter, where the main aim is to ensure the waveform quality of the output voltages and the input currents based on the THD evaluation. Simulation results and real time implementation on dSpace 1103 of 3×5 matrix converter under R-L load are presented for the validation of the proposed control strategy and to clarify the main related advantages.
