Opis:
The authors present the results of research carried out in the 2017/2018 academic year among foreign languages teachers at eight higher education institutions. The aim of the study was to find out the connection between the participation activity rate of foreign languages teachers in specially focused network pedagogical communities and the level of professional self-realization through their self-efficacy. We used methods of mathematical statistics, computer data processing and discursive reflextion for drawing logical conclusions from experimental data. 267 foreign languages teachers from Ukrainian universities participated in the first stage of research. During the second stage, 108 selected foreign languages teachers completed a questionnaire for collecting data and evaluating the level of their self-efficacy. Results indicate a significant difference in the professional self-realization levels among the members and non-members of specially focused network communities and confirm the suggested hypothesis.

The authors present the results of research carried out in 2017/2018 academic year and compare them with the results obtained in 1999/2000 academic year. The aim of the study was to find out the changes in students’ motivation for learning English as a second language in general and changes in hierarchy of motives which have a strong positive effect on learning English as a second language from diachronic point of view. The methods of mathematical statistics and computer data processing as well as discursive reflection for making conclusions were used in the research. 97 Law, Economics and Agro-ecology students of National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine completed a questionnaire for collecting data and evaluating motives. The results of the research have shed light on motives and motivation of present-day Law, Economics and Agro- -ecology students who learn English as a second language at higher educational institution.

The main objective of this study is to clarify strategic directions aimed at adapting the system of general secondary education to new conditions of teaching and learning and minimising educational losses both in times of war and in the post-war period in Ukraine, on the one hand, and presenting and communicating our specific study to an international audience through describing main activities within each strategic direction identified, on the other hand. The authors employed a netnographic approach for collecting information posted on the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine’s official website on the topic of providing quality education to school-age children in war in Ukraine between February 24 and June 30, 2022. The data concerning providing quality education to school-age children in times of war in Ukraine were collected for more than four months, from February 24, 2022 to June 30, 2022. The authors selected 294 news posts that met the selection criteria for further analysis out of 824 news posts available on the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine website during the chosen period. Their analysis and summarisation enabled us to clarify eight main strategic directions, namely, official statements by the Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine, External Independent Assessment, support of the international community for providing educational opportunities to school-age children outside Ukraine, organising education in times of war, work with teachers in times of war, providing technical support to organising education, out-ofschool education, physical and sports education.

Opis:
The paper aims to present theoretical and empirical research on investigating the optimization of university department management by preventing job burnout in university teaching staffwhich resulted in increasing their self-efficacy. The research sample was selected with the use of a non-random sampling technique. All foreign languages teachers invited agreed to take part in the study. To collect the empirical data from 205 foreign languages teachers a mixed methods approach was applied. The quantitative data were collected using the questionnaire on general self-efficacy created by R. Schwarzer and M. Jerusalem (1995) and the Maslach Burnout Inventory (1996). The qualitative methods included observations and interviews. The obtained data were then analysed by means of Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS software). The authors theoretically substantiated and practically demonstrated the efficiency of the proposed programme aimed at optimizing university department management by preventing job burnout in foreign language teachers.
