Background This study aimed to examine the prevalence of burnout, determine burnout-related factors, investigate resilience levels, and assess the relationship between burnout and resilience among physical therapy (PT) students at King Saud University (KSU) in Saudi Arabia. Material and Methods This cross-sectional study involved 153 PT students studying at KSU between January and March 2023. The participants completed an online questionnaire, a Maslach Burnout Inventory, and a Brief Resilience Scale. Results Low-to-moderate levels of Emotional Exhaustion (EE) were observed in 85% of the participants and high Depersonalization (DP) levels were reported by 34.2%. Female participants reported higher levels of EE and DP, whereas males had a greater prevalence of low Personal Achievement (PA) levels. Approximately 6.5% of the study participants reported high burnout levels (a combination of high DP, high EE, and low PA). Academic stress, followed by sleeping difficulties and changes in the academic year structure, were the most important factors contributing to higher levels of burnout (75.2%, 56.9%, and 43.8%, respectively). Most study participants around (66.0%) reported normal resilience levels. A significant correlation was detected between resilience and 2 domains of burnout (DP and PA), with the correlation being negative and weak for DP and positive and moderate for PA. Conclusions Overall, low-to-moderate levels of burnout were observed among the PT students who took part. Related factors that contributed to burnout were academic stress, sleeping difficulties, and academic year structure. A normal level of resilience was found to be significantly related to DP and PA but not to EE on the burnout subscales. Higher levels of resilience can be considered to play a protective role against burnout among PT students.

Aim/purpose – This study evaluates the influence of opportunity-enhancing human resource practices on radical innovation and examines the mediating role of exploration capability in this relationship. Design/methodology/approach – Hypotheses were formulated to determine the relationship between opportunity-enhancing human resource practices and radical innovation, as well as the mediating role that exploration capability plays in this relationship. These were tested in 168 Colombian companies from the telecommunications and chemical-pharmaceutical sectors using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) via the Partial Least Squares (PLS) technique. Findings – The study indicates that opportunity-enhancing human resource practices positively and significantly influence radical innovation. In addition, this relationship is mediated by exploration capability. Research implications/limitations – Organizations should implement opportunity-enhancing human resource practices to support radical innovation development. These practices provide employees with opportunities to explore relevant knowledge and technologies necessary for radical innovation. Originality/value/contribution – Identifying and testing a specific group of human resource practices that facilitate radical innovation is one of the most significant gaps in the scientific literature on the relationship between human resource practices and innovation. According to this article, opportunity-enhancing human resource practices facilitate radical innovation in organizations. Furthermore, previous research has not examined the relationship between opportunity-enhancing human resource practices, exploration capability, and radical innovation.

In this work, we present a posteriori error estimates for the Euler-Bernoulli beam theory with inexact flexural stiffness representation. This is an important subject in practice because beams with non-uniform flexural stiffness are frequently modeled using a mesh of elements with constant stiffness. The error estimates obtained in this work are validated by means of two numerical examples. The estimates presented here can be employed for adaptive mesh refinement.

Zinc oxide (ZnO) has been applied for many years in the production of pigs to reduce the number of diarrhoea in weaned piglets. In June 2022, the European Union banned the use of zinc oxide (ZnO) in pig feed. According to scientific reports, the may reason was the accumulation of this microelement in the environment of pig production. It has been shown that frequent application of ZnO can lead to increased antibiotic resistance in pathogenic swine microflora. The main alternatives to ZnO are probiotics, prebiotics, organic acids, essential oils, and liquid feeding systems. Alternatives to ZnO can be successfully used in pig production to reduce the number of diarrhoea among piglets during the postweaning period. Additional reports indicated that bacteriophage supplementation has a positive effect on the health of pigs. The article provides an overview of current ZnO substitutes that can be used in pig farming.

This study aimed to understand the new management challenges related to the impact of climate change on biodiversity, deterioration of agricultural productivity, food security, and increasing rates of desertification. This constitutes an important indicator for studying Land Degradation Neutrality (SDGs Target 15.3), which is considered a significant target in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals 2030. The present study is concerned with assessing and monitoring land management and land degradation in Wadi El Farigh from 2000 to 2019. Soil quality is a major part of the chain that leads to understanding sustainable land management of natural resources (land, groundwater, and natural vegetation). A geopedological approach produced the studied area’s physiographic and soil map. The study of changes in land degradation level in Wadi El Farigh over 20 years with a period of every five years shows a very high improvement in the study area from the year 2000 up to 2014. From 2015 to 2019, this class was reduced due to the effects of land degradation reflected by the use of saline water for irrigating crops. Using remote sensing and geostatistical analyses within the GIS environment illustrated that the soils were classified as Entisols, representing 79.45 of the total studied area, and Aridisols representing 20.55% of the total studied area.

Nutritional supplements play a role in promoting human protein synthesis, fitness recovery, and mental health protection. Pollen is considered a natural food with excellent nutritional value. The use of bee-gathered pollen as a nutritional supplement is now widespread around the world, and it is appreciated for its healing qualities. However, depending on the floral species and the region of origin, pollen has a wide range of nutritional value. It was found that clover pollen had the highest protein content (31.4 g/100 g DM), while the lowest content was observed in maize pollen (21.3%). Eucalyptus pollen had the highest lipid amount (9.49 g/100 g DM), while clover pollen had the lowest content (7.46 g/100 g). Phytochemical analysis showed that eucalyptus pollen occupied the highest total antioxidant activity (67.02%), followed by clover (58.25%) then maize (52.18%), whereas clover pollen had the highest phenolic content (1165 mg GAE/100 gm), compared with the other pollen varieties (949.4 to 1073 mg-GAE/100 gm). The contents of branched-chain amino acids were 29, 33.3, and 38.4 mg/g for maize, eucalyptus, and clover respectively, representing 17.87, 18.44, and 16.53% of total amino acids. The contents of total essential amino acids (EAAs) were 61.8, 73.0, and 83.5 mg/g for maize, eucalyptus, and clover pollen, respectively. Only eucalyptus pollen ultimately met the minimum requirements of EAAs for adults. In contrast, the other two types of pollen contained at least 3–4 limiting amounts of the essential amino acids leucine, lysine, phenylalanine, and valine. In conclusion, pollen is a good, affordable source of nutrients that can be utilized as beneficial dietary supplements for human health.

Opis:
Soil acidity is one of the factors affecting agricultural productivity worldwide, and it is corrected with materials from carbonates or hydroxides of Ca and Mg of different origins, including products from the cellulose industry such as ash + dregs (AD) and ash + dregs + sludge (ADS). Field experiments in a split plot design were conducted to evaluate the cellulose industry residues on chemical properties associated with soil acidity in three volcanic soils in Chile, cultivated with wheat in the 2019-2020 season. Treatments included a control without amendment, CaCO3 at an adjusted dose to achieve pH 6.0 (dose 1) and AD and ADS at dose 1 and double dose 1 (dose 2). Results indicated that AD and ADS in the three soils increased pH in the first 30 to 120 day after being applied, and achieved the same overall acidity correction effect at dose 1, with values that increased from pH 5.85 of control to 5.99 and 6.10, for dose 1 of AD and ADL respectively, at Santa Rosa location. In Carillanca location, the increase was from 5.52 of control to 6.27 and 6.24 for AD and ADL respectively, and in Remehue location – the soil reaction rose from pH 5.54 of Control to 5.91 and 5.89 for AD and ADL respectively (p<0.05). Using AD at dose 1 in the three soils had less effect on increased exchangeable Ca, but a greater effect on exchangeable Na and K concentrations. Using ADS at dose 1 showed a quantitatively lower effect on exchangeable Ca and higher exchangeable Mg and Na concentrations in soils. Results indicate that AD and ADS are an alternative to CaCO3.

Opis:
Preserving gene resources is important for sustainable agriculture. It is also essential to determine the fruit and vegetable content of flavonoids and phenolics that are beneficial for health. In future breeding studies, local varieties, wild types, and their content of flavonoid and phenolic compounds may gain prominence. This study focused on the properties of the artichoke, a plant which originates from Turkey and Cyprus. A collection of local and wild artichokes composing a Cynara gene pool was submitted to analysis in order to determine the morphological features, as well as the total flavonoid and phenolic content in accordance with the UPOV criteria. The total phenolic content was calculated as 4.97 mg GAE g-1 in Sakızvariety, 6.41 mg GAE g-1 in early Cyprus variety and 5.22 mg GAE g-1 t in Hasanağa. Total flavonoid content was 1.05 mg CE g-1 in Sakız, 3.77 mg CE g-1 in early Cyprus, 1.45 mg CE g-1 in Hasanağa (Bayrampaşa) type, 2.70 mg CE g-1 and 2.10 mg in Cynara cornigera. All local and wild varieties showed 97.89% variation in morphological characters. As a result of the research, morphological features were determined in accordance with the UPOV criteria, and total phenolic and total flavonoid contents were also assayed. The values obtained from the determination of the total phenolic and flavonoid content in the collected local and wild varieties, and relationships between the content of phenolics and flavonoids were examined. Following this study, some varieties were chosen for a future breeding program. Thus, it is thought that an innovation can be brought to research on artichoke by evaluating the above features and their mutual relationships for the purpose of future breeding programs.

Opis:
The experiment was conducted on three cultivars of canola (Brassica napus L.): Exceed, Cyclone and Legend, with the objective of investigating the alleviation of the rhizospheric lead toxicity by exogenous potassium. Seeds were germinated in pots and when plants were twenty-day-old, lead @15.0 and 30.0 mg kg-1 soil was added to pots. Plants were foliar sprayed twice with KCl solution. Plants were arranged in a completely randomized design. Various growth and production parameters were evaluated at physiological maturity. The fresh and dry weight of stems increased by 17.6% and 25.6%, correspondingly, when the plants were treated with KCl as compared to the control, but decreased by 20.4%, and 13.9%, respectively, in plants treated with 15.0 mg kg-1 of lead. These reductions in weight were higher under 30.0 mg kg-1 of lead applications. Roots (fresh and dry weight) of plants under the dual combination of lead and potassium decreased but this reduction was lower than in plants treated with lead only, which confirmed that potassium alleviated the toxic effect of the lead metal. The seeds (number and total yield) also decreased due to lead toxicity. The seeds (number and total yield) of plants under the dual combination of lead and potassium decreased, but this reduction was lower than in plants treated with lead only, which proved that potassium alleviated the toxic effect of lead.

Opis:
This paper presents a new aggregation operator tech‐ nique that uses the ordered weighted average (OWA), heavy aggregation operators, Hamming distance, and moving averages. This approach is called heavy ordered weighted moving average distance (HOWMAD). The main advantage of this operator is that it can use the characteristics of the HOWMA operator to under‐ or over‐ estimate the results according to the expectations and the knowledge of the future scenarios, analyze the his‐ torical data of the moving average, and compare the different alternatives with the ideal results of the dis‐ tance measures. Some of the main families and specific cases using generalized and quasi‐arithmetic means are presented, such as the generalized heavy moving aver‐ age distance and a generalized HOWMAD. This study develops an application of this operator in forecasting the sales growth rate for a commercial company. We find that it is possible to determine whether the company’s objectives can be achieved or must be reevaluated in response to the actual situation and future expectations of the enterprise.
