- Opis:
- The author subjects to criticism the anti-intellectualistic conception of man as animal pragmaticum and he defends the humanity's rationalist heritage that is to a large degree inspired by the proposition that man – created in God's image – shows his similarity to the Creator by reflexive, rational and free actions. The author points to a necessity to refer in the cultural-social space to a transcendental basis of values, to the foundation of moral values, to the order of good and truth, and he warns against the dangers that are brought by a purely pragmatic approach in which the main role is played by legal regulations and actions that have an institutional-administrative character.
