    Opis:
    A fishing rod of the king of the Ruthenians (Gallus Anonymus, Book I, chapt. 7)The purpose of the article is an attempt to solve the following question: why did Gallus Anonymus present the king of the Ruthenians fishing with a fishing rod at the very moment of Boleslaw Chrobry’s attack, which inflicted a catastrophic defeat upon Rus’? In the Chronicle the king of the Ruthenians is presented as an unwarlike and cowardly man, but this in itself does not explain, why the chronicler placed him in a boat, fishing. The matter is not made clear by the medieval adaptations of this anecdote by Wincenty Kadłubek and Jan Długosz. None of them understood the sense Gallus gave to the motif of fishing rod and both changed its meaning. Also the cases of fishing described in the Bible have a different character altogether. But a useful context is given by motif of fishing rod and fishing people in stories certainly unknown to Gallus Anonymus. The article presents a choice of texts where fishing refers to military matters and brings disgrace to the king or hero: Le roman de Perceval ou le conte du Graal by Chrétien de Troyes (the Fisher King), Plutarch’s Life of Antony, Waltharius, the story about Arnulf conquering Rome in the Antapodosis by Liudprand of Cremona. The comparison makes it possible to say that in the medieval literature the fishing rode quite often plays the role of anti-attribute that given to a king or warlike hero becomes a clear sign of the lacked or lost ability to command the army and fight war, or of the betrayal of the honour of a brave soldier. On the other hand, the association with fishing or with using a fishing rod is not disgraceful for people who do not aspire to military functions or actions, as illustrated by the examples of Wanda-Węda in the Chronica Poloniae maioris (Chronicle of Greater Poland), and of Saint Zeno of Verona in De Zenonis vita sermo Coronati Notarii.

    Using chosen examples, the author analyses the meaning of the changes made by Vincent (Wincenty) Kadłubek also known as Master Vincentius, to the tales found in the chronicle of Gallus Anonymus. Nothing much can be said of the literary or oral sources which may have served as a basis for Vincentius’s reworking of these stories. A detailed comparison of the corresponding fragments in both chronicles leads us to an understanding of how Vincent understood Gallus’s text. Vincent reinforced some meanings gleaned from Gallus, and eliminated others. However, even when building an alternate tale of the childhood of Kazimierz Odnowiciel (Casimir I the Restorer), Vincent always respects the structure of Gallus’s account.

    Celem artykułu jest zwrócenie uwagi na pomyłkę kopisty kodeksu Zamoyskich (rkpsu BN BOZ 28) popełnioną przy okazji zapisywania w Roczniku Traski daty dziennej decydującej bitwy stoczonej przez Leszka Czarnego z buntownikami w 1285 r. Dzień św. Stefana papieża i męczennika najprawdopodobniej był elementem jakiejś zapiski obituarnej i mylnie został powiązany z batalią.
    The article draws attention to a mistake made by a copyist of the so-called Zamoyski Codex (MS BN BOZ 28) when recording in the Traska Annals the day’s date of the decisive battle fought by Leszek the Black against the rebels in 1285. The feast day of St Stephen the Pope and Martyr was most likely a part of some obituary record and was mistakenly associated with the battle.

    Liber de passione martiris and Vita maior s. Stanislai. On the Margin of a Book by Wojciech Drelicharz about the Idea of the Unification of the Polish KingdomIdea zjednoczenia królestwa w średniowiecznym dziejopisarstwie polskim (Kraków 2012) by Wojciech Drelicharz is an extremely valuable publication due to an extensive presentation of the titular problem. The author of this article embarked upon a polemic with the book’s detailed findings as regards two problems: Liber de passione martiris, evoked by Gallus Anonymous in his account of a visit paid by Emperor Otto III in Gniezno, and an eschatological interpretation of Vita maior s. Stanislai by Wincenty, a Dominican. Drelicharz recognised Gallus’ story of the Gniezno convention to be a summary of Liber de passione, as demonstrated by the number of concrete data contained in this fragment of the chronicle, striking against the background of the rest of the narration about the age of the first Piasts. Consequently, the author of the article attempted to show that apart from an account of the Gniezno convention Gallus Anonymous also included numerous pieces of information pertaining to Bolesław the Brave, today regarded as historical and impossible to connect with the Passion of St. Wojciech. Furthermore, Drelicharz noticed a certain ambiguity and ineptness in the passage about the Gniezno convention, which he explained by the fact that the chronicler was forced to adapt the message of Liber de passione martiris. P. Żmudzki is of the opinion that the narration by Gallus Anonymous relating to the Gniezno convention is cohesive and serves well the leitmotif of an entire chapter opening Gallus’ story about Bolesław the Brave. The chronicler claimed that Bolesław I was a strong and powerful monarch already from his birth, and that upon arriving in Gniezno the Emperor could only confirm this status and officially title Bolesław king. Gallus created his personal vision of the inauguration of the realm of Boleslaw the Brave, far from the version propounded by contemporary historians, a situation by no means isolated in mediaeval historiography. If upon this occasion he referred to Liber de passione martiris, then the latter’s contents cannot be in any manner abstracted from the chronicle by the Anonymous. Writing about Vita maior s. Stanislai Drelicharz negated the eschatological interpretation of a prediction about the reintegration of the kingdom, maintaining that Wincenty, a Dominican, created a cohesive “political” conception of the unification of Poland. The author of this article demonstrates that there is no contradiction between the eschatological and the “political” interpretation. While writing the prophetic fragments of Vita maior s. Stanislai Wincenty used the New Testament, in which the Second Coming and Judgment Day are the sole visions of the future. The Dominican envisaged the renascent kingdom of the Poles to be simultaneously the Kingdom of God. Drelicharz did not take into consideration the eschatological context of “royal priesthood”, a notion of key importance for understanding the conception proposed by Wincenty.

    Tematem artykułu są stosunki polsko-niemieckie w okresie pierwszych trzech wieków rozwijającej się polskiej państwowości. Autor, opisując te relacje, przytacza na wstępie zapis z XIV-wiecznej „Kroniki wielkopolskiej”, w której jakoby Niemcy, sąsiadując ze Słowianami, pozostają z nimi w przyjacielskich stosunkach. Ta opinia już wtedy była nieadekwatna – po krzyżackich rejzach na Polskę w latach 30. XIV wieku między Polakami a Niemcami nie było przyjaznej aury. Co ciekawe, ideę życzliwej zależności Polski od Cesarstwa zawiera także inna wcześniejsza polska kronika Galla Anonima, gdzie obok opisu najazdu króla Henryka V i wojny z Bolesławem Krzywoustym, kronikarz wymienił też zalety podporządkowania się Cesarstwu. Dopiero w kolejnym źródle, kronice Wincentego Kadłubka, ukończonej ok. 1205 roku Cesarstwo jest już niemieckie, a sama „niemieckość” ma już w tym dziele wyłącznie konotacje negatywne.

    For the determination of fluconazole (FLU) oxidation stability under permanganate treatment at the acidic pH, a sensitive, reproducible, and stability-indicating ultra-performance liquid chromatography–mass spectrometry (UPLC/MS) method was developed. Three additional products (tR = 5.79, 6.98, 7.54) were observed besides the FLU (tR = 6.22). The proposed method was used to study the kinetics of FLU oxidative degradation. An oxidation process followed kinetics of the second-order reaction. The degradation rate constant and the corresponding half-life obtained for the FLU oxidative degradation were 0.5626 h-1 and 16.69 h, respectively. The putative oxidation products were characterized and their fragmentation pathways, on a basis of MS/MS data, were proposed.
