    W artykule opisano rodzaje zbiorników podziemnych stosowane w gospodarstwach rolno-hodowlanych, podstawowe ich schematy statyczne oraz rodzaje obciążeń działających na zbiorniki. W przykładzie obliczeniowym porównano wyniki uzyskane dwiema metodami obliczeniowymi: metodą płyt wydzielonych i metodą elementów skończonych. Obliczenia MES wykonano dla dwóch przypadków: z uwzględnieniem sprężystości podłoża i bez jego uwzględnienia.
    The paper presents types of underground tanks used on farms, their basic static schemes and types of loads acting on tanks. In the calculation example results for two calculation methods, plate method and finite element method, were compared. The calculations were done for variants with and without included springy work of subsoil.

    The paper presents the calculation models used in the analysis of various building structures and soil-structure interaction. The basic schemes, principles and possibilities, which take into consideration the changing in time geometric parameters, material and boundary conditions are described.

    W pracy opisano czynniki wpływające na zmiany cech materiałowych i geometrycznych elementów składowych konstrukcji drewnianych. Przeanalizowany został wpływ zmian sztywności elementów składowych oraz połączeń na wielkości sił wewnętrznych, przemieszczenia oraz wytężenie elementów konstrukcji. Analizy porównawcze przy zastosowaniu różnego rodzaju węzłów przeprowadzono dla dźwigara kratowego oraz dwukondygnacyjnej ramy hali magazynowej.
    The paper aim was to describe the factors affecting changes of material and geometric properties in components of timber structures. The influence of stiffness changes of components and joints on the value of the internal forces, displacements and the bearing capacity of structural elements were analysed. Comparative analysis using different types of joints was performed for the lattice girder and two-storey warehouse frame.

    W artykule wskazano przyczyny powstawania maślanu etylu oraz akroleiny, obniżających jakość destylatu rolniczego, uzyskiwanego w gorzelniach rolniczych. Pokazano na chromatogramie efekt modyfikacji technologii produkcji etanolu prowadzącej do ograniczenia ilości akroleiny. Ponadto przedstawiono charakterystykę najczęściej występujących produktów ubocznych, towarzyszących produkcji etanolu.
    The reasons for formation of ethyl butyrate and acrolein, which deteriorate quality of agricultural distillate obtained in agricultural distilleries were described in the paper. Effect of the ethanol production technology modification leading to the reduction of acrolein amount was presented in chromato-grams. Moreover, characteristics of the most common by-products formed during the ethanol production is presented.

    The construction of a green roof requires drainage which ought to be characterized by adequate hydraulic conductivity and be resistant to changing meteorological conditions during the winter period. A properly functioning drainage system guarantees the reliability of the entire green roof system. The article presents studies on the freeze-thaw durability and hydraulic conductivity of selected aggregates applied for constructing green roof drainage systems. The aggregates were subjected to a cyclic freezing and thawing process in 30 and 70 cycles. The obtained results indicate that the conductivity of aggregates studied using the constant head method decreases along with an increase in the number of freeze-thaw cycles they were subjected to. This means that the indicator of freeze-thaw durability can have an indicative nature in the assessment of the usefulness of selected aggregates for constructing drainage layers. The conducted studies indicate that the deciding parameter when selecting an aggregate ought to be its hydraulic conductivity, determined accounting for the changes taking place in the freeze-thaw cycles. The equations of changes in the conductivity of aggregates indicated by the authors make it possible to assess them for practical purposes.

    Introduction: Rhodiola rosea (RR) and Rhodiola kirilowii (RK) are well known for their influence on central nervous system, however their impact on the development of alcohol tolerance has not yet been proven. Objective: The aim of this study was to determine the ability of RR and RK roots extracts to inhibit the development of alcohol tolerance in vivo, both, peripheral (metabolic) and central ones. Methods: Male Wistar rats were treated with RR and RK extracts (p.o.) and ethanol (i.p.) for ten consecutive days. On the first, third, fifth and eighth days the hypothermic action of ethanol was measured, while on the ninth day the loss of righting reflex was examined. On the tenth day rats were treated with assigned extract and sacrificed 1 h after the ethanol injection. Results: Both extracts inhibited development of tolerance to the hypothermic action of ethanol. The observed effect seems to be specific since none of the extracts affected body temperature in water-treated animals. RK extract also prolonged the hypnotic action of ethanol. RR-treated rats had higher blood-ethanol concentrations, in contrast to RK ones. Conclusions: RR and RK extracts inhibited the development of tolerance to the hypothermic action of ethanol. Prolongation of the hypnotic action of ethanol by RK extract may be associated with influence on the central nervous system, while the RR one also inhibited the development of metabolic tolerance.
