    Opis:
    The subject of the paper is a description of the connectivity of metatextual comments, the aim is to show deviant combinations of expressions at this metatext level, which are a consequence of general rules for the utterance, i.e., currently used sentences. I describe the general properties of metatextual commentaries from which the requirements and limitations of their connectivity arise (§ 2). Based on the analysis of connectivity of metatextual commentaries, I present an index of textual relations realized with them (§ 3). Then I present deviant combinations of metatextual comments with expressions filling the items opened by them. As a result of this procedure, I distinguish three types of linguistic deviations arising at this level of the metatext, i.e., pragmatic, illocutionary and utterance contradiction, and their subtypes (§ 4).
    Przedmiotem artykułu jest opis łączliwości komentarzy metatekstowych, celem jest wskazanie dewiacyjnych połączeń wyrażeń na tym poziomie metatekstu, będących konsekwencją ogólnych reguł realizacji wypowiedzenia, tj. aktualnie użytych zdań. Opisuję ogólne właściwości komentarzy metatekstowych, z których wynikają wymagania i ograniczenia ich łączliwości (§ 2), na podstawie analizy łączliwości komentarzy metatekstowych wskazuję katalog realizowanych za ich pomocą relacji tekstowych (§ 3) oraz prezentuję dewiacyjne kombinacje komentarzy metatekstowych z wyrażeniami wypełniającymi otwierane przez nie pozycje. W efekcie zastosowanej procedury wyróżniam trzy typy dewiacji językowych powstających na tym poziomie metatekstu, tj. sprzeczność pragmatyczną, illokucyjną i wypowiedzeniową oraz ich podtypy (§ 4).

    Opis:
    The aim of this article is to present the general characteristics of selected syntactic structures (which used to be assigned to the syntax level of language in earlier works) as structures representing the realization of a sentence (parole). I introduce the term macrosyntax, then I distinguish the utterance-level of language from the clause-level and I describe some structures which, as we observe in language, from the semantic point of view are closely related to the level of utterance, cf. apposition, equivalent clauses, a relative clause.
    Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie ogólnej charakterystyki wybranych struktur syntaktycznych (tradycyjnie przyporządkowywanych do składniowego poziomu języka) jako struktur reprezentujących realizację zdania (parole). Wprowadzam termin makroskładnia, następnie odróżniam poziom wypowiedzenia i poziom zdania oraz opisuję pewne struktury, które – zgodnie z tym, co obserwujemy w języku – z semantycznego punktu widzenia są ściśle powiązane z poziomem wypowiedzenia, por. apozycja, człony równorzędne, zdanie względne.

    The main aim of the article is to establish the status of expression dla odmiany in Polish; attention focuses both on the conceptual level of language analyzed in the syntactic-semantic perspective and also on the metatextual level described in functional terms. The expressions like dla zdrowia, dla zabawy and also dla przykładu, dla przypomnienia serve as a background for this analysis. The obtained results demonstrate that the uses of dla odmiany represent: 1) syntactical construction, which realizes two patterns: a) zrobić coś [dla _ {np. odmiany (od czegoś)}], b) [(zrobić coś1)] dla _ {np. odmiany} (zrobić coś2) and 2) metatextual language unit dla odmiany.
    Celem artykułu jest określenie statusu wyrażenia dla odmiany w języku polskim, zarówno na poziomie przedmiotowym języka (analizowanym w perspektywie semantyczno-składniowej), jak i na poziomie metatekstu (opisywanym w terminach funkcjonalnych). Tłem dla przeprowadzanych analiz są wyrażenia typu dla zdrowia, dla zabawy oraz dla przykładu, dla przypomnienia. Uzyskane wyniki potwierdzają, że użycia dla odmiany reprezentują: 1) połączenie syntaktyczne, stanowiące realizację dwóch schematów: a) zrobić coś [dla _ {np. odmiany (od czegoś)}], b) [(zrobić coś1)] dla _ {np. odmiany} (zrobić coś2) i 2) metatekstową jednostkę języka dla odmiany.

    The article includes an overview of syntactic and semantic features of expressions jednocześnie, równocześnie and zarazem. The analysis is divided into two main parts. In the first one the author discusses the relationship between temporal adverbs and meta-textual units of language. She shows that the meta-textual expressions in question are semantically close to adverbial units – their function is not pointing to the coexistence of events but to organize a sentence and connect two functionally equal units. The second part focuses on the function of the lexical units in question within deviant sentences. The article also brings forth some remarks on the semantic consequences and effects of using the unit jednocześnie in the negation test.

    In the first part of the article, I describe semantic features of Polish particles faktycznie and rzeczywiście. Next, I analyze three classes of factive epistemic particles: 1) assertive faktycznie, rzeczywiście, 2) excluding naprawdę, autentycznie, 3 polemical tak naprawdę, w rzeczywistości, as well as, their possible uses in the context of knowledge, namely, their topicalization, focalization and eliminatory contrasting. In the final part of the article, I make the hypothesis that these operations are lexicalized as units in the language system, i.e. naprawdę (cf. focalization), w rzeczywistości (cf. eliminatory contrasting).

    This paper discusses the question of correlations between the terms ‘parenthesis’ and ‘metatext’. To this end, it presents the most signifi cant (syntactic and functional) concepts of parenthesis and issues related to the metatextuality of parenthetical structures. Apart from overview sections, the paper puts forward the author’s own proposition for distinguishing the scope of the term ‘parenthesis’ from that of ‘metatext’ (‘parentheticality’ vs ‘metatextuality’, respectively). It assumes that the essence of parenthesis, unlike metatextuality, is not to comment on the expressions used currently; instead, it is an effect of the speaker’s actions performed on the present statement (cf. the opposition: language tools and actions using such tools). The paper presents also organisation of language expressions (both individual units and entire classes) by their capability to occur in parenthesis (cf. inherently parenthetical elements of the system vs parenthetical usages of language expressions) and fulfi l metatextual functions. It also takes up the question of the infl uence of parenthetical structures on changes in language: with reference to the development of metatextual expressions and their classes as a result of lexicalisation and grammaticalisation processes.

    The aim of this paper is to point to word order as a property differentiating linguistic entities in the class of metacommentaries. This property was not recognised in earlier analyses of quasi-participial structures with adverbs. As a result of the analyses, two arrangements have been distinguished, i.e. [Adv] mówiąc ([Adv] speaking) and mówiąc [Adv] (speaking [Adv]), which – along with linear and prosodic features – differ in terms of the following properties: a) syntactic and semantic, i.e. the set and form of adverbs, acceptable adverbial transformations, coexistence with negation; b) functional, i.e. the resultant of a quasi-participial operation vs. metatextual unit of the system, possibility to elide an adverb.
