- In District Museum, Rzeszów in 1951 has been established the conservation department whose activities not only include the care over collections of the Rzeszów Museum, but also over the objects in regional museums under its guidance. It deserves to be indicated here that the scope of work of such a department is characterized by a very wide range of problems and conservation activities involved. This will become still more obvious if one takes into account the variety of materials from which are executed the objects forming the museum property as, for instance, the canivas paintings, sculptures, the pieces belonging to the category of decorative art and in addition those representing typical samples of ethnographic or archaelogical lines. Apart from their normal jobs the conservators are responsible for methods applied at securing the objects and besides are acting as advisers.
