Opis:: This article analyzes the of vocational activation programs and their impact on the level of unemployment in Poland. The aim of the considerations is to explore the effec-tiveness of measures taken under the active labor market policies in terms of prevention of unemployment, as well as the presentation of the chosen forms of professional activa¬tion. In the first part of the article presents the status and structure of unemployment in Poland in the years 2003-2012. The second part of the study is empirical and an study of the significance of the various forms of active labor market policies on the level of the efficiency index of employment.

Opis:: W artykule poruszono problem aktywizacji osób młodych na polskim rynku pracy. Na wstępie przeprowadzono analizę udziału omawianej grupy w ogólnej liczbie bezrobotnych. Następnie zaprezentowano założenia koncepcji work – life balance oraz jej poszczególne elementy. W toku rozważań dokonano analizy wpływu omawianej idei na poziom aktywności i możliwości rozwoju osób do 25. roku życia na rynku pracy. Celem podjętych rozważań jest dokonanie analizy i oceny sytuacji osób młodych na tle bezrobocia w Polsce. Ponadto opracowanie to ma na celu ustalenie kierunków działań zmierzających do aktywizacji osób młodych na rynku zatrudnienia oraz ułatwienie im wejścia na rynek pracy poprzez wykorzystanie koncepcji work – life balance.

Opis:: Purpose: This paper aims to assess the sustainability of energy generation systems in various European Union countries. It seeks to understand the diverse challenges and opportunities these countries face in transitioning to sustainable energy. Methodology: The study employs a multi-criteria decision analysis (MCDA) approach, considering economic, environmental, and social aspects. Data from various databases, including Eurostat, the International Energy Agency, and the World Bank, were analyzed. Results: The results reveal significant variations in sustainability performance across different countries and regions. With strong policy support and high public awareness, Scandinavian countries generally performed well across all sustainability indicators. In contrast, Eastern European countries faced more challenges due to their heavy reliance on fossil fuels. Theoretical Contribution: This study contributes to the ongoing discourse on sustainable energy by providing a comprehensive assessment of the sustainability of energy generation systems. It underscores the complex and multifaceted nature of sustainability and the various factors that influence it. Practical Implications: The findings provide valuable insights for policymakers and energy providers. They highlight the importance of policy support, public awareness, and acceptance in promoting sustainable energy. They also underscore the need for continued efforts and interventions to address the challenges faced by countries heavily reliant on fossil fuels.

Opis:: For many years, the amount of waste generated on a global scale has shown an increasing tendency and their management and logistic is becoming a growing problem for most countries in the world. Waste management is an important issue to be addressed, as it concerns the three basic pillars of sustainable development: social, economic, and environmental. Therefore, it seems necessary to take initiatives to reduce the amount of waste generated and improve the waste management system. The article aims to analyse changes in the way of waste management and logistics in the European Union countries and the classification of these countries on the basis of the achieved effects in waste management. The article analyses three selected factors that reflect the effects of achieving environmental objectives in waste management. The cluster analysis method was used for the analysis. It found that EU countries differ in the quality of the results achieved in waste management, depending on the achievement of environmental management and sustainability objectives. In addition, the results of the analysis showed that the time factor has a significant impact on the classification of countries. High dynamics of the quality of effects in waste management were observed in the period under review.

Opis:: The purpose of this study is to outline the current problems with the company's documentation workflow process and propose a plan to implement a new automated system to eliminate waste and improve the company's cash flow. Every enterprise is required to accurately record business operations. Accounting is the foundation of an organization, serving not only to meet legal requirements, but also to support management processes. In the case of large enterprises, complex accounting carries the risk of problems with timely and correct accounting, which can lead to delays in payments, reminders, collection procedures and interruptions in deliveries. As a result, it becomes crucial to put processes in place to safeguard liquidity. The study includes an analysis of the company's current documentation workflow process and identification of problems associated with it. A plan is then proposed to implement a new automated system to eliminate waste. The methodology is based on an analysis of the company's internal data and available technological solutions. The main results of the study include the identification of existing problems in the documentation workflow process and a plan for implementing a new system. The findings indicate that improving process efficiency can help increase the company's cash flow. The study introduces a new perspective on records management in enterprises, especially in the context of eliminating waste and improving liquidity. The theoretical value of the work lies in identifying opportunities for effective records management in the context of supporting business processes. The introduction of an automated documentation workflow system can bring practical benefits, such as reducing payment delays, avoiding debt collection procedures and improving the overall efficiency of business operations.

Opis:: Purpose: The main purpose of the paper is to apply the TOPSIS method for selecting the optimal contractor for a passenger transfer center. Methodology: The methodology is based on the use of TOPSIS, which determines the distance of decision alternatives from the ideal and anti-ideal solutions using evaluation criteria. Results: Two different contractor rankings were obtained depending on the weights of the criteria. With equal weights, the best contractor is number 5, while with weights determined by formula (8), the best is number 4. Theoretical Contribution: The paper contributes to the field of investment project management by demonstrating how the TOPSIS method can aid in decision-making for optimal contractor selection, thereby reducing the risk of erroneous decisions. Practical Implications: The practical implications of this research are significant for investment projects, as the demonstrated methodology can be directly applied to the contractor selection process, potentially leading to more successful project outcomes.

Opis:: A crucial part of every adaptation planning and disaster risk reduction is estimation of vulnerable areas and risk in the future. Only a well-developed monitoring system could bring valuable information to create possible scenarios to set up adaptation plans. Monitoring systems of meteorological conditions, surface water, groundwater, landslides, seacoast, agricultural drought as well as their standards and methodologies, are crucial for establishing an effective warning system of every country, and thus are the subject of research conducted by national institutes. Therefore, the conditions of this national research (getting trained staff, equipment etc.) is essential to provide reliable information for a national adaptation plan and for economic assessment of climate change impacts. Poland has significant experiences in monitoring systems, data collecting and visualizing, as well as in the development of scenarios and risk maps. Methodologies and capacity building, necessary for their use, along with experiences and lessons, learned to get valuable information for disaster risk reduction, were presented by the authors from the research during the 24th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP 24) in Katowice (December 2018). The presentation contributed to the global adaptation process through experience sharing that is important for the relevant research conducted in the least developed countries.
