This article analyzes the specifi c verbalization of the concept CLERIC in Ukrainian paremias recorded in collections issued at different times. It focuses on the means of creating the ironic image of priests of different religious affiliations, a general trend of negative connotations of clergymen.

The paper is an attempt to present the ways of verbalization of emotions in Russian critical texts. In Modern English the gerund, historically a nominalized verb in –ung(e), is marked by a gradient of increasing verbalization, from full noun (the reading of the book) to nearly full verbalization (... John having read his essay very carefully), which is due to morphological syncretism in Early Middle English with the present participle in –ind(e). It is demonstrated that this (re)verbalization can be traced diachronically from its incipient phase to Modern English. It also allows us to fine-tune our terminology as to the most recent stage in terms of verbalized or verbal gerund, which at first sight seems to be a contradictio in terminis. In light of the data it is argued that –ing forms after verbs of perception (We saw him working in the garden) can also be interpreted as (semi-)gerunds, featuring at the extreme right of the gradient; ‘‘semi-”, because such structures lack one nominal property, viz. the genitival subject (...*his working in the garden). The historical history and development of the gerund in English can be described as a triadic process: VERB – NOUN – VERB.

The aim of this article is to signal the possible relationships between the simultaneous interpreter and the image in its widest sense. In this communicative situation, attention is first paid to the text of the oral presentation, the meaning of which is conveyed by the interpreter. However, this meaning is also made up of visual elements that the interpreter faces and which make the interpretation inter-semiotic and multimodal. Three different types of simultaneous interpreter/image relationships will be outlined: firstly, the whole interpreting communicative situation can become an image if remote interpretation is necessary, secondly, it is the speaker who can be understood as an image, thirdly, the speaker can refer to previously prepared images. Then, by means of a pilot study, it will be checked whether and how experienced simultaneous interpreters relate the speaker to the picture when the picture presented is not redundant with what is being said, but complements the speech. The main question is whether and how it will be verbalized. Possible ways of extending the study will also be discussed.

Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie problemów teoretycznych badania roli oceny w werbalizacji emocji człowieka. W językoznawstwie bardzo niewielka liczba badań poświęcona jest konceptualizacji emocji w aspekcie aksjologicznym. Autorka dowodzi, że w konceptualizacji uczuć najczęściej mają miejsce oceny hedonistyczne oraz moralne. Ocena moralna charakteryzuje działania oraz intencje człowieka, jego stosunek do innych ludzi z punktu widzenia dobra i zła. W werbalizacji emocji wyraża się ona poprzez epitety połączone z nazwami uczuć, a także poprzez reprezentacje językowe uczuć bliskich lub biegunowych. Ocena hedonistyczna charakteryzuje odczuwanie emocji przez podmiot w skali przyjemnie/nieprzyjemnie. W werbalizacji emocji wyraża się ona poprzez opisy metaforyczne, które reprezentują cechy konceptualne oraz obrazy asocjacyjne uczuć.
The aim of the article is to present the theoretical problems of researching the role of assessment in the verbalization of human emotions. In linguistics, a very small number of studies are devoted to the conceptualization of emotions in the axiological aspect. The author proves that hedonistic and moral assessments are most often present in the conceptualization of feelings. Moral assessment characterizes the actions and intentions of a person, and his attitude towards other people from the point of view of good and evil. In the verbalization of emotions, it is expressed with the help of epithets that are combined with the names of feelings, as well as through the linguistic representation of close or polar feelings. Hedonistic assessment characterizes the feeling of the subject of emotion on a scale of «pleasant/unpleasant». In the verbalization of emotions, it is expressed through metaphorical descriptions that represent conceptual signs and associative images of feelings.

We present how the conceptually and numerically simple concept of a fuzzy linguistic database summary can be a very powerful tool for gaining much insight into the essence of data that may be relevant for a business activity. The use of linguistic summaries provides tools for the verbalization of data analysis (mining) results which, in addition to the more commonly used visualization e.g. via a GUI, graphical user interface, can contribute to an increased human consistency and ease of use. The results (knowledge) derived are in a simple, easily comprehensible linguistic form which can be effectively and efficiently employed for supporting decision makers via the data driven decision support system paradigm. Two new relevant aspects of the analysis are also outlined which was first initiated by the authors. First, following Kacprzyk and Zadrożny [1] comments are given on an extremely relevant aspect of scalability of linguistic summarization of data, using their new concept of a conceptual scalability that is crucial for large applications. Second, following Kacprzyk and Zadrożny [2] it is further considered how linguistic data summarization is closely related to some types of solutions used in natural language generation (NLG), which can make it possible to use more and more effective and efficient tools and techniques developed in this another rapidly developing area. An application of a computer retailer is outlined.

W artykule przeanalizowano metodykę badań nad parametrami komunikacji niewerbalnej, werbalizowanymi poprzez jednostki frazeologiczne ukraińskiego, polskiego, rosyjskiego etnosu, które łączą wspólne wschodniosłowiańskie korzenie. Zastosowanie komparatywno-porównawczej metody analizy sprzyja ujawnieniu pragmatycznych mechanizmów tworzenia komunikacyjnych znaczeń frazeologizmów z komponentami niewerbalnymi.
The article deals with the actualization of the study methodology of the nonverbal communication (NC) national parameters, verbalized by means of phraseological units (PhU) in Ukrainian, Polish, Russian ethnoses as these that have common eastern Slavic roots. The use of the comparative contrastive method of analysis facilitated the process of revealing the pragmatic mechanisms of the communicative senses of phraseological units with the non-verbal components.

This interdisciplinary study focuses on the perception and verbalization of messages conveyed through instrumental music, soundscapes, and contemporary paintings. International young-adult university students learning German participated in a series of experiments conducted at Friedrich Schiller University in Jena, Germany. To incorporate globalization and cultural difference into this analysis, the author compared the reactions of Western and Asian participants to auditory and visual stimuli. This paper explores the concepts of mixed media, cross-sensory coupling, and esthetic synesthesia, and throws new light on the contribution of cross-sensory coupling to verbalization and to long-term memory processes, from encoding to retrieval. In addition, the author demonstrates how intercultural communication is based upon universal emotions aroused by contemporary paintings, instrumental music and soundscapes.

The article is devoted to the problems of the linguistic and cultural analysis of Ukrainian folk tales. It has been proved that folk tales transmit elements of social knowledge, verbalize the codes of a national world view and become exclusive material for the philological study of various forms of ethnic and cultural experience. The systematization of theoretical notions that ground the necessity of cognitive and interpretative comprehension of a folklore text, as an initial legal knowledge transmitter, has been provided for the first time. The worked out theoretical foundations of linguistic culturological analysis of verbalized semantic complexes unite legal subjectivity, legal consciousness and legal capacity in the folk epic. It has been stated that the legal subjectivity of lingual signs serves as a basis for the cultural legal informativity of a folklore construct, because it is precisely on the basis of a comprehended personality that we observe the rise of ideas of legal consciousness and capacity, which, in turn, correlate with philosophic legal categories (order, breaking of order, restoration of order). The remit of the investigation stretches as far as the possibility of penetrating into Ukrainian folklore’s legal linguistic conceptual field, reviewing the traditional schemes that describe folk poetic vocabulary, identifying the parameters of the lingual fixation of elements with legal knowledge in different Ukrainian folklore genres.

The aim of the essay is to identify linguistic means that were used to describe emotional states in Jana Hensel’s bestseller book “Zonenkinder”, published in 2002. Quotations from the book are used to filter out and interpret feelings and attitudes. Zonenkinder is still regarded as a manifesto of an East German generation. The theses set out in this non-fiction book have been valid in practice until now, because they have in part a constitutive character for the new East German identity. A collectivism expressed with the collective We is also a move in the transition between the generation of losers and the generation of the new East Germans.

Leksykalno-semantyczne pole konceptu “śmierć” opisano na materiale ukraińskiej literatury pięknej.
The article deals with the fi gurative features of the concept “death”. The common theoretical principles of a national, language and cognitive world picture have been clarifi ed and revised, the new empirical material has been analyzed. The lexical-semantic fi eld of the concept “death” based on Ukrainian literature has been described.

Opis:
Лінгвістика емоцій є новим напрямом у мовознавстві, який стрімко розвивається. У статті проаналізовано мовні засоби розкриття особливостей емоційного світу дитини в художніх текстах, зокрема специфіку переживання емоції страху. Матеріалом цієї розвідки слугували створені в різні часи художні тексти українських письменників, героями яких є діти (твори П. Мирного, М. Коцюбинського, І. Франка, Б. Лепкого, М. Стельмаха, Є. Гуцала, М. Матіос). Цінність художніх текстів полягає в тому, що вони фіксують загалом достовірну інформацію про психоемоційний світ дитини, бо зазвичай дитячі образи ґрунтуються на автобіографічній основі, і опис емоцій є здебільшого фіксацією психічних переживань авторів текстів. Мовна фіксація емоції страху в дитини передається різними способами: шляхом лексичної номінації емоції та дескриптами емоцій: описом невербальної поведінки дитини, описом тілесних реакцій на емоцію.
Emotion linguistics is a new trend in philology which develops rapidly. Language tools of revealing specific aspects of a child’s emotional world in literary tests are analyzed in the paper, in particular the specificity of experiencing a fear emotion. Linguists who study the ways of a language expression of emotions frequently refer to artistic texts. However, the specificity of emotion expression and its verbal denotation depending on the age peculiarities of man is not a sufficiently studied phenomenon. The materials for the research are the literary texts created by the Ukrainian writers at different times, in which children are the main characters (works of P. Myrnyi, M. Kotsiubynskyi, І. Franko, B. Lepkyi, М. Stelmakh, Ye. Hutsalo, М. Matios). The value of the literary texts consists in the fact that they have generally reliable information about a child’s psycho-emotional world since usually children’s images are autobiographical and the emotion description is in most cases the expression of psychical feelings of the authors of the texts. There are several ways to express a child’s fear emotions: a lexical nomination of emotion and emotion descriptors; a description of a non-verbal behavior of a child, a description of a body reaction to emotion.

Na podstawie tego opisano perspektywy badań nad językowym wyrażaniem kategorii czasu i przestrzeni w tekstach współczesnych ukraińskich pisarzy postmodernistów.
The article deals with the specifi c features of postmodern aesthetics that contribute to updating of space and temporal parameters of a literary text as a significant constituent sense. According to that principle it outlined the prospects of linguistic categories of time and space in the texts of contemporary Ukrainian writers of postmodern.

In this paper, we examine the question of the verbalization of fear and its translation from modern Greek into French. The target texts of our analysis are of two types: translations of experienced translators and translations of Cypriot learners. We study data from the analysis of our translation corpus and we question the conceptualisation of the emotion of fear.
Dans cet article, nous nous intéressons à examiner la question de la verbalisation de la peur et de satraduction du grec moderne vers le français. Les textes cibles de notre analyse sont de deux types :les traductions de traducteurs expérimentés et les traductions d’apprenants chypriotes en cours deformation. Nous étudions des données provenant de l’analyse de notre corpus de traduction et nousnous interrogeons sur la conceptualisation de l’émotion de la peur.

The paper analyzes the linguistic means incarnation karitive semantics in Russian and Polish economic discourse. The material o f the study uses data Kazakh Russian-language newspapers and Polish newspapers. Karitive semantics interpreted as the nuclear part o f the category o f lackness. In Russian and Polish speech activity on economics, used identical language units. This is due to a common origin o f language systems, dating back to the pre-Slavic language, and with respect to the interpretation o f the general problems o f the economy in Kazakhstan and Poland.

The article analyzes the language means by which the intensity of emotional processes in Polish, Russian and Ukrainian is reflected on the example of the names of emotions that are part of the “compassion” group. By the intensity of emotions, we mean a quantitative assessment of the quality of the emotional process relative to a certain norm. Verbalizers of the intensity of emotional experiences include lexemes describing the power of the emotions themselves and the impact of the emotions on a person. The characteristics of the power of the manifestation of emotions are objectified most often with the help of adjectives and adverbs. Verbalization of the power of the influence of emotional experiences on a person in Polish, Russian and Ukrainian can occur by objectifying the temperature characteristics of feelings, as well as through association with images of fluid and fire. Besides intensity on the quantitative side, a feeling is also characterized by duration – the time interval between the beginning and the end of an emotion. In terms of duration, the emotions of the “compassion” group in Polish, Russian and Ukrainian are described as sudden and short-lived states.

Artykuł porusza kwestie dotyczące sposobów ujmowania rzeczywistości przez profesjonalnych i nieprofesjonalnych interlokutorów w obszarze zinstytucjonalizowanego dyskursu funkcjonalnego. Przyczynkiem do podjęcia analiz stała się obserwacja dychotomii językowych obrazów świata zawodowych i zwykłych uczestników interakcji. Celem artykułu jest wyodrębnienie i deskrypcja różnic w sposobach postrzegania i opisywania rzeczywistości wśród aktantów dyskursu instytucjonalnego. W wyniku oglądu stosowanych w wypowiedziach jednostek nominatywnych i ciągów werbalnych ustalono, że funkcjonalność komunikacji instytucjonalnej opiera się na transponowaniu pojęć pierwotnych w koncepty wtórne. W procesie transpozycji dochodzi do rekonstrukcji znaczeń i statusów podmiotów i przedmiotów dyskursu. Metodologiczną podstawę podjętych analiz zbudowały założenia pragmatyzmu sprzężone z prakseologicznym paradygmatem sprawnego działania.
The article explores ways of describing reality by professional and non-professional interlocutors within the framework of institutionalized functional discourse. The motivation for analysis was the observation of dichotomies of linguistic representation of the world of professionals and ordinary participants of interaction. The aim of the article was to indicate and characterize the differences in the ways of perceiving and describing reality among participants in institutional discourse. As a result of the analysis of lexical units and verbal sequences used in speech, it has been proven that the functionality of institutional discourse is based on transposing primary concepts into specialized concepts. In the process of transposition, the meanings and statuses of subjects and objects of discourse are reconstructed. The methodological basis for the analysis was the pragmatism and praxeological paradigm of efficient action.
