Opis:
Commercial fishers in Poland demonstrate a unique version of “transition fatigue” (Rovelli, Zaiceva 2009). The situation leading to this phenomenon is related to three changes that occurred during the twentieth century. First, communist rule was marked by an orchestrated process of industrialization and a shift toward state-controlled fisheries after WWII. Second, political and organizational changes during the transition from a socialist to a free market economy in the nineties weakened social support and welfare structures in place during communism (and failed to replace them with something else). Third, accession to the European Union in May of 2004 introduced a new fisheries management strategy to the Polish fishing industry and the communities on the Baltic Sea coast. A regulatory vacuum created during the nineties has had negative effects on contemporary management strategies. EU-wide goals to reduce overcapacity since 2004 have significantly altered the composition of the Polish Baltic Sea fleet, while it is unclear that decommissioning schemes in Poland have had the positive results intended (Kuzebski, Marciniak 2009). A fishing closure and subsequent protests throughout the cod fleet in 2006 and 2007 underlined persistent problems in the management of Atlantic cod (Gadus morhua). In light of a potential shift to transferrable fishing concessions in the cod fleet, policy-makers should account for “transition fatigue” during the implementation process.

Opis:
Purpose: To determine the sleep quality and fatigue levels of mothers in the period of transition additional food. Materials and methods: It was a relation seeking descriptive study which contained 377 mothers who had sixth month babies. The datas of the study was collected in Samsun between June and December 2015 with "Personal Information Form", "Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Questionnaire” and "Piper Fatigue Scale”. The statistical analysis of the data was made with using percentages, means, t test, ANOVA, Kruskal Wallis, Man Whitney U and correlation test. Results: It was found that the average age of mothers was 28.1±5.2 years, 44.8% of them high school graduated, 25.2% of them working outside, 78.8% of them lived in a nuclear family. It was determined 69.6% of the babies passed the additional food before sixth month, and 31.5% of them passed with baby formula. It was appointed that the 65.3% of mothers in period of transition additional food experienced sleep problems and 66.6% of them experienced fatigue. It was found a positive weak and significant correlation between the mothers Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Questionnaire scores and and Piper Fatigue Scale scores (p<0.05). Conclusion: It was seen that in the period of transition additional food, the mothers experience problems about the passing time, first foods and feeding method and this situation causes insomnia and fatigue. According to the results it could be recommended to development of training programs for the improvement of mothers' sleep quality and fatigue levels.

Opis:
Observation of behaviour phenomena of ultrasonic waves in an object allows for quality assessment, identification and location of discontinuity. Physical nature of acoustic processes is based on propagation of mechanical waves constituting a disturbance of equilibrium of the state of material. The acoustic proces identified by selected characteristics can be a source of information about state of material, its structure, and properties, which is particularly important for systems exhibiting anisotropy properties, and such are layered polymer composites. They are special materials because their properties depend greatly on the manufacturing technology. Therefore, while conducting acoustic tests which use the influence of elastic properties and homogeneity of material structure for propagation of sound waves the adopted method of measuring characteristics which identifies propagation of ultrasonic wave phenomenon is of particular importance. The aim of the work was quality evaluation of layered polymer composites made by Winding and press moulding by the method of echo and C-scan, using head Phased Array. Composites have been tested by thermal and fatigue degradation. Quality evaluation has been made based on the transition time of the ultrasonic wave and the bending strength.

Opis:
The research article address, the mechanical properties such as fatigue, impact strength and tribological properties of Austempered ductile iron (ADI) has been investigated. The samples of ADI iron were austenitized at 927°C for 2 hrs and later it was under austempering process for 2 hrs at a temperature range of 240°C to 400°C. Experiments under axial loading has been carried out on three different compositions (without Ni(X), 0.22wt.%Ni(X1), 0.34wt.%Ni(X2). Fabricated test bars were converted in to as per ASTM standard samples for different tests. In order to study the influence of chunky nickel morphology studies on fatigue life and impact strength were carried out on a second set of specimens without any microstructural defect. Metallurgical analyses were performed on all the samples of heat treated samples (AF - Ausferrite, MB - Mixed bainite, M - Martensite, RA - Retained Austenite and N - Nodule) were found and compared. It was found that a mean content of 22% of chunky nickel in the microstructure (with respect to total Ni content) influence considerably the fatigue and impact strength properties of the cast iron. Moreover tribological properties of the specimens were also studied under dry sliding conditions at various sliding speed and load. The wear resistance and coefficient of friction were found to increase with increase in load and sliding speed.

Opis:
The aim of the present paper is to examine both the fatigue behaviour and the phase transition mechanisms of an equiatomic pseudo-elastic NiTi Shape Memory Alloy through cyclic tests (up to 100 loading cycles). More precisely, miniaturised dog-bone specimens are tested by using a customised testing machine and the contents of both austenite and martensite phase are experimentally measured by means of X-Ray diffraction (XRD) analyses. On the basis of such experimental results in terms of martensite content, an analytical model is here formulated to correlate the stress-strain relationship to the phase transition mechanisms. Finally, a validation of the present model by means of experimental data pertaining the stress-strain relationship is performed.
