This paper reports some results of turbulent boundary layer computation. The calculation is made assuming that law of the wall is valid throughout the boundary layer. Simple relations are proposed for friction for a smooth pipe and a flat plate at zero incidence. The results are compared with recent measurements. Encouraging results are obtained for both the cases of flows.

Opis:
Rule of law is a collection of institutions that each society fulfills differently. The rule of law is a wider and more complex phenomenon than the courts and judges themselves. The rule of law cannot be based solely on the heroism of an individual or group of one or another category of persons. The rule of law must be a natural component of the legal order. The concept of the primacy of the role of the Constitution - requires the reliable cooperation of at least three authorities - legislative, executive and judicial authorities. Occasional and opportunistic legislation, not much in common with the rule of law. The law is not what we imagine, but what the responsible legislator has established. "There is no more cruel tyranny than that practiced in the shadow of laws and in the colors of justice." What are the rule of law? Can state power influence courts? Whether parliamentary majority equals omnipotence is the main theme of the proposed presentation. The author's assumption is to indicate the essence of the issue in an interdisciplinary approach, to pay attention to its multidimensionality and social importance, leaving the field to undertake own research.

Opis:
The article points out at the discrepancy between the different Mss. of the Roman Justinianic text: Littera Pisana and Littera Bononiensis. The discrepancy entailed that the doctrine of medieval Ius Commune offered stronger protection of the collective rights of the creditors, in comparison with the Classical Roman law. The Roman Dutch “Elegant School”, despite its general reliance on the original Roman sources, already in the writings of Grotius demonstrated allegiance to the medieval doctrine on the issue of bankruptcy. The authors of the “Elegant School” continued to prefer the medieval interpretation of the creditors’ rights and bankruptcy, although Dutch practice was, in many respects, drastically different from the Ius Commune doctrine. This ensured a strong protection of creditors in bankruptcy in Dutch law.

Opis:
The following article is intended to analyse potential economic benefits in professional competitive sport. Professional sport is not to be perceived only from the perspective of emotions evoked by sportsmen competing in various disciplines. Currently, sport has become a great business that generates noticeable revenues and provides employment to many individuals. Hence, the scientific discipline referred to as the sports law has been receiving more and more interest as it not only tackles upon the legal status of sports federations, sportsmen or clubs but also has to deal with the issues of sports economy, sponsorship agreements in sports, the image of contestants as well as numerous other problems. Therefore it seems justifiable to commence a scientific debate on economic benefits in sport and their forms on the basis of legal regulations regarding sport.

Opis:
The emphasis on the human person and his dignity was significantly applied in the new regulation of the law of consecrated life, which is dealt with in the new Code of Canon Law of 1983 in integrum compared to the previous Code of Canon Law of 1917. This paper describes only some of the changes in the law of religious institutes in the Latin Church. The first section regards mainly the person who has taken religious vows and focuses on the question of religious vows as the basis of religious life. It also discusses confessors viewed as a necessary tool for the renewal of religious life as well as modifications in the concept of poverty as a very important element of religious life. The second section focuses on the government of religious institutes, discussing the strengthened position of internal superiors over external superiors in religious congregations, the strengthened position of the superior of monasteries of nuns, and the extended powers of superiors on release from a religious institute due to illegitimate absence from a religious house. As this is in some cases a very recent legal regulation, the author does not hesitate to express his critical observations.

Opis:
The paper describes the development of criminal law as the originally private law sector and points to changes that ultimately have changed the nature of criminal law so that it is now considered to be a public law sector. Criminal law during the period of the high and late Middle Ages on the territory of Slovakia had the character of a public law sector. Recovery after committing the crime was left to the injured person or his family. The relationship between the injured (or his survivors) and the perpetrator was largely private in nature. The state originally did not interfere or interfere only at a minimum with this relationship. Only in the course of time has this element of a largely private legal relationship been also given a public-law element, only in the age of Modern Times the criminal-law relations had the character of public law. This article describes the changes that have occurred in the course of time in the area of criminal law, the ways of punishment, and the changes which have led to the transformation of criminal law into the public law sector
