Opis:
The difference-frequency acoustic scattering from nonlinear objects such as bubbles was studied for many years and used for bubble diagnostics. In the present paper we consider theoretically two problems. The first one is the difference-frequency scattering from the nonlinear layer in linearly stratified medium. The second problem is the difference frequency scattering from the system of periodic nonlinear layers. In both problems the resonance phenomena are studied and their influence on characteristics of the scattered fields are analyzed. In the third part of the paper we describe experimental method of acoustic difference-frequency vision of large-scale bubbly objects.

Opis:
Research indicates that the gender of a parent has a great impact on how s/he engages in parenting. The ex- pectations towards men and women significantly differ and are strictly connected with dominating models of masculinity and femininity. They are also related to biological differences between men and women that often serve as a convenient explanation for the unequal power order. The article seeks to answer questions on how men in Sweden and Poland experience their parenting, taking into account the naturalised differences between fatherhood and motherhood, and how these differences affect power relations.

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to review the literature on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) and addresses two research questions: What is the mutual relation between CSR and ESG? and Why CSR and ESG matter to businesses? Design/methodology/approach: The paper applies the method of comprehensive literature review. The analysis of keywords, abstract, and on this basis further deeper analysis of scientific texts allowed to identify the mutual relation between CSR and ESG. Findings: The main conclusion from the conducted analysis is that both concepts - CSR and ESG, apart from being complementary, can be combined not only to improve the strategic management of the organization, but also, in a broader context, to serve the good of both the local community and the whole society. CSR aims to make business responsible, while ESG aims to make it measurable. Research limitations: No empirical study has been conducted to support the findings presented in the study. Originality/value: The paper organizes and systematizes the knowledge on two concepts, i.e., CSR and ESG, which now play an important role in the sustainable management of an organization.

This paper deals with asymptotic properties of a vector difference equation with delayed argument Δxk = Axk +Bx(λk], 0 < λ < 1, k = 0,1,2,..., where A, B are constant matrices and the term [λk] is the integer part of λk. Our aim is to emphasize some resemblances between the asymptotic behaviour of this delay difference equation and its continuous counterpart.

Przedmiotem badania jest relacja między wydatkami niekwalifikowanym budżetu pomocy społecznej w ramach ograniczonego budżetu Korei w okresie 1965–2008. W artykule wskazano, że pomoc publiczna i wydatki na usługi społeczne są nie do porównania z wydatkami ubezpieczenia narodowego zgodnie z wielowariantowymi modelami ARIMA Box-Jenkins. Ich obecność poddana współmierności jest fałszywa ze względu na wpływ czynników polityczno-gospodarczych. Rezultaty badania w tym artykule mogą wnieść wkład w rozwój teorii budżetowej i polityk budżetowych. Jednak niektóre rezultaty badań powstałych w oparciu o modele ARIMA mogły być nieadekwatne do poddania interpretacji w ramach istniejących teorii i formułują przypuszczenia takie jak te z dziewięcioletnim opóźnieniem, etc. W związku z tym dalsze badania są konieczne.
This research investigates the relationship between under-expenditure of the social welfare budget within a limited budget and the determinants that have an effect on them. Relationships and determinants between under-expenditure of the social welfare budget have generally received relatively little attention from academics. The aim of this article is to examine the differences in the under-expenditures of the social welfare budget in the Korea between 1965 and 2008. It is shown that public assistance and social service expenditures are not comparable with national insurance expenditure according to the Box-Jenkins’ multi-variant ARIMA models. The appearance of them being commensurate is spurious because it is affected by political economic factors. The research findings in this paper can contribute to the development of budgetary theory and budgetary politics. However some findings within in the ARIMA models were incapable of being interpreted within existing theories and conjecture such as those with a 9 year time lag, etc. Further studies are therefore required.

The main theme of this essay is f i n i t e l i f e, which is the bedrock of modern biopolitics. In the series of lectures devoted to the ‘birth of biopolitics,’ Michel Foucault defines it as a new system of ‘governing the living’ based on the natural cycle of birth and death, and the law of genesis kai phtora, ‘becoming and perishing.’ Foucault’s answer to modern biopolitics is to accept its basic premise – that life is finite, and, consequently, reduced to the natural law of birth and death – and then slightly correct the naive liberal trust in the ‘naturalness’ of human existence by appropriating and internalizing the true essence of the biopolitical paradigm: the disciplining practices. This essay contests Foucault’s minimalist Neostoic program of the ‘care of the self’ by demonstrating that we can still hope for a n o t h e r f i n i t u d e that refrains from any renaturalization of human existence.

In his famous paper "Fuzzy Sets as a Basis for a Theory of Possibility" (Zadeh, 1978) Professor Lofti Zadeh introduced the notion of possibility distribution [pi]x and tlie concept of possibility measure. He denned in the paper the possibility distribution function to be numerically equal to the membership function ([pi]x = [my]F). In this paper Professor Zadeh draws the special attention of the reader to the fact that: "... there is a fundamental difference between probability and possibility". To explain this difference he had given a special example illustrating the difference, which then was cited by many authors of books on Fuzzy Set Theory and gained great importance for understanding the notion of possibility. In the paper the author presents his doubts as to this important example, explains why it is incorrect and gives a correct version of the example based on the notion of possibility distribution of Dubois and Prade.

The European Standard on sleeping bag requirements (EN 13537:2002) describes a procedure to determine environmental temperature limits for safe usage of sleeping bags regarding their thermal insulation. However, there are several possible sources of error related to this procedure. The main aim of this work was to determine the influence of the various measuring parameters on the acuity of the respective parameters in order to judge the requirements. The results indicated that air velocity, mattress insulation and time between unpacking the bag and measurement had a significant impact on the result, with a difference of up to 5–15% in thermal insulation between minimum and maximum allowable parameter levels. On the other hand, manikin weight, thickness of the artificial ground and presence of a face mask were found to have a negligible influence. The article also discusses more general aspects of the standard including the calculation methods used.
