Opis:
Several computing courses allow students to choose which programming language they want to use for completing a programming task. This can lead to cross-language code plagiarism and collusion, in which the copied code file is rewritten in another programming language. In response to that, this paper proposes a detection technique which is able to accurately compare code files written in various programming languages, but with limited effort in accommodating such languages at development stage. The only language-dependent feature used in the technique is source code tokeniser and no code conversion is applied. The impact of coincidental similarity is reduced by applying a TF-IDF inspired weighting, in which rare matches are prioritised. Our evaluation shows that the technique outperforms common techniques in academia for handling language conversion disguises. Furthermore, it is comparable to those techniques when dealing with conventional disguises.

Opis:
The paper presents the story of the first privatisation of a public TV channel in the world – TF1 in France in 1987. TF1 was the most popular channel, therefore the news of selling it came as a huge surprise. However, the privatisation was carried out despite protests by both television crew and its viewers. The controversial winner was selected by means of a tender, hardly fulfilling any of the promises after winning. After many years, although the licence was only granted for 10 years, TF1 still remains in its hands.
Artykuł przedstawia historię pierwszej na świecie prywatyzacji publicznego kanału telewizyjnego TF1 we Francji w 1987 roku. TF1 był najpopularniejszym programem telewizyjnym, dlatego zapowiedź sprzedaży tego kanału była ogromnym zaskoczeniem. Jednak prywatyzacja została przeprowadzona pomimo protestów zarówno ze strony pracowników telewizji, jak i jej odbiorców. Wzbudzający liczne kontrowersje zwycięzca został wyłoniony w drodze przetargu, a po wygranej nie spełnił prawie żadnej z obietnic. Po latach, pomimo że koncesja ustanowiona była tylko na dziesięć lat, TF1 nadal pozostaje w jego rękach.

VII zmiana polskiego kontyngentu wojskowego w Afganistanie z perspektywy polskich żołnierzy VII zmiana w Afganistanie jest określana jako jedna z najtrudniejszych operacji stabilizacyjnych, przede wszystkim ze względu na zadania jakie były stawiane kontyngentowi (przede wszystkim ze względu na zapewnienie bezpieczeństwa w trakcie wyborów parlamentarnych), oraz warunki polityczno-społeczne w tamtym czasie. Celem niniejszej analizy jest zaprezentowanie VII zmiany w Afganistanie z perspektywy żołnierza. Analiza nie jest w żaden sposób odzwierciedleniem oficjalnych relacji z operacji pokojowej. Pokazuje codzienne obowiązki żołnierza, trud służby za granicą, relacje z Afgańczykami oraz wymagania, z jakimi muszą sobie radzić szeregowi żołnierze. Jest to analiza case study, uzupełniona źródłami o podobnym charakterze.
The 7th rotation in Afghanistan is described as one of the most difficult military operations, mainly due to the tasks that were set for the contingent and the political and social conditions at that time. The main aim of analysis is to present VII rotation in Afghanistan from soldier’s perspective. The analyze is not any reflection of an official relation from peace operation. There are a lot of everyday soldier’s duties and requirements what soldiers have to deal with. An article consists of description operations, conditions, services and soldier-officer relationship. The use of numerous quotes will reflect the realities and hardships of a peacekeeping operation in Afghanistan. It is case study analysis supplemented with sources of a similar nature.

Internal combustion engines use generally fossil fuel products. World resources of it is limited. Renewable alternative energy sources are getting important solution for energy demand. Hazelnut oil ethyl ester is obtained from raw hazelnut and mixed with diesel oil in certain proportions to use in a four-stroke direct injected single cylinder diesel engine. In this study the effects of the mixture of diesel oil with hazelnut oil ethyl ester on the engine performance and exhaust gas emissions are investigated for the first time in literature. The fuel injection system is regulated to use the mixture in the engine for the investigation. The results show that, the mixture with 25% ethyl ester extracted from hazelnut oil can be used as an alternative fuel without any change or regulation of the diesel engine.

We use a single molecule atomic force spectroscopy combined with the steered molecular dynamics simulation to determine a mechanical behavior of neural cell adhesion protein contactin during its unfolding. Force curves typical for modular proteins were observed, showing at most four unfolding peaks. The analysis of force spectra performed within worm-like chain model of polymer elasticity showed the presence of three unfolding lengths. Small plateaus, most likely resulting from forced transitions within domains were observed for the first time. Steered molecular dynamics simulations help to determine atomistic picture of domain unfolding.

Ammonia-water power cycles are important for efficient utilization of low temperature heat sources such as geothermal, solar, waste heat sources, etc. For some special conditions ammonia-water power cycle is an important and economical option. This paper presents an exergetic analysis of a combined power and cooling cycle that uses ammonia-water mixture as working fluid. Such cycles, use solar or geothermal energy or waste heat energy from a conventional power cycle. Ammonia-water power cycle can be used as independent cycles to provide power output and cooling. For a range (25-55 Bar) of boiler pressure the performance of the combined power and cooling cycle is investigated. The exergy of the boiler is very low compared to its energy. There is a boiling process and a heat transfer process at low temperature, both of which destruct the energy given to the boiler, so that the energy efficiency is low; however the exergy efficiency is higher than the energy efficiency. Increasing the turbine inlet pressure decreases the energy and exergy efficiencies.

Today, with the increasing use of various forms of radiation, all biological organisms are put at risk. Radiation science for medicine, agriculture, industry and military purposes has grown wide. To be protected from the harmful effects of radiation, attention should be paid to the time, distance and shielding rules. Shielding process varies according to the types of materials to be used. Turkey has the most abundant reserves of barite, which is a kind of heavy aggregate. Barite is experimentally used as a heavy concrete aggregate for radiation shielding purposes. In the present study, at first the shield thickness of the designed radiotherapy centre is computed according to the normal and heavyweight concretes. Then, the effect of type of material on the design of the radiotherapy centre is examined carrying out static and structural analyses.

In this study, three different gas turbine cogeneration systems that are preheating air, preheating air-fuel and simple cycles where steam injected in to combustion chamber are analyzed. The effects of steam injection on thermoeconomic performance are calculated and obtained. By using the first law of thermodynamics, the exergy analysis and economic methods, simulation programs written by the authors in FORTRAN code are obtained to use for the analyses. Thermoeconomic performance of these three different cycles for different stage and variable mass of injected steam are obtained and compared with literature. The effects of injection steam in to combustion chambers of those three cycles for variable compressing ratios, on power, efficiencies, product price and performances are obtained. Consequently, the advantages and the disadvantages of injection steam are evaluated. The results obtained in this study are compared with the results available in the literature. Injection steam into combustion chamber increases the electricity efficiency and electricity power but decreases the heat power of the cycles. Also the produced electricity price for per kWh is increasing.

In this study, an optimization analysis of the hydraulic gear pump cover with design of experiments and response surface method has been conducted. The sample of the solid cover of a hydraulic pump has been parametrically modelled. Structural strength analysis of the modelled hydraulic pump cover has been realized using finite element method. To prevent the concentration of stress on the hydraulic pump cover and to keep the stress values on the safe side, design inputs were not exceeded. According to the analysis results of this optimization study; the wall thickness of the hydraulic pump cover has been reduced. Finally, experimental tests were performed on hydraulic pump test setup, for verification of the simulation results.
