PFD method
Opis:
Application of the PFD method to turbulence modelling is surveyed. Important parts of the algorithm and of variance reduction techniques used therein are described. The computation results for a free-shear flow (mixing layer) and a wall-bounded flow in simple geometry (channel flow) are reported and perspectives for further development of the method are suggested.
Omówiono zastosowanie metody funkcji gęstości prawdopodobieństwa (PDF) do modelowania turbulencji, wraz z przykładami własnych obliczeń dla swobodnego przepływu ścinającego (strefa mieszania) i przepływu w prostej geometrii w obecności ścianek (kanał płaski). Wyszczególniono elementy algorytmu metody oraz sposoby redukcji szumu statystycznego uzyskiwanego rozwiązania. Omówiono perspektywy dalszego rozwoju metody PFD.

Opis:
The article presents results of simulation of 6-DOF motion for a missile subjected to atmospheric turbulences. Therefore, an applied mathematical model of motion includes description of stochastic turbulences influencing on missile flight. Both models of the motion as well as of turbulences are shortly presented. Model validity was assessed by comparing the calculation results with the data recorded during shooting on the range. Result of series of simulations allows determining the missile sensitivity to this case of disturbances. Exemplary results of simulations are shown. The turbulence model assumes that the wind is dependent on time and space. This assumption is based on the Taylor's "frozen turbulence" hypothesis. The advection velocity of the turbulence is much greater than the velocity scale of the turbulence itself. The velocity has two component. In the article, the first component is omitted and the second is treated as the stochastic process representing atmospheric turbulence. To describe this turbulence Shinozuka's method was applied. Mathematical description of the missile motion, equations of translatory motion, External forces end moments, model of the turbulence are presented in the article.

Opis:
Turbulence surrounding of the development programs of territory technogenic safety systems impacts the implementation of the program. Thus, it raises the need to design constructive tools of mathematical modeling configured to the phases of the development program in order to increase the efficiency of applying limited human, financial material, time and other resources being involved to solve the problem of technogenic safety systems. We consider both a static optimization model of the technological safety system structure and dynamic one taking into account the state of fixed assets of potentially dangerous industrial object, composition and quantity of hazardous substances being applied and stored at some industrial object, other factors that determine the potential possibility of technogenic incident occurrence. As criteria of the problems one can use forms of known criteria that allow to assess the economic efficiency of different technological safety systems. The main constraints of static and dynamic optimization mathematical models have been proposed and analyzed. In common the problems being considered are stochastic discrete (discrete-continuous) problems of multi-criteria optimization, and their decision is based on the implementation of the branch and bound approach. The approach allows organizing iterative algorithm to identify desired parameters of TTSS development program product.

Opis:
Based on the extended Huygens–Fresnel principle, variations in generalized Stokes parameters of stochastic anisotropic electromagnetic beams propagating through modified non-Kolmogorov atmospheric turbulence have been analyzed. The changes in generalized Stokes parameters with different turbulence parameters and source parameters were analyzed first. After that, the distributions of the spectral degrees of cross-polarization (SDCP) of isotropic beams and anisotropic beams were simulated. The results show that the profiles of distribution of SDCP of these two kinds of beams are very different in the near field, and will fluctuate through the propagation in atmospheric turbulence, but at last, when the propagation distance is long enough, the difference in the source makes a slight difference in the final profiles of SDCP in the output plane. They mainly depended on the turbulence perturbation, and in the weak turbulence, the profiles of final distribution show more flatter features.
