Rosyjska agresja na Ukrainę znacząco wpłynęła na wiele obszarów związanych z bezpieczeństwem międzynarodowym. Wpływ ten nie ominął przestrzeni kosmicznej, stymulując określone tendencje związane z jej militaryzacją. Tekst podejmuje zagadnienie charakteru tych tendencji i ich przełożenia na kierunki procesu militarnego wykorzystania przestrzeni pozaziemskiej. Szczególna uwaga została poświęcona wzajemnemu przenikaniu się procesów militaryzacji i komercjalizacji kosmosu. Kluczowym wnioskiem jest potwierdzenie tendencji – a w pewnym zakresie nawet nadanie jej dodatkowego impulsu – do inkorporowania rozwiązań pochodzących z sektora komercyjnego w proces militaryzacji kosmosu. Zjawisko to przybiera różne formy, od bezpośredniego wykorzystywania systemów komercyjnych do celów militarnych do rozwijania systemów wojskowych inspirowanych rozwiązaniami pochodzącymi z rynku komercyjnego. Na poziomie ogólnym prowadzi to do przekształceń w postrzeganiu pojęcia potęgi kosmicznej, w ramach której działalność komercyjna jest nie tylko wkładem w budowanie ekonomicznej pozycji państwa, ale staje się również elementem systemu bezpieczeństwa narodowego.
Russian aggression against Ukraine has significantly influenced many areas of international security. This influence did not bypass outer space, triggering certain trends related to its militarization. The paper deals with the nature of these tendencies and their transformation into the space militarization’s directions. Particular attention was paid to the interdependence of the militarization and commercialization of space. The key conclusion is the confirmation of the tendency – and to some extent even giving it an additional impulse – to incorporate solutions from the commercial sector into the process of space militarization. This phenomenon takes many forms, from the direct use of commercial systems for military purposes to the development of military systems inspired by solutions from the commercial market. On a general level, this leads to transformations in the perception of the concept of space power, in which commercial activity is not only a contribution to building the economic position of the state, but also becomes an element of the national security system.

This article shows the close link between religious policy, especially that of the confessional option, and the politicization of space in the building processes of territorial states. The study focuses on the two Danube Principalities of Wallachia and Moldavia, which implemented their state building owing to three decisive steps: i) the jurisdictional option in favour of the Ecumenical Patriarchate in Constantinople; ii) the territorial and social implementation of the Byzantine Orthodox faith by institutional infrastructure and monastic reform; iii) the Orthodox enculturation of the two Wallachian principalities.The main goal of this chapter is to show how cultural and historical phenomena transform the abstract geographical space into the political space of a state.

This work contains selected results of research on modelling identification of Polish Power Exchange (TGEE) on the example of the figures quoted on the Day Ahead Market (DAM) on TGEE in Poland. In order to obtain a model of the TGEE system on the beginning it was conducted to identify the figures for the period 01.01.2013-31.12.2015 obtaining discrete parametric model arx in MATLAB and Simulink environments using System Identification Toolbox (SIT). The resultant model was converted to a continuous parametric model, and that one on a continuous model in the state space. On the basis of obtained equations of state and outputs, there was interpreted a state variables and parameters of the selected model, i.e. selected elements of the matrix A and matrix B. Research continues.

Od historii starożytnej, poprzez wieki, aż po współczesność, prace architektoniczne mogły rosnąć, o ile pozwalały władzy realizować swoje plany społeczne i polityczne.

We współczesnym świecie z typem gospodarki zależnej energetycznie czynnikiem wyznaczającym proces podejmowania strategicznych i politycznych decyzji w wymiarze geopolitycznym jest segment energetyczny. W artykule uwagę skupiono na wynikach gospodarczych oraz na fundamencie finansowym energetycznego czynnika agresywnego polityki zagranicznej Rosji na obszarze europejskim. Zostały również zbadane jakościowe i ilościowe wskaźniki współczesnego rosyjskiego rynku energetycznego. Ustalono źródła pochodzenia bazy ekonomicznej opartej na wojskowym potencjale Federacji Rosyjskiej oraz zbadano zależność pomiędzy ilością wydatków na kompleks obronny a dochodami państwowego budżetu FR w branży energetycznej. Na podstawie wyników badań zaproponowano zestaw finansowych, gospodarczych i politycznych środków skutecznego powstrzymania bezkompromisowej polityki energetycznej Kremla na terenie państw europejskich.
В современном мире энергозависимых экономик ключевым фактором принятия стратегических решений в геополитическом измерении выступает энергетическая составляющая. В статье сфокусировано внимание на экономических истоках и энергетической составляющей агрессивного внешнеполитического курса России на европейском пространстве. Исследованы качественные и количественные показатели структуры современного российского энергетического рынка. Установлены основные источники экономического базиса избыточного военного потенциала Российской Федерации и выявлена зависимость между расходами на оборонный комплекс и доходами государственного бюджета РФ в энергетической сфере. По итогам исследования смоделированы возможные пути и предложен комплекс мер эффективной финансово-экономической и политико-стратегической системы сдерживания государствами ЕС нынешнего курса жесткой энергетической политики Кремля на территории европейских стран.

The social space generated for the political power is functional as the place of government and official residence of governing people. It is also symbolic because it expresses the prestige of power and the accepted ideology. The official buildings are the appropriated means to deploy the image of power. The paper presents some official buildings in Lomé, capital of Togo, and analyses their symbolic signification. As first example, it is the Governor Palace, huge, nice building constructed at the beginning of 20th century, used were changed their significance over time. As a second example service buildings constructed at the Place of Independence around the Monument of Independence. The author argues the recent history expressed through official buildings shows that it is difficult to construct the imagery of hopeful future in Togo because there are no clear and solid „lieux de memoire" that can serve as roots.

The author of the article shows the main structure of the functioning of power in the space occupied by particular communities in old Europe. He is also interested in the matter of ideological evaluation of political space, as well as in the specific reasons standing behind the creation of a certain place and his election to the capital of the early state. The conclusion of his deliberations - simplifying the large issue - was that power for their ceremonies created the linear space, but in fact more important to it was the need for centralization of society and focusing the social attention on one point where the monarch was placed.
Autor artykułu pokazuje podstawowe struktury funkcjonowania władzy w przestrzeni zajmowanej przez społeczności dawnej Europy. Zajmuje go zarówno kwestia ideowego wartościowania przestrzeni politycznej ludów, jak i przesłanki stojące za kreacją pewnego miejsca i jego wyborem na stolicę wczesnego państwa. Konkluzją rozważań – upraszczającą rozległy problem – jest stwierdzenie, że władza dla swoich ceremoniałów kreowała przestrzeń linearną, ale w istocie ważniejsza dla niej była potrzeba centralizacji społeczeństwa i skupienia jego uwagi w jednym punkcie w miejscu przebywania monarchy.

Aksu Akçaoğlu przebywał w latach 2014-2015 na Wydziale Socjologii Uniwersytetu Kalifornijskiego w Berkeley jako visiting scholar, gdzie wspólnie z Loikiem Wacquantem pracował na swym projektem poświęconym „habitusowi konserwatywnemu”. W poniższej rozmowie prosi Wacquanta o wyjaśnienie filozofii i pedagogiki jego słynnego seminarium prowadzonego w Berkeley, poświęconego Pierre’owi Bourdieu. Stanowi to okazję do przyjrzenia się raz jeszcze kluczowym węzłom konceptualnym w pracach Bourdieu, naświetlenie jego antyteoretycznej postawy, czy też rozwikłania relacji między przestrzenią społeczną, polem i władzą symboliczną oraz ostrzeżenia przed pokusami „bourdieziańskiej mowy”.
In 2014–2015, Aksu Akçaoğlu was a visiting scholar in the Department of Sociology at the University of California, Berkeley, where he had come to work with Loïc Wacquant on his research on “the conservative habitus” in contemporary Turkey (with the support of the TÜBİTAK Science Program). In this dialogue, he invites Wacquant to explicate the philosophy and pedagogy of his celebrated Berkeley seminar on Pierre Bourdieu. This provides an opportunity to revisit key conceptual nodes in Bourdieu’s work, to spotlight its antitheoreticist cast as well as the influences of Bachelard and Cassirer; to clarify the relationships between social space, field, and symbolic power; and to warn against the seductions of “speaking Bourdieuese.”

The problems of the traction power supply system calculation are considered in the article. The authors proposed the space-time model, which is based on the analytical functions of the current- and voltage-drop distributions in the contact network. The usage of the proposed model is shown for the control law calculation both to stabilize the voltage at the pantographs of the electric rolling stocks and to reduce the power losses.

Autor niniejszego artykułu stawia sobie za cel analizę wpływu współczesnej transformacji przestrzeni oraz jej postrzegania na relacje władzy politycznej. Kontekst przestrzenny władzy sprowadza zarówno do jej korelatów materialnych, jak i niematerialnych, gdzie składają się na nią także konstrukty wytwarzane społecznie. W pierwszej kolejności przedmiotem analizy staje się więc wyróżnienie wzajemnych relacji między tak określonymi fenomenami. W dalszej części autor uwydatnia zjawisko dywersyfikacji źródeł władzy oraz analizuje jej dynamikę jako zasadniczą konsekwencję heterogenicznego charakteru przestrzeni. Na tej podstawie wyciąga wnioski teoretyczne, które mają stać się przydatne w badaniach empirycznych, a ponadto proponuje jeden z możliwych kierunków pożądanego organizowania władzy we współczesnych demokracjach.
The author of this article aims to analyze the impact of contemporary space transformation and its perception on the relations of political power. The spatial context of power reduces to its material and non-material correlates, where it is also composed of socially produced constructs. In the first place, the subject of the analysis is the distinction of mutual relations between such specific phenomena. In the following, the author emphasizes the phenomenon of diversifying the sources of power and analyzes its dynamics as a fundamental consequence of the heterogeneous character of space. On this basis, he draws theoretical conclusions that are to become useful in empirical research and proposes one of the possible directions for the desired organization of power in modern democracies.

The paper presents the problems of human made space waste and discusses the threats they generate. The major hazards of this group of waste are collisions and the emission of chemical pollutants from radioisotope systems used to power artificial satellites and space missions. Activities that enhance the level of security in the Earth's orbital space and the legal aspects of space development are also analyzed.
W pracy przedstawiono problematykę odpadów kosmicznych wytworzonych przez człowieka oraz omówiono generowane przez nie zagrożenia. Do głównych niebezpieczeństw ze strony tej grupy odpadów zalicza się kolizje oraz emisję zanieczyszczeń chemicznych pochodzących z systemów radioizotopowych wykorzystywanych do zasilania sztucznych satelitów i misji kosmicznych. Przeanalizowane zostały także działania wzmacniające poziom bezpieczeństwa w przestrzeni orbitalnej Ziemi oraz aspekty prawne związane z zagospodarowaniem przestrzeni kosmicznej.

The purpose of this paper is a multidimensional analysis of the problem of power in the film Matnia by Roman Polański. Using the ups and downs of three heroes as a starting point of the deliberations, the author proves that the effectiveness of power is not only in physical strength and the will to dominate but rather in the readiness to be subordinated. This readiness is generated in the heroes by such factors as vast and unprotected space of the castle, making of one of the main heroes – George – a female character, the failure of the institution of marriage (evidence of George’s wife’s unfaithfulness appears in the film), the powerlessness of language, which makes opposing the oppressor difficult, and finally omnipotence of the affect understood as a key to the interpretation of postmodern power structures.

A high-performance space propulsion system normally uses pressure fed systems that drive up propellant tank mass and limit space engine performance and design varieties. In this paper, the particular specifications and designing factors that should be met by rocket engine fuel pumps are demonstrated, and a comparative study is formed on the suitableness of all the necessary kinds of pumps to be used with rocket engines and their applications. Furthermore, the paper describes low cost and high-performance pump technology. This new piston pump has been improved for space applications. Depending on the type of body of this pump, its various parts should be evaluated at the desired pressure and temperature as well as the speed of fluid handling, leakage from the body, and the strength of the parts. Our review results are expressed to give complete awareness of different situations in space rockets.

Odpowiedzi na powyższe pytania pozwolą na weryfikację przyjętej hipotezy, która mówi, że podstawą współczesnej mocarstwowości Wielkiej Brytanii jest londyńskie City pełniące funkcję globalnego centrum finansowego. Odgrywa ono kluczową rolę w budowaniu przestrzeni geoekonomicznej.
The aim of the article is to analyze the condition of the UK economy with particular emphasis on the financial services sector and the role it plays in building the modern Great Britain’s position as a major power in the world The article constitutes an attempt to answer two main research questions: Is Great Britain an economic power of international importance, which thanks to the strength of its economy is able to shape geo-economic space? Is London, as the emanation of the British financial services sector, the pillar of the British geo-economic space? Answers to the above questions will allow us to verify the adopted hypothesis, which states that the basis of modern Great Britain’s position as a major power is London City acting as a global financial center. It plays a key role in building the geo-economic space.

Dramatyzacja obcej przestrzeni w powieści Moc i chwała Grahama Greene’a: Ponowna wizyta w Greeneland Graham Greene często podróżował i akcja jego książek często ma miejsce w różnych zakątkach świata. Mimo to krytycy są zgodni, że w swych powieściach Greene stworzył a-topos – przestrzeń odzwierciedlającą rozwój tematów (czy to duchowych, czy politycznych) zajmujących autora, a nie konkretne rzeczywiste miejsce. Z czasem ów a-topos otrzymał nazwę Greeneland. Niniejszy artykuł stawia tezę, że krytycy, skupiając się na głównych motywach w twórczości Greene’a, ignorują fakt, że dokładna analiza świata przedstawionego podważa powszechnie panujące przekonanie, jakoby Greene wykreował w swojej twórczości przestrzeń mentalną, nie-miejsce. W celu dowiedzenia postawionej tezy, artykuł analizuje reprezentację przestrzeni i społeczeństwa w Mocy i chwale (1940), powieści, której akcja toczy się podczas religijnych prześladowań w Meksyku w latach dwudziestych dwudziestego wieku. Porównuję utwór Greene’a z powieścią Pedro Páramo Juana Rulfo (1955), gdyż powieść ta opisuje ten sam okres, a krajobrazy w niej opisane przypominają te z powieści Greene’a. Tym samym artykuł proponuje redefinicję idei Greeneland.
Graham Greene was a frequent traveler and he commonly chose different spaces around the world as settings for his novels. Critics have generally agreed, however, that the British author created in his novels an a-topos, a space that conformed not to the reality of the country depicted, but to the development of the topics, spiritual or political, with which Greene was obsessed. That atopical location became over time what has been called Greeneland, a concept with which any Greene scholar inevitably becomes familiar. In this paper, I revisit the concept of Greeneland, arguing that scholars tend to focus on the major themes present in Greene’s literary world and to ignore the fact that a close analysis of the fictional landscape in his work challenges the assertion that what Greene created in his novels was a mental entity, a non-place. In order to do so, I focus on the representation of space and society in Greene’s The Power and the Glory (1940), the Mexico of the religious persecution of the late 1920s. I compare Greene’s representation with the Mexico of the same period depicted in Juan Rulfo’s Pedro Páramo (1955), a novel whose fictional landscape bears uncanny resemblances to the one described in The Power and the Glory. This analysis leads us to rethink the concept of Greeneland as generally defined in the criticism.

Despite the relatively numerous experimental studies, there are few published works on the topic of development of mathemati-cal models that describe the hydrodynamic processes in gears. There is no generic analytical model that integrates all types of losses. The purpose of this work is to develop a modern generalised methodology for calculating the hydrodynamic power losses of high-speed gears. For each gear, partially or fully immersed into an oil bath, the power spent to overcome the hydromechanical resistance can be represented as the sum of the following: the Coriolis force moment arising from the radial movement of the oil in the tooth spaces of the rotating gear, the viscous friction forces moment on the periphery of the gear addendums in the oil bath and the viscous friction forces moment at the face of the gear in the oil bath. The hydrodynamic power losses due to the Coriolis force action, viscosity friction losses at the periphery of the gear and the viscosity friction at the face of the gear (both turbulent and laminar modes) were observed separately. From the mathematical simulation of the rotation processes when the gear is immersed into the oil bath, an analytical dependence was obtained. It allows predicting the influence of the geometrical parameters of the gearing on the hydrodynamic power losses. Analysis of the calculation results of the power losses due to the action of hydraulic resistance forces and results from experimental studies is provided for several gears with different hydromechanical parameters. The proposed method of calculating power loss due to hydromechanical resistance of the oil bath to the rotation of the gear gave results that were close to the experimental data. Acceptable coincidence of theoretical and experimental results allows recommending the received analytical dependencies for practical calculations of high-speed gears.

In this project focused Addresses a cost-effective, flexible solution of improvement of efficiency to three phase AC-DC converter using SVPWM(space vector pulse width modulation).The proposed converter has a better efficiency, especially under light-load condition and it was explained that this is because the energy from the output inductor can always be used to ensure that the very top and the very bottom switches can be turned ON with ZVS due to a discharge path that is introduced by its flying capacitor.

Fundamentals of systems and control theory as well as systems development identification theory were used for the purpose of the DPS Identification, which allowed to generate models of development, including models of development in the form of matrix th and the equations in the states space (ss). This served as the basis to develop the systemic model of the DPS system development, which was implemented in Simulink, by defining successive blocks of the model as characteristics of individual subsystems of the DPS, identified in the MATLAB environment using the System Identification Toolbox, and transformed into the models in the state space using the Control System Toolbox. As a result of solving a set of equations of state variables using an m-file in the MATLAB environment three state variables were obtained. Based on the obtained solution, responses of the DPS system (output variable y1) to the following types of input functions: unit step 1(θ), Dirac impulse δ(θ) and sin(θ) function were obtained. The results of experiments were interpreted. An attempt to design a system that corrects and adjusts the functioning of the model of the DPS was made using state regulator and state observer as an example.

This paper regards the urban street as social space, where different symbolic interactions occur between individuals and groups of people. The established social and political order within this space happens to be disturbed by different forms of protest. An article attempts to compare the course of riots in former times to those at present. The comparison implies that the functional grandness of the urban street belongs to the past. This is mainly caused by new legal regulations restricting freedom of assembly and the new tele-electronic media space, and by a deepening division of the Polish society into different groups of interest, and its consequent inability to consolidate. An indirect cause also is the new order and mentality developed in democratic societies and by a consumeristic lifestyle.

Artykuł porusza problem pomiaru potęgi cybernetycznej państw na przykładzie dwóch modeli badawczych: modelu Cyber Power Index (CPI) oraz modelu A.M. Gomeza. Obie metody oparte są na analizie wskaźników, przy czym pierwszy model szacuje wyłącznie defensywną potęgę cybernetyczną, natomiast drugi zarówno jej wymiar defensywny, jak i ofensywny. Oba te wymiary cyberpotęgi stanowią obecnie główne determinanty kierunków poszukiwań rozwiązania ww. problemu badawczego. Ponadto model drugi służy do szacowania strategii państw w cyberprzestrzeni, spośrod trzech wyrożnionych: - utrzymania potęgi cybernetycznej; - osiągania równowagi; - demonstrowania potęgi cybernetycznej. Prezentowane wyniki badań obu modeli różnią się dość znacznie, co potwierdza złożoność problematyki już w fazie koncepcyjnej i konieczność dalszych poszukiwań.
The article discusses the problem of measurement of cyber power of states using the example of two research models: Cyber Power Index (CPI) and A.M. Gomez. Both methods are based on the analysis of indicators. The first model values only defensive cyber power, the second defensive and offensive as well. Both of these cyber power dimensions can be seen as the main determinants of the directions of research for solutions to the above mentioned research problem. The second model serves for the estimating of a state s strategies in cyberspace from the- maintenance of cyber power, the achievement balance, and the demonstration of cyber power. The results of both models differ considerably enough and already confirm the complexity of this problem during the conceptual phase and highlight the need for further research.
