In the 20th century, tuberculosis was already perceived as a democratic disease. An overview of tuberculosis became different and less serious. Seven-volumed press ephemerid from the interwar period, that is, Prątka Jednodniówka (Bystra Śląska) is one of the examples. This journal is gelotherapeutic. Introducing satirical, journalistic, literary and graphic genres, it used some sophisticated rhetorical and metaphorical devices to familiarize tuberculosis and made an attempt of a laughter therapy. A sense of community associated with the undertaking, placing the subject in the health resort reality and undertaking medical issues in a humorous manner: the aim of all these factors was to show the life in the sanatorium as well as tuberculosis itself in the crooked mirror of a satire.

The purpose of this study was to compare two popular programming frameworks dedicated to building SPA applications. Two proprietary applications with identical functionalities were analyzed, one created in React and the other in Angular. A ready-made programming tool was used, an original script comparing the speed of adding elements to the database, and the popularity of the technology was checked on the Stack Overflow website and in the Google search engine.

The text present environmental and health challenges of climate changes. It refers to Polish medical spas and law regulating them. It begins with environmental aspects of climate changes and is followed with its health aspects. The scale of health problems caused by the quality of the environmental elements is increasing. This condition has not been improved by the covid-19 pandemic or the ageing population. All this poses challenges for the health system. The next part of the text places medical spa treatments and characterizes Polish spa law. The last part presents areas of spa law which seek for urgent change. The whole is finished with conclusions and list of resources.

Historic green spaces in towns cities, especially those that build up a system of public areas, play an extremely important role in shaping the spatial structure of a town. These systems, often designed by excellent planners, architects and urbanists, are very durable elements of urban layouts and to a large extent determine the development of a town. This article presents the results of research on green areas in Ciechocinek conducted by the authors, from 2017 to 2022, as part of the statutory activities of the National Institute of Cultural Heritage. First of all, the functioning of a homogeneous system of public green areas in Ciechocinek is demonstrated, which clearly defines the character and specifitown of the town, and constitutes its enormous potential. The history of its formation and development, its characteristic features and values were presented, the state of preservation and threats were discussed, and actions were proposed to make full use of its potential. It emphasises the need to plan activities not only at the scale of the objects, but also in relation to the whole system, as it is their belonging to a larger whole that defines their essence and value.
Historyczne tereny zieleni w miastach, zwłaszcza te które budują system terenów publicznych, odgrywają niezwykle istotną rolę w kształtowaniu struktury przestrzennej miasta. Systemy te zaprojektowane często przez wyśmienitych planistów, architektów i urbanistów są bardzo trwałymi elementami układów urbanistycznych i w znacznym stopniu determinują rozwój miasta. W artykule przedstawiono wyniki badań dot. terenów zieleni w Ciechocinku prowadzonych przez autorki, w latach 2017-2022 w ramach statutowej działalności Narodowego Instytutu Dziedzictwa. Przede wszystkim wykazano funkcjonowanie w Ciechocinku jednorodnego systemu publicznych terenów zieleni, który w sposób jednoznaczny określa charakter i specyfikę miasta, i stanowi jego olbrzymi potencjał. Przedstawiono historię jego formowania i rozwoju, charakterystyczne cechy i wartości, omówiono stan zachowania i zagrożenia oraz zaproponowano działania pozwalające w pełni wykorzystać jego potencjał. Podkreślono konieczność planowania działań nie tylko w skali obiektów, lecz również w odniesieniu do całego systemu, bowiem właśnie przynależność do większej całości określa ich istotę i wartość.

The article is devoted to the Polish hygienist Apolinary Tarnawski (1851–1943) and the image of the institute of natural medicine he ran at Kosiv (Kosów) in Pokuttya (1893– 1914) (now Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast, in western Ukraine), as presented in the Polish-language spa magazines at the end of the nineteenth and in the early twentieth centuries, including Nasze Zdroje, Przegląd Zdrojowy, Przegląd Zdrojowo-Kąpielowy, Przegląd Zdrojowy i Turystyczny, Przegląd Zdrojowo-Kąpielowy i Turystyczny, Przewodnik Kąpielowy, Zdrój Ciechociński, and Kurier Ciechociński. The Tarnawski Institute was considered a hygiene school of the borderland area; it functioned from 1893 to 1939, and it implemented natural and innovative treatment methods: fresh air, exercise and a vegetarian diet.

In the author’s opinion, the petition – submitted by a spa commune – is unjustified insofar as it refers to persons residing in a town recognised as a spa town who, for health purposes, temporarily stay in a spa treatment facility located in that town. However, an exemption from the spa fee for persons having their place of residence in a locality which is not situated in an area which has been granted the status of a health resort, who temporarily benefit from health treatment in the municipality of their residence, should be considered. The introduction of such an entity exemption requires an intervention of the legislator.

Przeprowadzone badania dotyczą pewnych określonych miejsc na mapie Polski, które ze względu na swoiste odrębności wyróżniają się szczególnym reżimem prawnym. Prezentowany artykuł dotyczy bowiem miejscowości, w których granicach administracyjnych znajduje się obszar uzdrowiska. Celem opracowania jest opis i analiza zagadnień dotyczących nazwy uzdrowiska. Ze względu na to, że samo pojęcie uzdrowiska jest w różny sposób definiowane, przytoczono różne określenia na wyjaśnienie tego terminu wywodzące się z języka potocznego i prawnego. Następnie poddano charakterystyce założenie ustawodawcy, zgodnie z którym do nazwy miejscowości, w której granicach administracyjnych znajduje się obszar uzdrowiska, może zostać dodany wyraz „zdrój”, jeżeli podstawą leczenia uzdrowiskowego są wody lecznicze, lub wyraz „cieplice” bądź „uzdrowiska termalne”, jeżeli podstawą leczenia uzdrowiskowego są wody termalne. Przyjęte rozwiązanie wskazuje bowiem na pewne odrębności ustrojowe w zakresie możliwości używania i zmiany nazwy określającej miejscowość uzdrowiskową. Przedstawiono procedurę i tryb ustalania i zmiany nazwy gminy lub miejscowości. Poza tym poruszono problemy dotyczące prawnej ochrony nazwy uzdrowiska, ale też wskazano na pewne przywileje związane z przedmiotową nazwą związane z marketingiem terytorialnym w uzdrowisku. We wnioskach wskazano możliwe kierunki zmian w kontekście nazwy miejscowości uzdrowiskowej.
The conducted research concerns certain specific places on the map of Poland, which, due to their specific differences, are distinguished by a special legal regime. The presented article concerns the towns within which the area of the health resort is located. The aim of the study is to describe and analyze issues related to the name of the spa. Due to the fact that the very concept of a health resort is defined in various ways, various terms were quoted to explain this term, derived from colloquial and legal language. Subsequently, the legislator’s assumption was characterized, according to which the word „bath” can be added to the name of the town within the administrative borders of which the health resort area is located, if the basis for spa treatment are healing waters, or the word „hot springs” or „thermal spas” if thermal waters are the basis of spa treatment. The adopted solution indicates certain systemic differences in terms of the possibility of using and changing the name of a spa town. The procedure and procedure for determining and changing the name of a commune or town were presented. In addition, problems related to the legal protection of the spa name were raised, but also certain privileges associated with the name in question related to territorial marketing in the spa were indicated. The conclusions indicated possible directions of changes in the context of the name of the spa town.

Badanie przeprowadzono z wykorzystaniem 3 aplikacji reprezentujących tę samą treść badawczą, ale opartych na tytułowych technologiach typu front-end. W celu oceny wydajności wykorzystano narzędzia deweloperskie przeglądarek internetowych oraz biblioteki React dzięki czemu dowiedziono, że czysty React jest najwydajniejszy przy generowaniu stron o dużej liczbie danych
This article presents a performance analysis of some of the most popular development frameworks based on the React library. The aim of the study was to show which of the technologies used to create the visual parts of web applications is the most efficient. The research was conducted with the use of 3 applications representing the same research content but based on the above-mentioned frontend technologies. In order to evaluate the performance, web browser development tools and React library were used, which proved that vanilla React is the most efficient for rendering pages with a lot of data.

Background. Calcium and Vitamin D are key nutrients in the diet of elderly people due to osteoporosis. One of the places where seniors, through observation, can gain knowledge on how to compose a meal to make it wholesome is a sanatorium that combines spa treatment and rehabilitation with diet therapy. Objective. The aim of the study was to assess the menus in terms of the content of calcium and vitamin D in the meals consumed by the elderly people during spa treatment in the health resort and to compare the results with the Polish Dietary Reference Values. Material and methods. The study was carried out at Krynica Zdrój resort among patients who underwent spa therapy as part of 14-day stay periods. Menus prepared for 3 different diets were assessed, namely regular diet, easy-to-digest diet and diet for diabetics with limitation of easily digestible carbohydrates. The meals were served for 309 people (194 women and 115 men) most of them aged over 50. Results. All meals served in the spa were deficient in calcium and vitamin D. The mean daily intake of calcium throughout the six months was 711.68 mg, whereas the Estimated Average Requirement (EAR) for both women and men is 1000 mg. The mean contents of vitamin D in all 3 served diets were at a similar level. The diets daily supplied approximately 4-5 μg vitamin D/person, which constituted about 30% of the daily requirement for this vitamin. Conclusions. In order to reduce the risk of diseases resulting from calcium and vitamin D deficiency, the amount of foods containing these nutrients should be increased in daily diet or, if this is impossible, they should be supplemented.
Wprowadzenie. Wapń i witamina D są kluczowymi składnikami diety osób starszych w aspekcie osteoporozy. Jednym z miejsc, gdzie seniorzy poprzez obserwację mogą zdobyć wiedzę na temat komponowania zdrowego posiłku jest sanatorium, które łączy leczenie uzdrowiskowe i rehabilitację z dietoterapią. Cel. Celem badań była ocena jadłospisów pod kątem zawartości wapnia i witaminy D w posiłkach spożywanych przez osoby starsze w trakcie leczenia uzdrowiskowego oraz porównanie wyników z obowiązującymi w Polsce normami żywienia. Materiał i metody. Badanie przeprowadzono w uzdrowisku Krynica Zdrój w grupie kuracjuszy korzystających z 14-dniowego pobytu uzdrowiskowego. Ocenie poddano 14-dniowe jadłospisy przygotowane dla 3 różnych diet, a mianowicie podstawowej, łatwostrawnej oraz diety z ograniczeniem łatwo przyswajalnych węglowodanów. Posiłki spożywało 309 osób (194 kobiet i 115 mężczyzn), w większości powyżej 50. roku życia. Wyniki. Wszystkie posiłki serwowane w sanatorium były ubogie w wapń i witaminę D. Średnia zawartość w nich wapnia w ciągu sześciu miesięcy wyniosła 711,68 mg, podczas gdy średnie zapotrzebowanie (EAR) zarówno dla kobiet jak i mężczyzn wynosi 1000 mg. Średnia zawartość witaminy D we wszystkich 3 dietach była na zbliżonym poziomie. Diety dostarczały dziennie około 4–5 μg witaminy D, co stanowiło około 30% dziennego zapotrzebowania na ten składnik. Wnioski. W celu zmniejszenia ryzyka chorób wynikających z niedoboru wapnia i witaminy D należy w codziennej diecie zwiększyć ilość pokarmów zawierających te składniki lub, jeśli to niemożliwe, suplementować.

Celem artykułu jest przeprowadzenie analizy porównawczej dwóch szkieletów programistycznych na przykładzie jednego z najpopularniejszych obecnie React v17 oraz Svelte, który zdobywaznaczną popularność. Do przeprowadzenia badań zaimplementowano dwie autorskie aplikacje o takich samych funkcjonalnościach w obu analizowanych szkieletach programistycznych. Analiza dotyczy przede wszystkim czasów renderowania widoków, ale porównywane są także struktury aplikacji oraz ich rozmiar. W wyniku badań stwierdzono, że aplikacja Svelte jest znacznie bardziej wydajnaw porównaniu do aplikacji React.
The aim of the article is to perform a comparative analysis of two programming frameworks on the example of one of the most popular currently React v17 and Svelte, which is gaining considerable popularity. Two applications with the same functionalities in both analyzed frameworks were implemented to conduct the research. The analysis mainly concerns the rendering times of views, but the application structures and their size are also compared. As a result of the research, it was found that the Svelte application is much more efficient compared to the React application.

In the second half of the 19th century, a spa was set up in Ojców, a village at the time situated by the southern border of the Kingdom of Poland. With time, it became a fashionable destination for visitors from Warsaw, and from other towns and cities located in the territory of the Russian sector of partitioned Poland. Ojców experienced its heyday early in the 19th and 20th centuries and its spa activities continued also between the two world wars. The Ojców demesne was then owned by Count Ludwik Krasiński and his daughter Maria Ludwika, from 1901 Princess Czartoryska. The latter remained the owner of Ojców until the nationalisation of the estate in the wake of the agrarian reform of 1944. The article attempts to discuss the contribution of Ludwik Krasiński and his daughter Maria Ludwika to the architectural heritage of Ojców. It was their idea to have many buildings, particularly those that catered to the the needs of the local spa, built. Their number includes the Jadwiga and Urocza villas, and the non-extant Goplana hydrotherapy establishment. Moreover, Ludwik Krasiński and later Maria Ludwika Czartoryska ordered works on the ruins of Ojców Castle and development of the Ojców spa park. It was chiefly thanks to their efforts that certain elements of the Swiss spa architecture and subsequently also the Zakopane (Polish highland) style were introduced in Ojców. There are also certain unrealised and partially realised goals worth mentioning, for instance an attempt to restore the castle tower, the initiative to move the historical wooden church from Smardzowice to Ojców (ultimately, it was transferred to Mostek, a village in Miechowski County), and the concept of building an immense spa estate reminiscent of a garden city in Złota Góra initiated between the two world wars.
W drugiej połowie XIX wieku w Ojcowie, miejscowości położonej ówcześnie przy południowej granicy Królestwa Polskiego, urządzone zostało uzdrowisko, które z czasem stało się modnym miejscem przyjazdów dla mieszkańców Warszawy i innych miast zaboru rosyjskiego. Największy swój rozkwit miejscowość przeżywała na przełomie XIX i XX wieku, a działalność uzdrowiskowa była kontynuowana także w okresie międzywojennym. Dobra ojcowskie były wówczas w posiadaniu hrabiego Ludwika Krasińskiego i jego córki Marii Ludwiki, od 1901 roku księżnej Czartoryskiej. Maria Ludwika była właścicielką Ojcowa aż do nacjonalizacji majątku w wyniku reformy rolnej z roku 1944. W artykule podjęto próbę omówienia wkładu Ludwika Krasińskiego i jego córki w dziedzictwo architektoniczne Ojcowa. Z ich inicjatywy powstało wiele budowli, wznoszonych zwłaszcza na potrzeby uzdrowiska (m.in. wille „Jadwiga” i „Urocza”, niezachowany zakład hydropatyczny „Goplana”). Ludwik Krasiński, a potem Maria Ludwika Czartoryska podejmowali ponadto prace przy ruinach zamku ojcowskiego, a także kształtowali charakter parku zdrojowego. W dużej mierze ich zasługą było rozpropagowanie w Ojcowie form tzw. architektury szwajcarskiej, a potem wprowadzenie do niektórych budowli elementów stylu zakopiańskiego. Warto wspomnieć też o zamierzeniach niezrealizowanych, czy też zrealizowanych jedynie częściowo, takich jak: próba odbudowy wieży zamkowej, inicjatywa przeniesienia do Ojcowa zabytkowego, drewnianego kościoła ze Smardzowic (ostatecznie trafił do wsi Mostek w powiecie miechowskim) czy międzywojenny projekt budowy ogromnego osiedla uzdrowiskowego w typie miasta-ogrodu na Złotej Górze.

Muzeum Sportu i Turystyki w Warszawie posiada bogatą kolekcję kilku tysięcy pocztówek, która systematycznie od wielu lat jest udostępniana w formie wystaw czasowych. Kolejnym tematem, który jeszcze nie doczekał się swojego opracowania, a stanowi sporą część tego zbioru jest turystyka uzdrowiskowa i wypoczynek. Muzeum Sportu i Turystyki w Warszawie, w roku swojego jubileuszu 70-lecia, na wystawie „Ach jak przyjemnie…” prezentuje zbiór ponad 100 oryginalnych kart pocztowych, dokumentujących wypoczynek Polaków w uzdrowiskach i letniskach od końca XIX do drugiej połowy XX w. Na stronach ilustracyjnych kart pocztowych od początków ich istnienia pojawiały się panoramy miast, widoki kurortów, ich najświetniejszych obiektów, miejscowej malowniczej przyrody, górskich i nadmorskich krajobrazów oraz oczywiście grup zadowolonych kuracjuszy i turystów. Pocztówki, obok funkcji informacyjnej spełniały rolę pamiątki z podróży i uwiecznienia wspomnień. Były pieczołowicie przechowywane w rodzinnych albumach, a z czasem przekształciły się w pasję kolekcjonerską. Są dokumentami życia społecznego, które opowiadają fascynujące historie i przenoszą w klimat dawnych uzdrowisk i kurortów. Ekspozycja, poprzez karty pocztowe, przybliża historię miejsc letniego wypoczynku Polaków. Wzbogacają ją podróżnicze i turystyczne artefakty – m.in. stroje, kufry, walizki i plecaki oraz przewodniki, informatory i plakaty. Patronat nad wystawą objęli: Marszałek Województwa Mazowieckiego, Ministerstwo Sportu i Turystyki, Mazowiecka Regionalna Organizacja Turystyczna, Polskie Towarzystwo Turystyczno-Krajoznawcze i Poczta Polska.
The Museum of Sports and Tourism in Warsaw has a rich collection of several thousand postcards, which has been regularly presented in the form of temporary exhibitions for many years. Spa tourism and recreation is another subject that has not been studied yet, but makes up a large part of this collection. In the year of its 70th anniversary, the Museum of Sports and Tourism in Warsaw presents a collection of over 100 original postcards documenting Poles' holidays in health resorts and summer resorts from the late 19th to the second half of the 20th century at the exhibition "Oh, how lovely...". The illustration postcards, from their inception, featured city panoramas, views of resorts, their most impressive facilities, the local picturesque nature, mountains and coastal landscapes and, of course, groups of happy tourists and spa visitors. Postcards, apart from the informative function, played the role of travel souvenirs and capturing memories. They were meticulously stored in family albums, and over time they turned into a collector's passion. They are documents of social life that tell fascinating stories and take you back to the atmosphere of former health resorts and spas. Through postcards, the exhibition brings the history of Poles' summer holiday destinations closer. It is enriched by travel and tourism artifacts – including clothes, trunks, suitcases and backpacks, as well as guidebooks, information leaflets and posters. The exhibition is held under the patronage of the Marshal of the Mazowieckie Voivodeship, the Ministry of Sport and Tourism, the Masovian Regional Tourist Organization, the Polish Tourist and Sightseeing Society and the Polish Post.

The article presents the institution of corporate governance in spa treatment entities that conduct organized activities in the field of providing spa health care services and spa rehabilitation. Using the term health resort management adopted for the purposes of this study, attention is drawn to the general administrative powers of the health resort authorities towards users (patients). There is no doubt that this sovereignty is necessary to achieve the objectives of a given entity. In the case presented here, the goal of the health resort treatment facility is to conduct spa treatment and to provide patients with guaranteed health services in this area. This study confirms that the acts of corporate law include organizational regulations and the statute of the health resort in the health resort. Against their background, reference is made to the problem of compliance with the corporate governance guaranteed by authoritative legal measures. The aim of the study is to analyze and evaluate the legal regulations concerning the authority used in the spa treatment facility. In this matter, the concept and essence of the institution of corporate governance on the grounds of doctrine and jurisprudence are discussed, and a catalog of features typical of spa company governance is indicated. The institution of the company regulations and statutes of the spa treatment facility is also examined, indicating the characteristics and legal nature of the standards established by company bodies, in terms of both the legal forms of operation of the facility and the sources of law. The issues of users and the use of a spa treatment facility allow for the indication of the rights and obligations of users of this type of facility, along with showing doubts regarding the issue of paying fees for health services in the field of spa treatment or spa rehabilitation.

W artykule przedstawiono warunki występowania wód leczniczych na Dolnym Śląsku zwracając szczególną uwagę na specyfikę tego obszaru. Omówiono wielowiekową historię wykorzystywania dolnośląskich wód leczniczych oraz obecny stan udokumentowania ich zasobów. Na Dolnym Śląsku występuje wiele rodzajów wód leczniczych, m.in. szczawy, wody radonowe i lecznicze wody termalne, a także ich mieszaniny (szczawy termalne, szczawy radonowe). Wody te zawierają także szereg składników swoistych, takich jak żelazo, fluorki, kwas metakrzemowy i siarkowodór. Złoża tych wód w największym nagromadzeniu występują w Sudetach. Na obszarze bloku przedsudeckiego i monokliny przedsudeckiej są mniej liczne. Aktualnie na Dolnym Śląsku znajduje się 20 złóż wód leczniczych, z czego w 2020 r. wody wydobywano z 10 z nich. Wody lecznicze Dolnego Śląska są wykorzystywane głównie w balneoterapii i rozlewnictwie, także w rekreacji oraz do wytwarzania kosmetyków i produkcji naturalnego CO2. W artykule poruszono także najważniejsze zagadnienia związane z dokumentowaniem zasobów eksploatacyjnych ujęć wód leczniczych na Dolnym Śląsku.
The article discusses the conditions of the occurrence of medicinal waters in Lower Silesia, paying special attention to the specificity of this area. The centuries-old history of the use of healing waters and the current state of documenting their resources are presented. There are many types of healing waters in Lower Silesia, incl. sorrel, radon and healing thermal waters, as well as their mixtures (thermal sorrel, radon sorrel).These waters also contain a number of specific components such as iron, fluorides, metasilicic acid and hydrogen sulfide.The deposits of these waters are mostly concentrated in the Sudetes.They are less numerous in the area of the Fore-Sudetic Block and the Fore-Sudetic Monocline.Currently, there are 20 healing water deposits in Lower Silesia, of which, in 2020, water was extracted from 10 of them.The curative waters of Lower Silesia are used mainly in balneotherapy and bottling, also for the production of cosmetics and the production of natural CO2.The article also deals with the most important issues related to documenting the exploitation resources of the Lower Silesian healing water intakes.
