Opis:
Przedmiotem artykułu jest przedstawienie sukcesów i porażek związanych z implementacją usługi SOS (ang. Sensor Observation Service), zgodnie z wymaganiami INSPIRE. W omawianym przypadku studialnym podjęto próbę wdrożenia tego rozwiązania dla danych hydrologicznych, na podstawie obserwacji serwisu informacyjnego Państwowej Służby Hydrologiczno-Meteorologicznej. W referacie omówiono między innymi mapowania danych i zastosowanie specyfikacji 52°North SOS 4.x. Wyjaśniono również jak rozwiązano problemy pojawiające się podczas implementacji usługi SOS.
The aim of this paper is to present the successes and failures of the OGC Sensor Observation Service (SOS) implementation, as required by the INSPIRE download service. In this case, the service operates on hydrological data collected from the website of the National Hydrological and Meteorological Service. Among other things, data mapping and the use of 52°North SOS 4.x specification were discussed, and solutions to problems occurring during implementation were also explained.

Opis:
The SOS system and SOS mutagenesis are frequently studied, or exploited to obtain an increase in mutagenicity of bacteria. Here a short survey is made of the phenomenon of SOS response with special attention to latest and less discussed data, especially the induction of the SOS system in response to cell starvation or mutation of certain genes and the role of inducible DNA polymerases.

Opis:
The article describes the design of a Satellite Observation System (SOS) which assists drivers in their travel (in real time). The system allows the driver to receive a top-down view (in the respective scale) covering a large area around their vehicle. Using the GPS and the GSM system as well as images from a satellite - thanks to the SOS, the driver will be provided with a valuable tool assisting them in driving e.g. when: overtaking in heavy field conditions, identification of the road or facilities, setting a more optimal route (bypassing traffic jams) etc.. The principle of operation is based on respectively located satellites which take very high-resolution pictures of the Earth's surface in real time. These pictures are sent via the GSM (or a different) system to the receiver of the SOS system on the ground -a SOS station - which projects GPS coordinates on them. In order to receive the image with the area of the road ahead (or around the vehicle), the driver in a vehicle turns on their SOS system which sends the vehicle's GPS coordinates to the SOS station. The SOS station processes the picture received from the satellite, preparing only a small section of it which corresponds to the area around the GPS coordinates - the vehicle's position. This section is then sent to the SOS system inside the vehicle, which, in turn, displays it on an LCD screen. This cycle repeats so rapidly that the driver may be under an impression that he/she watches the image from the camera placed over the vehicle. The SOS system will contribute to the increase in road safety and the maneuver of overtaking in difficult field conditions will become less risky. The SOS system will also allow the emergency services and the police to promptly locate and identify any road accidents.

Artykuł Koncepcja pedagogiczna Wiosek Dziecięcych SOS w ujęciu Hermanna Gmeinera i jej współczesne zastosowanie w Polsce przedstawia system opiekuńczo-wychowawczy jednej z form opieki nad dziećmi pozbawionymi rodziny własnej, jaką są Wioski Dziecięce SOS. Artykuł obejmuje cztery części: wstęp, zasady pedagogiczne Wiosek Dziecięcych SOS, zmiany w funkcjonowaniu Wiosek Dziecięcych SOS w Polsce oraz zakończenie. Wstęp dotyczy wprowadzenia do tematyki artykułu oraz krótkiej historii i rozwoju Wiosek Dziecięcych SOS na świecie oraz w Polsce. W części drugiej zatytułowanej: Zasady pedagogiczne Wiosek Dziecięcych SOS przedstawione zostały cztery podstawowe zasady funkcjonowania Wiosek Dziecięcych SOS stworzone przez założyciela Wiosek Hermanna Gmeinera, stanowiące podstawę ich działalności opiekuńczo-wychowawczej. Są to: matka, rodzeństwo, dom i wioska. Każda z powyższych zasad jest dość szczegółowo omówiona. W tej części artykułu przedstawione zostały także poglądy H. Gmeinera dotyczące krytycznych uwag o funkcjonowaniu wyżej wymienionych zasad, a szczególnie braku ojca w rodzinie wioskowej. Część trzecia artykułu odnosi się do zmian wprowadzonych w Wioskach Dziecięcych SOS w Polsce. Zmiany dotyczą dostosowania działalności Wiosek Dziecięcych SOS w Polsce do obowiązujących przepisów prawa, a szczególnie ustawy o wspieraniu rodziny i systemie pieczy zastępczej. W wyniku wprowadzonych zmian rodziny funkcjonujące w poszczególnych Wioskach Dziecięcych SOS stały się placówkami opiekuńczo-wychowawczymi typu rodzinnego. W tej części artykułu zostały także omówione wewnętrzne akty prawne dotyczące funkcjonowania Wiosek jako całości oraz poszczególnych placówek opiekuńczo-wychowawczych typu rodzinnego. Zakończenie to ogólne podsumowanie artykułu ze wskazaniem uwarunkowań ewolucji idei Hermanna Gmeinera oraz podkreślenia głównego celu wspierania i systemu opieki zastępczej, jakim jest praca profilaktyczna z rodziną dysfunkcjonalną umożliwiająca rozwój dzieci w rodzinach biologicznych.
The article The pedagogical concept of the SOS Children’s Villages by Hermann Gmeiner and its contemporary application in Poland presents an educational care system, the SOS Children’s Villages, as one form of care for orphaned and abandoned children. The article includes four parts: the introduction, pedagogical principles of the SOS Villages, the changes in the functioning of the SOS Children’s Villages in Poland and the conclusion. The introduction describes the subject-matter of the article and a brief history and development of the SOS Childreris Villages in the world and in Poland. The second part entitled Pedagogical principles of the SOS Children’s Villages presents four basic principles of the functioning of the SOS Children’s Villages, created by the founder of the villages, Hermann Gmeiner, which form the basis for their educational care activities. Those are: a mother, siblings, a family, a village. Each of the above principles is discussed in detail. This part of the article focuses on the views of H. Gmeiner which concern critical remarks about the functioning of the above principles and in particular the lack of a father in the family of a village. The third part of the article refers to the changes made in the SOS Children’s Villages in Poland. The amendments concern the adaptation of the activities of SOS Children’s Villages in Poland to the applicable laws, especially the law on family support and foster care system. As a result of the introduced changes, families operating in the Children’s Villages of SOS have become family-type care and education facilities. This part of the article also discusses internal legal acts regarding the functioning of villages as a whole and individual family-type care and educational facilities. The ending is a general summary of the article with an indication of the conditions of the evolution of the idea of Hermann Gmeiner. The main goal of the foster care system was formulated which is preventive work with a dysfunctional family enabling the development of children in biological families.
